As a sixth-year educator, it has always been my pleasure to help others reach their full potential. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Elizabeth City State University. I later completed a teacher education program and earned my North Carolina Professional Educator's license from East Carolina University. Currently, I'm a candidate for the Masters of Arts in Teacher Leadership- Curriculum & Instruction in Urban Education. All of these credentials have shaped me as an academic, though I truly believe that my passion for seeing young people realize their dreams is what makes me who I am. I look forward to working with you!

I am a graduate of Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education; a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Masters of School Administration and my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Supervision. My dissertation which was entitled, "Gender disparities in reading achievement in grades 3-5". Growing up I developed a love for education by witnessing my mother teach and help students in the neighborhood. I knew when I was in kindergarten that I wanted to be a teacher and in 1992 upon graduating from college I was afforded the opportunity to become a teacher in the county in which I lived as a child. I was a teacher for 19 years, prior to becoming an assistant principal and principal. I served as an assistant principal and principal for 8 years before taking a position as Director of Curriculum & Instruction/Title I and Chief Academic Officer. I retired in June of 2023 after completing 31 years of service in education. I knew when I retired that it would be hard to just stop. I have always had a desire to help students learn and be successful. I believe that students learn differently and as educators we have to adapt our teaching to meet their individual needs.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to inspire young minds and foster a love for science! With a Bachelor's in Biology from Elizabeth City State University, I have over 25 years of teaching experience, including middle school science and high school courses such as AP Environmental Science and Biology. My teaching philosophy centers on individualizing instruction to meet diverse learning needs, drawing on real-life applications to make scientific concepts relatable and engaging. As a Gifted Education Facilitator, I am passionate about nurturing students' curiosity and helping them discover interests they didn't know they had. I take pride in witnessing my students achieve their goals, such as our recent success at state competitions. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring the natural world around me, which enhances my enthusiasm for science and allows me to bring that excitement into the classroom. I have been teaching high school math for 15 years, and have taught everything from Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus BC. I have taught math online for over 8 years, as well, in addition to teaching at a local community college. I love what I do!

I am an educator of 35 years. I am a retired assistant principal of a high school in Georgia. I have taught science in high school, middle school programs, college, STEM, summer programs and more. I design curriculum for schools, train teachers, train leaders, tutor, and teach people how to pass test. I am caring, innovative, understanding, fun, patient, kind, and love teaching. I work well with all types of learners. I hold a BS degree in Biology pre-med, a minor in education, a masters in science education, and a doctorate of curriculum and instruction, certifications in coaching, insurance, AP Biology, annuities, retirement, character ed. I have great strategies for learning, organization, study skills, mindset, science concepts, research, memorizing, social emotional learning, and even adult learning. I love learning and I like seeing the light bulb come on for my students.

I enjoy teaching because every child has the ability to learn something new!! I have been a Special Educator for 14 years, I hold several degrees, and nine teaching certifications. My philosophy is that every child has the ability to learn. My favorite subjects to tutor are reading and math.

I am a retired English teacher. I live in Moseley, VA and have taught English for 25+ years. I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in English from Elizabeth City State University and a Masters Degree in Education from Virginia State University. Teaching is my passion as I personally get great joy in seeing my student(s) grasp an understanding of the lesson(s) taught. I have taught students in General education classes and students whose 1st language is not English - both with much success. I have taught Grammar as an integrated subject and as a separate subject. I have also taught Literature. What I know from years of teaching is learning styles differ from child to child. In order for students to be successful, the teacher must teach in a fashion and style in which the child benefits most. This is the key to imparting knowledge. When I am not educating students, I enjoy reading, traveling and walking .
