I am an educator at heart and a scientist by discipline. I caught the teaching bug as an Undergraduate student working as a Teacher's Assistant. The IMPACT program gave me my first opportunity to work with young students, and I loved it. I was honored by the program as an Awesome Science Mentor, leading chemistry, geography, and geology lab activities. After I received my degree I worked as an Intern at a learning center. I worked as a counselor and workshop leader for 5th-12th graders. I continued my work there as the first Sustainable Agriculture Intern for the facility, building the infrastructure for future interns. Working as an educator is something I am passionate about. Making education fun is how I am working to make the future a brighter place.

I am a firm believer that everyone learns in their own special way. Educators have to constantly adapt to student's in order to ensure learning is taking place. I also believe that education should be fun or at least entertaining. I received my Bachelors degree at the University of West Georgia. I am currently pursuing my Masters in in Education with a concentration in reading and mathematics. I have experience tutoring in elementary grade level grades K-3. Being a current elementary teacher allows me access to all subject. My current favorite subjects to teach are math and phonics.
For over 20 years, my career has been devoted to working with students with disabilities. Being a special education teacher has always been my career goal. I am a graduate of Mercer University with a degree in Specific Learning Disabilities. My classroom experience includes teaching students with reading-based and language-based disabilities as well as those with intellectual disabilities, autism, ADHD, and emotional behavior disorders. Beyond the classroom, my advanced degrees in special education leadership have allowed me to coach and support special education classroom teachers to achieve success with their students. Providing specially designed instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students is my passion, and my measure of achievement is teaching students to use strategies to support independence and progress towards their learning tasks and goals. Seeing students set personal goals and supporting their achievement brings me joy. I love teaching all subject areas, especially reading, and I enjoy helping students strengthen their study skills, social skills, presentation skills, and written expression.

I am a graduate of The University of West Georgia. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, a certificate in advertising, a certificate in sales, and my Master of Business Administration in Management. As a student, I tutored students in various courses, and was a supplemental instruction leader, working with a college professor as an assistant. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, College Algebra, and Accounting. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for upcoming tests, we always seem to have the most fun prepping for the multiple choice, critical thinking, and writing portions of the exams by using interactive games. I received a Bachelor of Science in Literature, Media, and Communications from Georgia Tech. My area of concentration was in media and communications. I have experience in numerous writing forms, including journalistic and technical writing. During my college career, I worked as a Peer Tutor at the University of West Georgia. My main focus is tutoring elementary up to college-level algebra, calculus, and statistics.
