I'm passionate about helping students because I know firsthand how empowering knowledge can be. Whether it's demystifying complex code or guiding someone through their first cybersecurity lab, I find real joy in making learning accessible, relatable, and exciting. My experience spans working with fellow students in computer science and cybersecurity, as well as mentoring younger learners in subjects like programming, data structures, and foundational math and even test prep for school and college students . One of my most formative roles was serving as President of my college's Toastmasters Club, where I coached members in public speaking, led leadership workshops, and organized speech contests. We earned top accolades across categoriesEvaluation, Table Topics, Humorous, and International Speech. This experience sharpened my ability to communicate clearly and inspire others, which has become central to my tutoring style. I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering and completed my Master's in Cybersecurity at the Illinois Institute of Technology. I tutor subjects including Python, SQL, Computer Science fundamentals, Topics in computer science , Networking, Cybersecurity and IELTS test prep. Cybersecurity is my favorite subject to tutor because it's dynamic, practical, and deeply problem-solving oriented qualities that make each session both intellectually stimulating and impactful. My teaching philosophy is student-centered and adaptable. I focus on building confidence, breaking down difficult concepts into manageable parts, and using real-world examples to make lessons stick. I believe in creating a supportive environment where questions are welcomed and curiosity is celebrated. Outside of academics, I enjoy public speaking, singing, and participating in national competitionsactivities that keep me creative, energized, and continuously learning. Each student is unique, and I'm committed to helping them reach their goalswhether that means acing an exam, building foundational skills, or simply learning something new with confidence and curiosity.

The student is the artist, and the canvas is their educational experience. The tutor is the the person who provides the student with brushes/paints to create, and guides them with techniques to become more confident in their creation. The art is already inside the student, and the tutors duty is to unlock that potential to create.

I am a patient tutor with a strong academic background in mathematics. I enjoy working with students of different learning styles and believe that effective tutoring is not just about finding the right answer, but about developing the skills and mindset for independent success, no matter which way students initially approach a problem. As someone who has studied advanced mathematics and problem-solving techniques, I understand how frustrating challenging subjects can feel. Because of this, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. In addition to academic knowledge, I bring strong reliability and professionalism. I take pride in being organized, committed to helping students achieve their goals, whether they are improving grades, preparing for exams, or gaining confidence in a subject. I am a graduate student at Illinois Institute of Institute of Technology in Hardware Engineering. I received my Bachelor of Science in Computer with a focus on control systems and computer architecture. After graduating in 2015, I worked in the industry as a consultant and continued tutoring Engineering Statistics and Computer Engineering classes. My tutoring experience includes a broad range of subjects and age groups I can offer extensive flexibility among disciplines and use technology to visualize them. I have prepared students for IB and SAT and tutored Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics and Computer Science on various levels. Even though my tutoring experience is very extensive, I love teaching physics and calculus. It's something I have to use in my everyday life as a research assistant and I like visualizing examples rather than memorizing formulas and theories to get my end results. I am what people call as a knowledge sponge. I love learning in general. You can find me doing Sudoku or crosswords in a coffee shop or doing experiments in the lab, but the end of goal is the same: learning something new. I believe with knowledge we can improve our quality of life and become more intellectual beings. As far as hobbies and side projects goes, I enjoy cooking professionally, working with my hands building or working on robots, electrical cars and control circuits, and love watching and playing soccer.

I am an architect by day and a tutor by other times of the day. I graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago just this last May and completed my undergraduate studies in Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology a few years ago.I like to ski in the winter, despite hating the cold, go to the beach in the summer, and attend concerts whenever I have the opportunity. I like a range of music, movies and TV Shows - I am willing to bet we have at least one in common. In my spare time I hang out with my two cats Bella and Luca and enjoy exploring the city of Boston. In Chicago I went on a quest to find the best "Chicago style hot dog" and ate more than anyone should in their lifetime. I can tell you all about how I waited in line for five hours at one place...I like to make learning fun, and I hope you want to do the same. I have tutored elementary school-aged students in reading and math and was a mentor for incoming freshmen at IIT. I was able to take a group of 6-12 freshmen on tours of Chicago while teaching them the importance of sketching and assisting with any other subjects with which they needed guidance. I believe that if we aren't having fun we are doing it wrong. My subjects include: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Homework Support, Math, Middle School Math, Reading, Study Skills and more!

I am a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology, receiving a Bachelors of Architecture with specializations in 'digital design' and 'history and theory'. Since, I have worked with a couple of architecture firms and am currently in the process of taking the architectural registration exams. I have been involved as a tutor since high school, working with middle and high schoolers in math from algebra to calculus, middle school band ensembles, writing skills and reading comprehension, as well as a variety of other subjects on a short-term basis. I was also able to teach in a more significant capacity through Breakthrough Central Texas' summer program in Austin. There, I received intensive training over three months, worked alongside aspiring teachers, and was able to develop as a teacher over a 12-week, full-day program. I worked primarily with 6th graders in math, reading, and writing, but also taught a drawing/comics class for 6th-12th graders. Our students came from areas that had shown a greater likelihood for their students to start, but not complete, their college-level education. Working with kids who were just starting their 11-year journey, students who were in college and with Breakthrough, and the staff who had been with those kids for years gave me a wonderful perspective on what education looks like for many across the country, and solidified the importance of a holistic education system. I hope to bridge this passion with my architectural background in the near future, but in this moment where our schools and teachers are under an even-greater strain, I hope to help relieve some of that by assisting students where I can. My areas of greatest expertise are anything related to architecture, maths through trigonometry, writing and reading comprehension, and music (trumpet for more-advanced musicians, all brass for beginner/intermediate musicians). With any subject, I believe the most effective way to make meaningful progress is by continually making connections to other areas of knowledge and interest. This approach broadens the ways a student understands a concept, allowing for analysis and questioning that is more authentic and effective for that student's understanding of a concept. This is an approach to learning that I picked up while working in Austin, and have used ever since, making learning situations more enjoyable in the moment and more likely to stick around after the immediate need for that knowledge. For me, I am always relating a new concept or topic back to what I know about architecture, structures, materials, and urban design because of my everyday work; but, also thinking about how they might play into music composition and production, film writing and creation, cooking and nutrition (gave me a whole new frame for chemistry and biology), and sports (there aren't too many physics questions that can't be visualized in soccer). Please give my resume a look for more on my experiences and skills.

I used to teach and perform research but I'm now putting my three degrees (Ph.D. M.S and B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering to work helping students master science and math. I always enjoyed one on one tutoring sessions when teaching courses at University of Illinois and Iowa State University, and love to tutor in math and subjects used in mechanical engineering. These are all levels of algebra, trigonometry, calculus, differential equations, probability, statistics and physics. My approach to teaching is to try to merge theory and practical application of the theory. Over time, I've found some students to best learning the "why" a method works before trying to apply a method; others do best seeing material in the opposite order preferring to see how a theory is applied before learning the general theory. When tutoring, I try to observe which method of learning best suits a particular student and adapt the lesson to their learning style. No matter which type of student, I sometimes find connecting mathematical or physical concepts through hobbies or every day applications helps spark interest. Pattern drafting for sewing or knitting involves some algebra, grade school pre-algebra and trigonometry. In fact, I used mastery of math to create online knitting patterns to create custom hand knit sock patterns. To see simply applications of math to knitting visit my old hobby blog, http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/530 . While knitting is probably not your hobby, I can generally find applications that can help make a mathematical concept we are working on meaningful. Applications come from all sorts of places: geometric progressions relate to growth of money in a bank account, Newtons laws of mechanics can be related to baseball and combinations and permutations used in probability have applications in gambling, investing, and believe it or not, deriving the ideal gas law, used in chemistry, physics and thermodynamics.I hope I can make learning enjoyable for you. Contact me if you need help in math or physics.

I am currently attending Illinois Institute of Technology. I am majoring in Business Administration. In the past, I have tutored students, who needed help, at an elementary school located in Champaign, Illinois. The subject I enjoy to tutor is Math. There are many different methods in solving a math problem; however, many teachers are negligent of other possible ways of solving a problem due to the lack of time in class, thus they only present one method of solving a problem. Not every student can solve a problem using the same method; I have become aware of this as many of classmates and I will receive the same answer to a problem, but would have arrived by different methods. Because of this, I believe a student, best, comprehends a topic when he or she applies his or her own logic to the problem, thus, when I tutor, I adapt to the method and logic that the student is using and guide them to the correct answer. I will, also, suggest other methods and demonstrate my method of solving the same problem to provide the student with a variety of methods, in which he or she can choose to use.

I love the reaction people make when they finally understand a concept or subject. I believe that everyone learns differently whether it is through lectures, or videos, or even notecards. So there is always an approach to making the material easier to understand.Learning should be fun at the same time. The teachers that stood out to me never failed to make whatever they were teaching enjoyable for the whole class. And that is what I believe is very important. If there is a way to make the material a little more bearable, it encourages students to want to learn.

I grew up in Chicago's Rogers Park and, later, Morton Grove, IL where I attended Niles West High School. After graduating, I enrolled in the Chemical Engineering program at the Illinois Institute of Technology. While an undergraduate, I was a peer tutor in General Chemistry. My favorite subjects in college always involved using computational models of chemical processes; pursuit of this niche sub-discipline afforded me an opportunity of a semester at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Upon obtaining my Bachelor of Science Degree, I continued my education to obtain a Master's degree in Chemistry. Subsequently, employed by various companies in the industry, I worked in the fields of Semiconductors, Natural Gas and Energy, and provided technical consultancy to instrument companies and universities. Perhaps as a tribute to experience with tutoring as an undergraduate, and lecturing Chemistry as a graduate student, I had been especially adept at taking a complex scientific or mathematical concept and breaking it down to the level of comprehension by a lay person or a professional of varying discipline -- a precursor to my present occupation. After transitioning from the industry to education, I was fortunate to discover passion and fulfillment in helping students achieve their personal goals, be it basic education, performance in math and science, standardized testing, high school equivalency attainment or self-improvement through further education and more lucrative career options. In addition to being a tutor, I volunteer at the Howard Area Community center as an Adult Basic Education Tutor and at Horizons for Youth, working with at-risk urban youth.

Teaching is one of the most noble things a person can do, and it is one thing I have been doing for many years. Since arriving to Chicago in 2010, I have been active in assisting others in my community. I began tutoring children of various ages at the JHP community center, where I taught both academic and physical skills. More important than my teaching experiences, however, is my ability to touch other peoples lives. After starting college at IIT, I began to interact more with African immigrants, Latino students, and other groups. My experiences, conversations, and struggles with these individuals made me realize how racial and economic problems can affect school studies. One example was during my undergraduate studies when I noticed how the diverse student body, even international students, lacked knowledge about the scientific history of other cultures. I thus began working in the Math Club to promote events on Chinese, African, Arab mathematics. These initiatives were greatly appreciated by both staff and students.I thus learned the importance of personally connecting with others in order to better communicate with them. These were also the lessons I picked up while tutoring at-risk students at Pathways-In-Education. I also learned the need to work alongside teachers and other staff to ensure the organization could give the best possible support to each single student. This, combined with my years of assisting AP calculus teachers, has given me the ability to bond with both faculty and students, thereby creating a conductive learning environment for all people.I am thus confident I can help anyone excel in whatever field they need help in, particularly mathematics as it is one of my favorite subjects, as well the topic of my bachelor's degree.
