I've been an educator for over a decade. My desire to engage, challenge, and inspire growth in my students is not limited to just the classroom. I set the bars very high for my students and I go above and beyond to help them fulfill those goals. Over the years that I've taught, I worked with many different students with many different needs. It is my goal to share with my students the excitement, dedication and hard work, that comes along when you apply yourself. I believe that students can learn, they just learn differently. As an educator, its my job to make sure all my students thrive successfully. That's why I differentiate my lesson to meet each student's needs. I hold myself to the same standards that I hold my students. That is, I strive to become a skilled thinker and learner, and I believe this is a life-long process.

I have over six years' experience as an ESL teacher and have taught in Japan, Cambodia, Jamaica, and the United States. I currently work for two online ESL schools, TutorABC and Hujing. My stellar performance working at TutorABC has earned me a coveted spot teaching for Oxford University Press. As an ESL teacher, I design lessons, teach English to individuals of varying age groups and backgrounds as well as provide students feedback in a timely manner. It is my belief that a dynamic learning environment coupled with well designed, creative, and innovative lessons that arrest students' attention, capture their interest, and engage them in the learning process can add significant value to their overall learning experience thus stimulating their interest in learning and ultimately transform them into lifelong learners.
I am a passionate learner who finds joy in helping others. For many years I struggled with test anxiety that took the joy out of learning and didn't properly reflect my understanding of material. With this in mind, I love working with others to understand content, master their own ways of learning, and recognize how to take test. My passion for teaching first began through teaching reading and comprehension to young children in Baltimore City and New York. I believe that reading and comprehension opens so many doors and I am excited to work with any ages that would like to grow in this skill. In addition to teaching reading and comprehension, I am social worker with a focus on maternal mental health along with child and family therapy. I was able to take the Maryland LMSW and LCSW-C exam and passed on the first attempt. I would love to support other aspiring social workers to reach their goal of conquering this exam. Let's learn and grow together!
