I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Management Information Systems. I received a Masters of Education from Langston University in Educational Leadership. I have over 18 years experience in education and 30 years in corporate business experience. I am most passionate about Reading, Math, and History. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I travel to overseas countries to study their history.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development from The University of Texas and a Master in Education Administration from Dallas Baptist University. While I have just recently retired from a 28-year career in education, I am still passionate about helping students achieve their personal best. I believe that all students can learn; They just may not be able to master concepts on the same day and in the same way as their peers. As a tutor, I get the distinct privilege of figuring out what is causing the student to struggle and support the child in overcoming the challenge. My goal is for the student to not only master content but to learn effective strategies that can be employed in new learning situations as well as build the self-confidence needed to be an independent learner.
I have a Master of Education in Reading and extensive experience instructing reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary. I truly enjoy reading challenging literature in my spare time. My love of reading allows me to be passionate about teaching students to appreciate books and develop a lifelong love of learning through reading. I also have experience as a Kindergarten and ESL teacher in teaching phonics and early reading skills. I currently teach Family and Consumer Science as well as health and want to propel students to higher knowledge in a wide variety of life skills.
I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a degree in English and History and a minor in Spanish. I tutored universitiy international students on the basics in English. I stayed on and finished my Elementary Education certification for K-8. I have a Master's from University of Texas at Arlington where I focused on teaching students with spoke a different language than English, teaching reading, and teaching Gifted and Talented Students. I graduated from University of North Texas with a school librarian certification from Prek-12. I tutored before teaching in a Kindergarten classroom. I have tutored students for the STAAR which is the state test for Texas and I have tutored first and second grade students who were a year behind in reading at the beginning of the year and were on grade level at the end of the year. My passion is teaching and watching students grow. I really enjoy tutoring younger kids with phonics and reading. I like to proctor exams for older students as I have proctored the STAAR test for elementary and junior high.
I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University and Texas A&M University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education and a minor in Math Education. I received my Masters degree in Education Administration. My favorite subject to teach is math. I love teaching students different strategies in math. Some students will love math; while other students may be indifferent. My name is Gabriela and I am an elementary bilingual teacher in Dallas, TX. I have a passion for teaching and learning, which is what made me pursue this career. I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University and received my Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies, during which I also took Biblical Studies and Psychology courses outside of my degree requirements. Since graduation, I have worked with online international tutoring programs for students in Hong Kong (through which I received my TEFL certifications) and worked alongside my husband as a sub at the K-12 private Christian academy he has served with for the last 3 years. I'm a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where I got my Bachelors of Science in Sports Management in 2012 and I have recently gone back to DBU to pursue my Masters as well. Since 2012, I have been tutoring students in Garland ISD from seventh graders to seniors in the AVID program, where we use the Socratic Method to tutor. I normally tutor math and science subjects but my favorite subject to tutor is geometry. To me, geometry is exciting and so much fun which I hope to transfer that same excitement to my all students about math. Outside of tutoring students, I am always on the volleyball court. Whether I am coaching or playing, that is where I love to be.

Hello! I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in History in May 2022. I have taken courses including Zoology, Cell Biology, Organic Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, etc. I plan on going back to school to earn a master's in public health in the coming future.
