Whether working over practice questions in a test booklet, reading an instructional manual or an obscure book for pleasure in a library corner, we are engaging with the words and ideas of others and measuring them for their value, use and relevance. Thinking is never done in total isolation anyway but rather is always a social exercise and activity. The best teaching and learning then, I think, allows us to consider knowledge, from the most practical to the most abstract, as both social exercise and activity. This means, as exercise, that we get comfortable with the necessary repetitions of learning--reading and writing, listening and speaking with consideration. As social activity, strong teaching and learning allows us to consider knowledge production as constantly unfolding, knowledge production as a place where self-expression and communication within a larger community are not only welcome but of absolute necessity.

I am flexible in my teaching and can make changes accordingly to promote a unique learning experience.Before I worked in the field of Software Engineering, I used to teach at an elementary school and at a college in India and so I think I have some idea about how different teaching styles can be an effective tool for kids with different potentials. In my experience, learning math and science can be sometimes overwhelming for some kids but working on one concept at a time would make the transition much easier.

I started getting interested in Biology in the 10th or 11th grade. That was when I began to think about the world from a scientific perspective. I studied Biology at Wayne State University for five years on a presidential scholarship, for which I am eternally grateful! I minored in Chemistry after getting interested in the inner workings of organic chemistry. While going to college I earned money by tutoring classes I had already taken.
