About Me: Hello! My name is Dia, and I'm so happy you're here. I love helping students build confidence in learning. By breaking down difficult concepts into small steps and finding ways to explain them, I hope to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. Why I tutor: Seeing a student gain confidence and have that "I get it now" moment is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me.

My name is Ashish and I am currently a Civil engineer for the city of New York. I chose Civil engineering because I wanted to contribute to the society and help people that are in need. Civil engineering provides a wide range of services such as supplying clean water, improving transportation, building towers or bridges, and many other sustainable developments. As an engineer, I am very good with math and love to help students with problem solving, computations, numerical problems, and other aspects of mathematics. During my training in college, I was a teacher assistant that graded lab reports, lectured assignments, and answered questions from students. With my experience, I want to continue to help the society and assist students.

I am a true believer in education and that anyone can learn and understand anything that they put their minds to and that with true understanding we can appreciate the world around us to its fullest. I work to bring understanding to my students through observing how they learn and tailoring the instruction to their individual way of learning. I enjoy the feeling of being able to bring true understanding to people.

I have experience tutoring students in Algebra, Elementary & Middle School Math. I also teach High School Math & Chemistry as well. I have been tutoring students for years in 1-on-1 settings and groups of 2. I provide lesson plans for each subject area and tailor it to each students needs. I like to explain the material in a very simple way that would be easy for you to grasp. I have helped many students score high on tests as a result of my teaching methods. They continue to ask for my help to excel in their classes and I enjoy sharing my wealth of knowledge with them. Growing up, I was an Honor Roll student and Dean's List in college. I have my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering. Math was always my favorite subject in school and I loved solving challenging problems in class. My teachers were great mentors to me and their passion encouraged me to pursue my career path. In return, I give back to my community by tutoring others and explaining the great opportunities that awaits them when they do well in school. My students know they can come to me for the guidance they need to succeed. I enjoy helping my students even if it means going the extra mile to make sure they understand the material. The Process: In our first meeting we will discuss where you are, what areas may be challenging to you, and what you understand. In addition, we will discuss how best to approach the assignment and what learning methods work best for you. You will also practice the material until you feel confident with it. We will discuss the expectations of your instructor and the content of your textbook or other course material so that I can make sure we follow the course's path. I am available 7 days a week so please feel free to contact me to schedule a lesson. I look forward to working with you and making your school year a success!
As a dedicated tutor with over 2 years of experience, I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Biology at the New Jersey Institute of Technology as part of the 7-year BS/MD program with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. My passion for teaching is rooted in my desire to help students grasp complex concepts in subjects like High School and College General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and SAT topics. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their curiosity. My approach emphasizes real-world applications to make learning relevant and engaging. I take pride in my ability to connect with students, fostering their confidence and academic success. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing and watching sports such as baseball, basketball, and football. I also enjoy playing the drums and finding new shows to watch on Netflix.
I believe in the beauty and the power of connecting with a subject or an activity for the first time - to grasp how it fits like a puzzle piece into the knowledge you bring with you. A moment of connection like this can click into place like an optometrist's lens and change how you view the world.By chasing that moment, I developed a love for learning early on that helped me excel academically. With the support of my parents, tutors, and teachers, in high school, I graduated in the top 1.6% percent of my class with a 4.51 GPA. I scored near-perfect on both my SAT and PSAT, 5's on seven AP exams, and graduated as a National Merit Finalist and National AP Scholar. These achievements helped me get accepted into medical school out of high school through the NJIT/NJMS BS/MD program. I'm currently working through my BS in Biomedical Engineering at the Albert Dorman Honors College on a full scholarship.I continue to pursue that moment of connection by exploring interests in math and science as well as art and literature. I tinker with electronics and code, I write and edit for my school newspaper, and conduct neuroscience research at my university. As a tutor, an older sibling, and a youth mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, I strive to help as many people get hooked on that moment. I want to help my students cultivate a long-term love for learning by focusing on developing a deep appreciation for any topic that they study. Work that goes into this helps develop skills in both critically analyzing and synthesizing information - which are also key for excelling on standardized tests.I'm excited by learning and doing. Let's discover new things together!
I am an active college student, seeking a degree in data science. As a passionate tutor, I believe knowledge is extremely important. Spreading and gaining knowledge is the key to success, and I am blessed with the opportunity to share key insight with my future students.
I want to provide students with a rich learning experience by providing them the opportunity to freely experience themselves without judgement and the chance to see practical real world applications of math!
I have a strong passion for teaching. I think the right teacher can make a huge difference, I have taught and tutored for the last 8 years of my life, and I hope that I will be a good fit for you!I think the most important thing is finding a tutor that works with your strengths and weaknesses. I like to spend the first time meeting a student really figuring out where the disconnect is with a subject, sometimes the problem is not the new material, but a stronger foundation in previous classes is needed.Professionally I have mostly tutored math for the last several years, but within my friends I tutored physics and other STEM courses through my academic career.I have a BS in civil engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, an MS from Stevens Institute of Technology and I am currently pursuing a PhD in civil engineering.
Here's a version under 1000 characters (this one's about 970): As an incoming Ph.D. student in Computer Systems Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a recent NJIT graduate in Computer Science with a Minor in Applied Mathematics (GPA: 3.876, Dean's Scholar), I have a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. As a Math Tutor at NJIT's Math Tutoring Center, I worked with over 100 students across Calculus I/II/III, Statistics, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Real Analysis, leading review sessions and personalized instruction that sharpened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly. My research in machine learning and my work reviving NJIT's math club shape how I teach: I meet learners where they are. With Varsity Tutors, I aim to make math engaging, accessible, and confidence-building so every student reaches their full potential.
