I am a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where I graduated with a degree in elementary education. I then moved to Nigeria, where I taught second and third grade in an international school. After teaching in Nigeria for three years, I moved to Franklin, TN, where I have been teaching second grade for two years. I am passionate about intrinsically motivating my students to work hard and learn. I strive to make learning fun and interactive. To adjust to the specific needs of my students, I employ multiple methods of learning. I especially enjoy working with elementary students in any subject that they are struggling with. For the middle school and high school ages, I enjoy tutoring in: history, geography, and public speaking. When I am not working I enjoy the outdoors, sports, traveling, or a cup of coffee with a friend!

I am a Ph.D. student studying Organizational Leadership. I am passionate at helping students learn because I myself love education. My preferred tutoring subjects are languages, mathematics, and Biblical Studies. I speak English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and I can read and write Greek and Hebrew. For the last 10 years as a youth mentor I have worked to help students succeed. While mentoring has meant life coaching, counseling and college visits, it has also included a substantial amount of academic tutoring. I have a BA in Linguistics, two masters degrees in religious studies, and am currently completing a PhD in Theology and Culture at Fuller Seminary. I am a self-confessed nerd (I once presented a paper at a conference on The Hobbit). I am a huge fan of fitness and ran a free CrossFit "garage gym" with over 20 members for several years. I play the guitar and attempt the piano. I enjoy traveling and recently hiked the Incan Trail to Machu Picchu. I am a native of Port au Prince, Haiti, where I completed all my classical schooling (from grammar school to high school) and some college in French. I immigrated to the U.S. in 2006 to further my studies. When I am not at work or some other engagements, you will find me playing with my two-year old daughter and my six-month old son, or going on a walk with my wife (and the children), or hanging out with friends. When I am alone, you will find my eyes riveted on a TV or computer screen or, better yet, a book. Although I am no philosopher by any stretch of the imagination, I enjoy deep thinking, especially on philosophical matters. That constitutes most of my quiet moments in life.Languages and people are my passion. I speak four living languages and I am proficient in two dead languages. Few sights bring me more joy than seeing a person learn and grow. I hold a MA in Biblical Exegesis (Ancient Greek and Hebrew Interpretation) from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL and a BA is Pastoral Ministry from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL.I believe every person can learn any language he or she desires. Therefore, I tutor with one conviction--what stands between a student and his or her target language is a tutor who listens and taps into the student's dominant learning style. Because (in my view) motivation and passion drive learning, rather than focusing on weaknesses, I emphasize the student's strengths. I have seen students who were struggling in learning French obtain an A at the end of the same semester. I am willing to stay day and night until the objective and visions are made a reality.I was born in Bogota, Colombia where I lived a few short years before moving to Miami, Florida. It was here, on the beaches, where I grew up. It was also here where I met my future wife, Savannah, in High school. During those formative years I knew I wanted to take my love for coaching and educating further and moved to Chicago Illinois to begin my undergrad at the great Moody Bible Institute. After Graduation my wife and I moved to Nashville Tennessee to begin a new life of our own.
