I left high school and entered into college full-time when I was only 14, and transferred to a UC campus as a junior by the time I was 17. I received my Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at UC Merced, and my Masters in Public Administration at Cal State Long Beach. My academic path has been quite unconventional, but it gave me the opportunity familiarize myself with a wide range of subjects. I am currently continuing my education in the medical sector, and volunteer at a local hospital with some of my spare time. I'm very confident in my ability to tutor all subjects, but I am most experienced in tutoring students in math and science. Based on my experience, students tend to learn best when they're taught to understand concepts, rather than being asked to memorize. During my study breaks, I enjoy swimming, bike riding, cooking and, more importantly, eating.

I am passionate about Science Education and making science accessible to people of all backgrounds. I have taught seven semesters worth of science classes at California State University, Long Beach. I coached the science section of academic decathlon at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove for two years. I am currently running an after school engineering program at Pacifica High School in collaboration with the University of California, Irvine chapter of Engineers Without Borders.
I was previously employed at California State University, Long Beach as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for General Microbiology lecture and laboratory courses. My master's thesis research in Peter Ramirez's Lab focused on HIV-1 accessory protein interactions with human intrinsic restriction factors and how these factors may also contribute to SARS-CoV-2 virus-like particle infectivity. Currently, I am working towards obtaining a doctorate degree in biomedical science within the Virology and Gene Therapy track at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. With the associated experience and knowledge that comes from earning my Ph.D., I aim to conduct research on emerging viral pathogens and/or antiviral/vaccine development.
I have taught math, language arts, and reading for the last 10 years. I have tutored for more than that. I am ready to do all that I can to make your student successful in the material they are struggling with. I am so confident that I can do it that I guarantee you'll see results the first time I'm there!
Hello students! I am an Education college student in my final year to earn my teaching credential for Adolescent and Young Adult education in Language Arts. I specialize in assistance with reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and critical analysis of a text.In addition to my training to become a language arts teacher, I have a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I worked as a professional writer for several years before changing my career to pursue education.I believe that every student has the ability to learn course content. Often, the missing elements in successful learning are the "how" and "why" of content. I find out how students learn best by asking questions and creating learning methods based on student aptitudes. I also believe that students learn much more efficiently when they understand why something is critical or important, and how it can apply to their future goals.*PLEASE NOTE: My tutoring schedule may be subject to change during the fall semester due to upcoming on-site student teaching for my credential program during the morning and afternoon hours. If this becomes the case, I will notify you ASAP.
I have been working in the math field for over 40 years, on all levels. I absolutely love what I do, which is helping individuals get over the math hurdle and achieve their goals! Currently I teach at a college but also really enjoy working with students in an one-on-one setting. I am confident I can help you with any math needs and you might actually start to love the subject! My interests when I am not teaching/tutoring are: spending time with family, music, travel, and a nice glass of wine.

I am a Kinesiology graduate student at Cal State Long Beach and I received my B.A. in Sociology at UC Irvine. I have tutored elementary students for almost a year and enjoy teaching study skills techniques. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor are reading and writing because I enjoy doing both. I have always enjoyed school and feel that education is one of the most important things we can obtain in life. I hope to be able to share my appreciation for education with my students so that they may know from a young age how important it is. In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching Netflix, running and going to sporting events with friends.

I represented Westinghouse Electric Corp. as a member of the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping committee on elevated temperature design.
I am passionate about teaching, tutoring and helping students maximize their educational journey. I have been tutoring various areas in education ranging from the math and sciences to music and Spanish. I have been tutoring now for five years and have been very successful in my mission of helping students succeed! I have had the opportunity to teach in the school district I am in for about five years as well and I have seen many of my students go on to graduate and achieve high success. My biggest goal is to change the mindset of students I tutor from "This is too hard" to "I have this down now" and that is just through through work and an encouraging and positive learning environment.
I enjoy the one-on-one tutoring sessions because it provides a safe environment to learn. I break the sessions into small learning increments to motivate and engage the student. I believe this teaching strategy encourages independent learning and students want to come back to the next session.
