I am a retired English teacher who is very passionate about the teaching profession. Working with students for 35 years has helped me to gain a deep insight into the teaching profession, students, and the purpose of education. I believe that every learner can learn if he/she is provided with a tailored educational plan that meets the academic needs of that individual. I received my Bachelors in Biology from Sul Ross State University in Alpine Texas and my Master's and Doctorate from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. I am a firm believer in education and understand that learning can open windows to the world. I have extensive experience teaching at the college level and enjoy the interactions with students interested in learning and understanding new material. I look forward to supporting students desire to learn.
I'm a conservation biology graduate and early literacy tutor who loves helping students turn confusion into clarity. I take a creative, supportive approach to subjects like science, reading, math, creative and technical skills, breaking things down step by step and connecting them to real life. I encourage curiosity and making mistakes along the way, because that's how we learn... and I believe education equips students with the confidence and skills to create their own opportunities.

I am a graduate of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas and Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. I hold a Early Childhood through Fourth Grade Texas Teacher Certification. I have been teaching for over fifteen years in United States, Myanmar, Bahrain and Laos. My areas of speciality are Autism, Special Education, Reading, English Language Arts, Writing, ESL, ELL, and Elementary. I believe every child has the ability to learn in their own unique way. When I'm not teaching, I love to write. I am the author of over twenty published books! I am also an artist. I paint in acrylics. I also draw in watercolors, pastels and charcoals.
As a reading and writer tutor, my goal is to help students go beyond the basics. I want them to discover stories that relate to them and enliven their minds. Additionally, I don't want students to be intimidated by writing. Writing can be easily conquered and harnessed. As writers, we are in control of our readers, and we develop awesome communication skills that will help us no matter what our chosen profession may be. I focus on each individual student--finding strengths and fine tuning weaknesses. I find immense joy in guiding learners through their academic journeys, and I believe that every student has the potential to succeed with the right support and the right training. I'm a life-long learner myself, and I want to share that joy of learning and discovering with our students. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, both in person and virtual. I have a bachelor's degree in English and anthropology and a master's degree in education with an emphasis in English.

I am a graduate of the Sul Ross Rio Grande College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Spanish. I am certified in The Science of Teaching Reading and currently working on the remaining teaching certification. 13 years ago, I started working at an elementary school that consisted of 1st -6th grade students. I started as a Physical Education Coach, and I currently work with bilingual students who are learning the English language.
I am passionate about teaching students how to read! I specialize in systemic phonics instruction and foundational reading skills. I believe that learners, regardless of ability, need a "village" to help them overcome challenges and succeed. I have seen it first hand in my 25 years of teaching experience!
