I am a Graduate from Emerson College, I received my BA and MFA in Creative Writing, with a focus in Fiction. Since graduation, I have been tutoring as a volunteer in Boston, as well as focusing on my own creative endeavors.I am intensely passionate about writing in all its forms. As a former journalist and live-long lover of literature, I very much enjoy educating students so that they may develop the skills need to participate in the larger discourse in society. In my experience, writing and reading are acts of conversation, and students are most effectively engaged and most academically succesful when they are listened to and encouraged to take part in the exchange.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, museums, walking my dog, and going to live concerts.

I have published six books of poetry and a memoir, and I'm an accomplished blogger. I've been a professor of English for 20 years, and I most enjoy working with students on creative work or essays. I am a graduate of Emerson College where I received my B.S. in Mass Communications, and earned my M.S. from Pace University where I studied publishing. Everyone has a story to tell and some people feel they cannot express it in words. However, with patience, organization, and practice, they can become better at doing so. I have worked at a newspaper and also do medical editing. I have helped young and adult students become better writers and readers. As a result, they have increased confidence. My desire is to see students progress, not only academically, but be strengthened with skills that will help them in the future. I have had mentors help me in my schooling and career and likewise want to offer the same. On a personal note, my hobbies always grow. I love to travel, do crafty things, study naturopathy, play guitar, sing, I'm a foodie, and also make cosmetics like a scientist. I'm willing to try new things, and enjoy creation outdoors.

I recently earned my MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College, where I taught in the EmersonWRITES program, had a 3.97 GPA, and was nominated for The President's Award, across all graduated departments, "for the highest level of academic achievement at Emerson. I earned my BA from Middlebury College in English and American Literature, where I was on the Dean's List. As a writer and editor, I specialize in personal essay, profiles, art criticism, and expository academic work. With tutoring, I'm an experienced private tutor, eager and qualified to help in two ways: 1. Giving helpful feedback related to all things form and craft, syntax, structure, tone and 2.
