I'm an educator and writer living in NYC with a broad range of interests (history, animals, literature, travel, cooking....) I have a Masters in Museum Education and I've worked in various museums and schools with kids and adults of all ages, teaching art, history, English, math, you name it! I get genuinely excited when I learn something new and pass it on to other people, and I try to communicate and share some of my own excitement about learning when I work with students. If you think creatively, there are always new ways to approach a problem that has stumped you, or get yourself invested in a subject that doesn't seem interesting at first glance.

Hello! My name is Emily. I was a teacher for the past 7 years and I love working with children and find such joy in watching them learn and grow. I recently started a Master's degree in Early Childhood General and Special Education for bilingual learners at Bank Street College of Education in New York City. I am looking forward to this opportunity to advance my teaching practice. I am available to tutor any elementary school students in all subjects, or any age level in Spanish. I look forward to working with you!
My Name is Tiana Green. I have two Master's Degree, Bank Street College of Education in Math Leadership and Rutger's University in Master's in Public Administration. I have been an educator for 11 years as an elementary teacher. I have taught grades 1-6, primarily working with upper elementary as a mathematics teacher. I have a love for teaching mathematics, and this year I will be an instructional math coach at my school.I teach because I feel as if it is something I was meant to do. Interacting with students day to day and learning what makes them tick, what inspires them, what their struggles may be, and what truly motivates them is one of the most interesting and rewarding jobs there is. Plus, I get to teach one of the best subjects: math! I love helping kids learn math in different ways and I especially enjoy being a part of building their math confidence.
Education is the key to success. I am a caring, thorough educator with 20 + years of experience. Have taught ages 7 through 18 as well as college ages 18 to over 50. In addition to teaching I am an artist. I do graphic arts, computer graphics and fine arts. I look forward to meeting you during one of our tutoring sessions. Cheers.
I am a graduate of Bennington College and the Bank Street School of Education. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and a Masters in Elementary Education. Since graduation, I have spent a good deal of time performing and teaching. When I wasn't in a school I would be performing theatre, improv or voice over. I also found time to volunteer at the Brooklyn Cat Caf, where I met on of my pets! I have spent the majority of my time teaching elementary aged children core academics including math, literature, writing and social studies. I have also been a science and technology teacher. I am most passionate about math, writing and reading. I am a proponent of positive reinforcement. I was a class clown as a student, and I always try to reach out to students who may need an extra minute or two. In my free time I like to 3D design, read both books and comics, and learn new ways to cook.
I am dedicated to infusing choice into student learning. I specialize in early childhood special education, unschooling, building communities, and bicycle travel.I currently work with organizations that intersect education, the arts, and the environment to bring student-led learning into the public education sector.
