I have a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Lehigh University, which I attended, after earning an Army ROTC scholarship. Subsequently, I spent three years serving as an Armor officer at Fort Knox, Kentucky. It was there that I gained my first teaching experience. I instructed students ranging from new recruits to senior officers and enlisted soldiers. After completing my service obligation, I earned a law degree from Rutgers University and a Master of Journalism degree from Temple University. While working as a Graduate Assistant at Temple, I gained additional teaching experience in front of the classroom and with individual students in the computer lab. After graduating, I worked for 10 years in Public Relations, which allowed me to utilize my writing skills. As a Tutor, my focus is on Reading Comprehension, Grammar Usage and Writing. I believe that skilled language use is becoming a dying art and that a student who masters this can truly stand out from his or her peers. My job is to help our clients achieve that distinction.

I believe that science should be made fun and relevant. In my teachings I use as many real life examples as possible. I do not emphasize memorization, but rather an understanding of the process and the relationships that exist. If one tries to learn science by memorization, there is simply too much information. However, if one understands the relationships that exist between factors, then one can apply a consistent process to solve the problem.I believe that all students want to know their teacher/tutor is in it with them. I strive to establish a personal connection with my students. That means I let them get to know me as a person to some degree and not just as a teacher. Once this connection is established, learning takes place at a faster pace.I am willing to do whatever it takes to help a student advance as long as the student is willing to put the effort in themself. I believe that education must be self-owned - that students have to claim their right to an education by demanding to be challenged and working to meet that challenge.

I am a Structural Engineer with degrees in Civil Engineering and Architecture, and I have passed the SE exam. I volunteered as an assistant teacher in college, have taught seminars to colleagues, and have tutored and mentored informally over the years.

I'm a recent graduate of Lehigh University who is extremely excited to begin tutoring. I was initially admitted into Lehigh's school of business and spent a year there before realizing my need to pursue my true passion for English. I graduated in only three and a half years with a Bachelor's degree in English as well as a minor in creative writing. Through my time at school I have peer edited countless papers, critiqued works of fiction, and written a considerable amount of my own material.Throughout my whole life I have spent much of my spare time reading books or writing creatively. My expertise is letters, words, sentences, paragraphs- how to create them, decipher them and think about them. If you have any problems with math, please do not consult me! Anything more advanced than multiplication tables is completely out of my jurisdiction. However, any struggle with the English language is firmly within my ability to remedy!I take a strong academic and social interest in global events, history, psychology, and much more. I have a great deal of energy and am at times an irrepressible joker; some might say a class clown. I love to help students learn languages -- both written/spoken languages and programming languages! I taught German and coding for 18 years in a high school and have been tutoring in coding and running a middle school coding club since retiring from that career. I have a Master of Education degree from Lehigh University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University. I can tutor beginning and intermediate coding in languages like Python and JavaScript and can also tutor any level of the German language. My personal style tends to be rather gentle and easygoing. My name is Jared Feindt, and I'm a Mechanical Engineering PhD Candidate at Lehigh University. I enjoy lifting, basketball, soccer, investing, technology, and soon hope to travel. I graduated from Bucknell University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in May, along with a Math Minor.I excel at teaching strategies for tackling standardized tests, including the GRE, ACT, SAT, and PSAT. I received nearly perfect scores on the math sections of all of these tests.
