I am passionate about supporting students as they prepare for the ASWB exam and deepen their understanding of social work and psychology. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students pass an exam, but to build their confidence, critical thinking skills, and professional identity in the field. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring real-world experience into our sessions by using practical scenarios to help you think critically through exam questions. I focus on helping you understand the reasoning behind each answer, not just memorizing content, so you can approach the exam with clarity and confidence.

I have a love of learning, and enjoy instilling that love within students. I believe all students are capable of learning and should be held to high expectations, as they are more likely to achieve success when goals are set and students are encouraged.I have been teaching for 7 years now. I taught 2 years in Indiana, teaching high school special education. I taught resource Biology, resource classes for study skills and homework help, and I co-taught for language arts. After being laid off in Indiana, I moved to Arizona, where I began teaching in Phoenix. I taught 7/8 grade for one year and then moved to 6th grade, within the same school. I teach special education: math and writing, including co-taught math within the general education classroom. As I said, I love to learn. I earned my Bachelor's degree (2008) from Ball State University (in Muncie, Indiana) and have recently earned my Master's degree (2015) from Walden University. Proudly, I had a 3.6 GPA in my Bachelor's and a 4.0 in my Master's. Although I teach special education, I have a desire to help all students. I currently host after school tutoring on the 6th grade campus for which I work, and I enjoy working with general education students as much as I do with students who have special needs.I currently teach sixth grade, but when I am not teaching I enjoy playing tennis, reading, cooking, baking, hiking, and making jewelry.

I am passionate about helping students because I believe in the transformative power of education. My goal is to empower students to realize their potential and to inspire them to approach learning as an exciting and rewarding journey. Education opens doors to opportunities and can dramatically improve a student's life, and I am committed to being a guide and support system throughout that journey. With over 18 years of experience in education, I have worked as a math teacher, interventionist, and administrator. My extensive background has given me a broad perspective on how students learn and what strategies are most effective in helping them succeed. I've worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them overcome challenges, refine their skills, and reach their academic and personal goals. Whether working one-on-one with students to provide individualized support or designing engaging learning experiences for larger groups, my experience has taught me the importance of fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education with a certification in Mathematics, as well as a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology. These qualifications have provided me with a strong foundation in effective teaching strategies, curriculum development, and instructional leadership. I am particularly skilled in helping students succeed in subjects like math, as I believe math offers students a unique opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I love math and making it easy to learn. I try to use real-world problems to make the content relatable and to help students see how math applies in everyday situations, making it easier to understand. The subjects I tutor include mathematics (K-12), test preparation, study skills, and academic planning. Math is my favorite subject to tutor because I love watching students develop their confidence in a subject that many find challenging. There is something incredibly rewarding about helping a student who is struggling with a concept gain that "aha" moment and build the skills they need to continue progressing. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a student-centered learning environment where each student feels valued, supported, and capable of success. I believe in adapting my approach to fit each student's individual needs and learning style, whether that means providing more hands-on practice, visual aids, or breaking complex topics down into manageable steps. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students build a strong foundation for independent learning. Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and playing golf. These activities help me maintain a balanced perspective and bring a sense of joy and relaxation that I carry with me into my professional life. I also value personal growth and continually seek opportunities to learn new things, both within and outside of education.

I received my Master in Education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota and then moved back to Pittsburgh to earn my Pre K-12 Principal Certification from the University of Pittsburgh as well as my Doctoral Degree this past summer. I have extensive knowledge of Hispanic culture - and a passion for the music of Latin America. I have utilized my Spanish-speaking skills not only to teach in a K-12 school setting, but also as an interpreter in the military. I took advantage of many opportunities while serving in the Navy and Army reserves to use my Spanish speaking skills in many medical clinics in Central America. With regard to tutoring, I enjoy working with all age groups. I have tutored students from the middle school level to the college level. I have tutored Spanish to NFL players as well as Italian to high school-aged students. I believe that learning another language is a very rewarding journey. As a native speaker of Italian, I can attest to the fact that learning about the culture is imperative to learning the language including history, food, music, customs, etc. Hence, as I tutor second languages, I am always sure to include information about these topics to maintain interest and increase knowledge. In my free time, I am an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy fishing, hunting, and boating. My favorite sport to watch on television is NHL hockey. I also play several instruments including the guitar and Venezuelan cuatro. I also have a supportive wife and five great children with different learning needs which helps me to relate to all types of learners.

I've been an educator for over a decade. My desire to engage, challenge, and inspire growth in my students is not limited to just the classroom. I set the bars very high for my students and I go above and beyond to help them fulfill those goals. Over the years that I've taught, I worked with many different students with many different needs. It is my goal to share with my students the excitement, dedication and hard work, that comes along when you apply yourself. I believe that students can learn, they just learn differently. As an educator, its my job to make sure all my students thrive successfully. That's why I differentiate my lesson to meet each student's needs. I hold myself to the same standards that I hold my students. That is, I strive to become a skilled thinker and learner, and I believe this is a life-long process.

I am Dr. B, your reading, phonics, writing, and esl specialist. I earned my doctorate degree from Walden University. I have more than 25 years experience providing academic instructions in elementary education. I am passionate about bringing quality education whether the learning is online in the comforts of your own home or in person face to face one-on-one, in a small group, or a whole group setting at school. I love teaching young children because everyday is different, exciting, and fun specially when everyone comes back the next day and tell me their own stories. I love being a part of children's lives, and as I listen attentively to their stories, I know that I am building their skills and self esteem. When children develop self esteem, they gain confidence in learning. I chose to specialize in reading and phonics because it helps in building vocabulary and language skills that every student needs to succeed in all subjects. I always give writing activities after reading sentences and stories because it improves fluency and comprehension. Writing helps in communication and thinking skills. Reading and writing are related. I tend to focus on reading, phonics, and writing strategies and techniques because it makes teaching and learning effective, fun, and interactive. My reading/phonics strategies are simple. I use questioning for comprehension. I provide ample practices to focus on what is being taught and what is there for students to learn. I summarize new lessons to help students review content areas related to what was learned. I provide plenty of feedbacks such as good job, very good, thumbs up, high five, etc. to recognize their efforts and accomplishments. Remember, rewards and praises are great reinforcers. I use repetition techniques throughout my lessons because I believe that repetition learning is the basic technique for effective learning process. The idea is one quickly recalls letter and sound correspondences, the word meaning, and the understanding of each sentence by repeating over and over. I model and apply what was learned so that students can develop their ability to work independently. These following sentences describe me as a teacher and as a person away from school. I communicate positively and very well with students to support their learning. I listen attentively when students communicate with me to build their skills and confidence level. I focus on teacher and student collaboration as well as parent participation so that we can develop a connection to communicate with one another as an equal partner in education. I am flexible and adaptable because everyday is different and the learning constantly changes as we change our subject areas. I engage my students with humor and creative activities to build their thinking skills. I treat students with respect and I am empathetic and understanding of what might be going on with their lives. I am patient and really value the planning of effective teaching to support students' experiences in the classroom and learning at home. With that being said, you should choose me as your teacher. I look forward to working with you as we explore the fascinating worlds of reading, phonics and writing. Until then, I hope to see you soon.

A lifelong learner, my heroes have always been my teachers. Now my goal is to be that person for today's students. I returned to school after a business career and earned my PhD. For the past 5 years, teaching and tutoring math and statistics students within the Minnesota State colleges and universities system has been both challenging and satisfying. Helping students overcome their math frustration is a highlight. These subjects are not for everyone. However, it seems reasonable that successful learning comes when tutoring complements individual interests and educational goals. Some people aspire to win an Olympic medal; scientific minds would like a Nobel Prize; and those who like more drama, seek an Academy Award. Graduation is our ultimate goal as it helps advance an improved quality of life. Looking forward to working with you during a successful school year.

As I reflect on my life's journey, it becomes clear that my background and experiences have shaped me into the person I am today, one driven by a deep desire to help others. My name is Tim Driscoll, and I was born in a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada. However, I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by a mixed heritage of Canadian, Irish, and Ukrainian roots. My upbringing was marked by financial constraints, and as the first generation of my family to pursue higher education, I faced unique challenges. Throughout my academic journey, I explored various fields, but it was the study of the human body's intricacies and healing processes that truly captivated me. This passion led me to begin my educational pursuit in Chiropractic and later major in nutrition and human performance. Currently, I am studying health education and promotion, further fueling my commitment to understanding and promoting human well-being. Beyond academics, my most significant life experiences have centered around family. As a father and grandfather, I have been blessed with the opportunity to shape the lives of my children and grandchildren positively. Being part of a blended family has taught me the importance of appreciation, patience, and providing stability for those I care deeply about. My proudest achievements include obtaining three degrees and striving to become a Ph.D. candidate. However, it is my role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather that brings me the greatest sense of fulfillment. I firmly believe that being there for my family in every possible way is the most valuable contribution I can make to this world. Outside of my family life, I find joy in pursuing hobbies such as golf, woodworking, and tending to my yard. These activities offer me moments of relaxation and rejuvenation, which ultimately enable me to approach my responsibilities with a refreshed perspective. As I contemplate my future goals, I aim to make a difference in the field I am deeply passionate about, Anatomy and Physiology. My short-term goals involve providing structure and stability in my grandchildren's lives, while my long-term aspiration is to return to the classroom as a tutor and share my knowledge with others. I possess several personal qualities that have supported me throughout my life's journey. I am a strong communicator, a good listener, and patient in understanding the needs of others. I strive to provide effective solutions and support whenever I can. My decisions are guided by the unwavering value I place on the safety and security of my family. My path has not been without challenges, but each obstacle has taught me invaluable lessons and spurred my growth as an individual. The struggles I have faced have instilled in me a sense of resilience and determination, empowering me to overcome future hurdles. This personal statement matters to me because it encapsulates my unwavering desire to help others. It showcases my dedication to making a difference, both in my family's life and in the lives of those I may teach and inspire through my passion for Anatomy & Physiology. By sharing my story, I hope others can understand the motivations and decisions that have guided me and learn from the experiences that have shaped my path. In conclusion, I am Tim Driscoll, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather with a passion for human well-being and education. My background, experiences, and values have molded me into a compassionate and driven individual eager to contribute positively to the world around me and I am excited about the prospect of helping others and making a lasting impact in my chosen field of study.

I am a very patient, kind, soft spoken and caring educator, who seeks to find the best approach for each learner. I have many resources that I utilize to help my students be successful. During sessions, I incorporate auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning by following an I Do, We Do, You Do approach. The environment that I create is very nurturing and friendly as I want students to feel comfortable asking questions.

I am a lifelong learner with a B.A in psychology (minor in philosophy) from Butler University, an M.S. in psychology from Walden University and an MSW (masters in social work) from Indiana University. I have been teaching graduate students for several years and am passionate about supporting students in their process. I enjoy tutoring human and social sciences, and if I had to pick a favorite topic I would say it is psychology because that is where my journey began. I am a believer in early reading and writing because this is the foundation of all other learning, and of being successful in life.I believe that every learner is unique and it is important to work with the strengths of the individual; it is my job to support the learner so that they may meet their goals. Aside from teaching and tutoring, I enjoy taking art courses, drawing, illustration and painting, and spending time with family and our animals.

I am a graduate of Cameron University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After graduating, I worked as a substitute teacher and volunteered at a local elementary school. I have 26 years experience as a teacher in the primary grades. I continued my growth as an educator by obtaining a Masters in Reading and Literacy and Education Specialist in Technology through Walden University. Throughout the 29 years, I volunteered for our PTO, worked in the afterschool tutoring programs, and our local Boys and Girls Club. I understand the importance of having the necessary skills to become life long learners. As a teacher, I strive to bring the best researched-based practices into my classroom. I want to set the foundation for my students to be successful not only when they are with me but in their journey as life long learners. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to the beach, and spending time with my family.
