I have 12 years of teaching experience, including 3 years teaching overseas. I have taught KG, 2nd and 4th grades full time. I have also taught 7th Grade Science and Social Studies. Prior to being credentialed, I worked as a substitute teacher for 4 years while going to school.I come from a family of educators, and it is my passion to work with kids. I have a son with autism, so I am well versed in educating students with diverse needs.I served 9 years in the Navy and I am a proud veteran. I have a 14-year-old son. In my free time, I enjoy doing Tough Mudder events and endurance running.

I have an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction, and I am certified to teach middle school and ESL through the state of Texas. I take professional development courses regularly to maintain my credential and build new skills. I teach all areas of English instruction from phonics and emergent reading to high school literature and writing. I also specialize in test prep for the ISEE and various state exams.
