I am currently working towards finishing my medical residency in psychiatry and hope to specialize in child /adolescent psychiatry .I believe a good education is the foundation necessary to excel in our professional life and it is a privilege for me to work with the scholars of tomorrow to help them achieve their goals. Throughout my college career at Northeastern University in Boston I have always found time to get involved with teaching opportunities. I was a tutor at a Health Sciences Academy after school program where I spend time working with 9th and 10th graders on activities such as their homework, science projects, and computer labs. I have also worked with a younger age group as a member of a pre-school Head Start program and engaged the children in activities such as introduction to reading and writing, play-time, and development of social skills. After college, I worked as a teacher at a facility geared towards developing cognitive and functional skills in adults with various mental health issues. I have had the pleasure of working with clients of varying age groups and skills. My experiences have always been rewarding and teaching has remained one of my passions to this day.My philosophy when it comes to teaching revolves around preparedness, patience, and empathy. I believe that there is no subject one cannot learn with enough time and effort. I enjoy teaching various subjects such as Biology, Physiology, and Psychology. Regardless of the subject matter I first analyze the student’s strength and weaknesses and develop my curriculum to best suit the students needs. I believe there is always a way to teach even the most complicated material in a palatable manner. Also, as a future physician, I have well-developed interpersonal skills so I always take into account the feedback and emotional needs of my client. I strive to achieve the most nurturing and productive learning environment and gage my success by my client’s eagerness to learn and master the subject at hand. Lastly, I believe that learning should be fun and successes celebrated so that as the student continues on his journey of academic pursuit he will have a sense of pride and knowledge that no goal is unattainable. I look forward to joining you in this journey and making your academic goals a reality

I have been a business professor and a business tutor for over 10 years. My aim is to discern the individual learning styles of my students and to work with each of them in a manner that addresses his/her individual style. I am a dedicated Master's student in Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University with a strong academic record, graduating magna cum laude from Northeastern with my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering this past May. I have diverse and extensive laboratory experience across various fields, which allows me to explain abstract concepts using a variety of real-world examples, making learning more engaging and relatable for students! I have been a camp counselor for over 5 years, working with kids from ages 8-15, so I understand how to communicate with a student to make them feel heard, but also understood, which is such an important part of tutoring work. I love to teach and have a high level of interest in anything STEM-related, specifically in the fields of Chemistry and Math. In my free time, you can find me playing the violin, broadcasting on live radio for my college's sports teams, or skiing all winter!

I hold a degree in Criminal Justice and am pursuing an additional degree in Computer Science. In my spare time, I'm an avid baseball fan (go Yankees!), movie buff, and bookworm. I enjoy working on my computer and spending time with my fiancé on the weekends.

As a Mathematics student at Northeastern University and co-founder of Tutor Chat, teaching has been a central part of my life for years. What began as helping classmates grew into a passion for guiding students through the process of learning how to think, not just what to think. At Tutor Chat, we focused on building perseverant problem-solving skills, encouraging students to stay curious, work through challenges, and develop confidence in their own reasoning. I have tutored students across a wide range of ages and ability levels, particularly in mathematics, and I've learned that the most meaningful progress happens when students feel supported, understood, and capable. My approach is patient, structured, and encouraging. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps while helping students see the bigger picture, so they don't just memorize methods but truly understand the material. Beyond subject knowledge, I emphasize creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. I believe mistakes are one of the most powerful learning tools, and I work to reframe frustration into productive exploration. My goal is always to leave students more confident in their abilities than when they started. Through Varsity Tutors, I hope to continue helping students build both academic skills and self-assurance, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed far beyond a single assignment or test.
SWBAT or Students will be able to is what I base my teaching/tutoring on. Making every student excel

This role single-handedly sparked my passion for teaching and tutoring! After graduating, I worked as a clinical research assistant in the Integrative Rheumatology and Orthopedic Center at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. After working in this role for two years after graduation, I entered medical school at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, an MD program in Camden, New Jersey.Since beginning medical school, I have become extensively involved in teaching and mentorship programs for the local youth of the underserved Camden area. I also currently work as a self-employed tutor, and I currently work with additional private clients of all ages. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Human Biology, Genetics, Anatomy, and Physiology.I believe in making every experience a learning experience, and my passion is to give my students the confidence and skills to tackle difficult material. I have a holistic approach, using multiple methods of teaching, including visual aids, mnemonics, memory hooks, videos, practice questions, and even having the student repeat back to me the material he or she has just learned. As a future physician, I try to focus on the real-life relevance of all the material we learn, and always bring the textbook material to situations outside the classroom. As someone who is a non-traditional learner, I exercise patience, understanding, flexibility to accommodate each student's individual learning style. As a wellness and mental-health advocate, try to understand the student's headspace, as I understand how stressful and high-pressure school can be. During my sessions, I will always make time for teaching mindfulness exercises and test-taking anxiety mitigation tips to help my students succeed in all realms of education! In my spare time, I enjoy, pilates, running, field hockey, and traveling the world!

I recently graduated from Bard College at Simon's Rock with a BA in Physics and Visual Studies. My research areas in Physics include quantum optics and geophysics, particularly about entanglement and the Earth's inner core, respectively. My focus in Visual Studies is lens arts and film studies with a strong lean towards formalism. The two disciplines may seem very unrelated to you, but it is the combination of the two that makes me a great student and teacher! A few fun facts about my college experience: I actually finished high school in 3 years and began college a year earlier than usual, and I studied abroad in Scotland (University of Glasgow) and the Czech Republic (Film Academy of Prague) during my junior year!My teaching experience include peer tutoring during my college years, working with both individual students and entire classes on college-level physics, math, and Spanish. Just after receiving my BA, I designed and taught my first full course on Climate Change at the 10th grade level. We covered all sorts of material, including the Physics and Chemistry of the atmosphere and ocean, all the way to a Model UN simulation to discuss global policies!I am moving onto a PhD program in Physics at Northeastern University, but I hope to continue to teaching throughout and after the program. I love helping students reach their potential. The pride and joy of watching my students come to an understanding with new concepts, develop a love for new disciplines, and find passion for learning -- it is the most beautiful thing I have experienced. And it's all thanks to you, the amazing, bright, and motivated students!
I am a college student looking to help fellow students who are in middle school through high school get to the next stages of their lives. Mark's teaching journey began while he was getting his bachelor's degree in elementary education and computer science from Boston College. After landing his first job in the Boston public school system, he knew he was in it for the long haul! He is currently working in a new position in Natick, MA.Mark's tutoring style is centered on empathy. When working with students, he asks himself: "If I know nothing about this, how would I present this so it could make sense to the weakest performing student?" He gathers as much information about his students' learning styles as possible in order to plan the best path forward. Spontaneity and humor are also tools in his teaching repertoire. "Humor is essential for helping people overcome obstacles, in learning and in life," he says. While in college, Mark taught at a private learning center for children who struggle with learning differences. He also nurtured his love of film, music, and sports.Self-Bio:Graduated from Boston College with a double major in education and math/computer science.
