I have been in the education field for approximately 18 years. I have held various positions in those years, including tutor, paraprofessional, and as a classroom teacher for 2nd and 5th grade. I love watching what I call the lightbulb moment when a student goes from "I don't like this" or "I can't do this" to "this is easy" or "this is fun!" All of my experience has been in elementary, basically grades 2 through 5, and my favorite subject to teach is math.

Live in the moment and be with the people in front of you. You cannot change the past and you cannot predict the future. You can be present with those you are with, including being content alone!
I love teaching and helping students develop a love for learning and unlocking their true potential!! Currently in year nine of teaching. 6 years as a Special Education Teacher. 3 as a General Education Teacher. Orton -Gillingham Certified. I have taught in the US and abroad, teaching in multi-cultural settings to bilingual students and students with exceptional needs. My experience is with all age groups K-12 over a vast array of subject matters.
Learning is a life long adventure. Enjoy the journey-:)
I am a graduate of the Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. I received my B.M. in Music Education. While in school, I worked with ESL students and taught private music lessons. After graduating, I taught music in the North Carolina public schools where I taught students from middle- through high-school. I am currently teaching in the Pennsylvania public schools where I am an orchestra director at the elementary level. I also run my own piano studio, and I virtually taught ESL students. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, writing music, reading, painting, running, and cycling.
I have been a teacher at the Middle School and High School level for the last 17 years. I am currently a special education teacher in the middle school setting. I received my teaching degree from Mansfield University in PA. I hold 4 different teaching certification in the state of Pennsylvania: Special Education 7-12, Math 7-12, English 7-12, and Elementary Education K-6. I love to teach ELA and Math. I love coming up with new and creative ways for students to learn difficult subject areas or with topics that they may struggle with.
One thing which draws me to teaching mathematics and physics is that I have always been passionate about the beauty of mathematics and its deep connections to nature. Mathematical beauty is underappreciated and I like to evangelize. The more people understand mathematics, the more people can learn to recognize its beauty. The best education teaches a love of learning in itself, which is something I hope to impart to any students I work with. I also come from a family of teachers, as both my mother and her mother were teachers, and I have various cousins who are also involved in education. Education is in my blood, so to speak. I also have several years of personal experience tutoring and teaching courses. I have an extensive background in mathematics and physics. I have a dual bachelor's degree in the subjects, as well as graduate school in physics. My research in physics was focused on a particular aspect of string theory known as conformal field theory which elucidates deep connections between algebra, geometry, complex analysis, and physics. A full explanation of the research is beyond the scope of this statement, but I hope to convey my experience with the relevant subjects.
