Hi! I'm Katie, and I'm a certified social studies teacher in Maryland and Pennsylvania. I taught 8th grade U.S. history in Maryland for a year, 9th grade world history and AP Government in Philadelphia for a year, and am currently teaching 12th grade ELA in Philadelphia.

As an experienced middle and high school math teacher, I focus on trying to make math more relatable for my students, as math can be extremely challenging at times. With my experience in teaching grades 5 - 12, as well as classes in pre-algebra and algebra, my goal is to help students break down problems and concepts into their most simplistic form to help them with their understanding of the material. Through using a variety of teaching strategies, I strive towards helping students enjoy learning while also developing skills focused in problem solving and number sense. Outside of the classroom I am a huge Baltimore Orioles and Ravens sports fan. I am also the head baseball coach for the school I work at while also serving as an assistant wrestling coach at the high school level.
