I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University and my master's degree in psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from San Diego State University. I have been a teaching assistant for undergraduates and have clinical experience working with children and teenagers, both typically developing and with autism spectrum disorder. The subjects I tutor are varied, but I focus on statistics and mathematics through pre-calculus along with test preparation and essay writing. I am also available to tutor psychology and German (beginner- and intermediate-level). My son is currently a second-year student in college studying Biochemistry with a pre-med emphasis. He is my greatest success story. I genuinely believe that when students are struggling much of the time they are overwhelmed. This can be due to many factors. I use many scaffolding techniques to help my students out. Scaffolding is a technique in which a teacher takes a lesson apart in smaller chunks and reintroduces the information to the student. I have been teaching 7th and 8th-grade math for several years. I have also been tutoring math students from 6th grade to 10th grade in math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. I like to let the student drive the tutoring session. If you just want someone to validate your answers, teach you a different way, or just sit and work the problems together, I'm your person! I like to talk about sports and rollercoasters. I don't want to be just your tutor--I want to be your math advocate as you progress through your math classes.

I am currently enrolled in university, to pursue a degree in microbiology. In high school, I often tutored elementary and middle school kids in reading, writing, and math. I would love the opportunity to tutor you!

I am a graduate from Northern Arizona University. I got my degree in Special and Elementary Education. This is my 6th year of teaching. I am a first and second grade special education teacher. Looking forward in helping you achieve your cultural, knowledge, and academic goals!!I am from Guadalajara Jalisco, Mxico and I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Education from Northern Arizona University as well as my Master's Degree.I've been teaching Spanish for ten years now. Through my teaching experience, I've had the opportunity to travel and meet amazing people!! Being a Spanish teacher has not only given me the chance to teach others my language but also the chance to learn about other languages and cultures.Learning a foreign language is not easy. It really takes quite a bit of work. The class will mainly be conducted in Spanish. You will be expected to speak in Spanish as much as possible. We all learn from mistakes and this is especially true when learning a foreign language!

My name is Lisa Hamilton. I am a highly experienced teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-8) and Special Education, Emotional Disabilities (K-12). I also have a Masters of Education in Secondary Education, Mathematics (7-12).I have taught for 31 years, teaching 4th-12th grade, regular education and special education. The last 20 years, I have taught math, grades 7-12. I have taught all levels of math.I have tutored privately for various families for the last 20 years, and I currently tutor middle and high school math students. I have also tutored a few students in college, Calculus I and Calculus II being the highest levels. I have tutored some in Science, History, and English. I have extensive experience with students who need motivational, organizational and/or time management help. I have also worked with students taking online classes who need these skills, as well as math assistance. I enjoy seeing students accomplish goals and concepts that they did not think possible. I enjoy seeing students enjoy learning and becoming empowered by what they can accomplish. I have frequently told my students that my job is to work myself out of a job; I want them to learn how to learn so they no longer need me! I have reached this point with many of my students, and it makes for a great ending.I really enjoy a lot of "Nerdy" things; Star Wars and Harry Potter are two of my biggest "Fandoms"! I love games and puzzles and find math to be one of those. I have raised four amazing adults and love being a grandma! I love the outdoors, camping and hiking are my favorites. I love to cook and spend time with family and friends. I am also a football fan and love the Green bay Packers!I look forward to the next great adventure!
