I tell my kids all the time that words are the most powerful tool we have. As human beings, our ability to communicate is part of the reason we're at the top of the food chain. In my humble opinion, words are the only thing powerful enough to both hurt and destroy, heal and empower.From a young age, words fascinated me and I've spent most of my life studying, teaching, and communicating my passion for the English language.I have a B.A in English Literature from St. Cloud State University where I studied literature, creative writing, and linguistics. I have graduate level coursework and experience in English Studies where I taught and studied English Composition. Additionally, I studied English theory and history, as well as writing center and small group education. I worked as a Graduate Level Writing Consultant and was the Assistant Director of a writing center.I am passionate about writing and the many ways words are used. I also completed one year of graduate works in the East Asian Studies department. I studied through a mail corresponding course in teaching Japanese. I have lived in the USA for over 14 years and can speak English and Japanese fluently. I tutor Japanese Language. Helping English speakers to understand Japanese language and culture has been very fun and rewarding experiences because it helps to me understand further about the cultural differences and similarities through understanding these different language systems. For hobbies, I like painting, guitar, and taking my two big Akita dogs to the beautiful parks in Colorado.

I am a driven person who doesn't easily back down from a difficult problem. Graduated from Saint Cloud State University with a Bachelors of Science in physics, I tackle problems that require time and patience to solve them and a will to keep at it. I have tutored students in both mathematics and physics since the two subjects go hand in hand. My tutoring style involves assessing what the student knows about the subject and using that information to build a plan to expand their knowledge using an active learning approach. When I'm not doing physics, I like to go biking, play electric bass, go disc golfing, play video games, and reading philosophy texts.

Hi there, my name is Max! I've spend the majority of my life in the central Minnesota area. I attended high school in Elk River, MN and am currently student teaching through St. Cloud State University. I expect to receive a BS in 5th-12th Grade General Science/Chemistry Education this spring.I've spent my time at St. Cloud State studying various subjects with a focus on math, chemistry, biology and other sciences. I received my Bachelor of Science in Physics with a focus on Astrophysics, I also have a degree in Chemistry. While in college I tutored Physics and Calculus and after I graduated I traveled to Russia to get my certificate to Teach English as a Second language and also to teach adults, teenagers and small children where I was also able to teach a Spanish class. I am a undergraduate student attending Saint Cloud State University. I am in my sophomore year and am currently going to school for electrical engineering but am planning on also double majoring in mathematics. I began Tutoring in college at Saint Cloud State University while I was a sophomore majoring in biomedical sciences. I began tutoring general chemistry and quickly found it enjoying as kids who cared to learn came to seek help.I quickly went from large study groups to one on one tutoring during my junior and senior years.But I wasn't always someone who like to study notes and read books. It wasn't until my junior year when I met a mentor who changed how I would look at the rest of my career. He was an organic chemistry professor who began the class explaining how he got to where he was today. You see most professors are naturally brilliant at the college level. This professor of mine explained how he was just an average joe. He explained that he couldn't learn the same way his peers had while he was an undergrad and so he developed his own style of learning. Today he incorporates a different kind of visual learning that he feels includes all learning types and not just the gifted. I too like to include a white board and visuals to comprehend tough subjects like chemistry and biology.
