Hello, my name is Monika and I am an ecologist from Florida. I graduated with a Master's Degree in Earth and Environmental Resources Management and have my Bachelor's of Science in Zoology with a concentration in Environmental Biology. My forte is science, but I'm great with writing, reading, and math.As a quick background, I began tutoring during my undergrad as a math tutor for freshmen and sophomore students. I was then a teacher's assistant in graduate school for various environmental science courses for two years and absolutely loved the challenges and rewards of the job.

I am a graduate from Southern Illinois University and DePaul university. From SIU I obtained a Bachelor in Arts for Math Education. From DePaul I obtained my Master in Arts for Math Education. I can tutor with all things math related and I have worked with many students from varying degrees of ability and from grades 3rd - College. While tutoring I do my best to make sure you fully understand the material given. I am a firm believer that everyone can do math you just need to learn how. In my spare time I like to read comics and books, do DIY projects around the house, watch TV shows or play video games.
My goal as a tutor is not only to teach content, but also ease test anxiety, build confidence, and empower young people to achieve their goals.

My goal is not only to help students pass the exam, but also to ensure they truly understand the concepts that will shape their careers in the insurance industry. I bring patience, clarity, and real-world examples into every session, creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. Whether working with first-time test takers or professionals seeking recertification, I focus on breaking down complex material, reinforcing key exam topics, and building test-taking strategies that lead to success. Your success is my mission and I'm committed to guiding you every step of the way.
Writing is my passion. I love guiding middles school throughh college students in one-on-one tutoring, helping them develop their own voice on the page. It's exciting to assist others as they discover new things about themselves through writing, opening creative vistas to their future potential. Writing is the basis for all education: it develops critical thinking skills, encourages "big picture" thinking, and preps students for life in "the real world." Every student has something to offer through their inherent abilities to tell stories. My job is to help a student to be their best self, using writing as that conduit to better self-understanding and self-awareness. I have strong experience working with ADHD students--as I have it myself so I "get it." Also worked with students on autism spectrums.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Affairs from Mercer University in May of 2013. I then went on to receive my Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University in May 2017. At the moment, I am not working towards earning another degree.I tutored Spanish after receiving my degree in Spanish and before receiving my law degree. Also, I was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher during undergraduate school.Beginning Spanish and ESL are my only tutoring subjects. I love tutoring Spanish because it is a beautiful language with a vibrant culture. Practically speaking I tutor Spanish because in today's world it is beneficial to be bilingual. Which is why I also enjoy teaching ESL. Another reason I enjoy teaching ESL is it increases my tutoring capabilities of Spanish.I would describe my tutoring style as personal. When I was a student, my best teachers were the ones who listened to their students needs and taught us in the most helpful manner possible.Outside of work, I enjoy listening to live music, pretty much any kind of live music. I love reading supernatural, sarcastic, and historical books. And I absolutely love movies. I am a big fan of all the superhero movies and shows coming out as of late. But my favorite thing to do has to be exploring the city with my friends.
I am a geologist and science enthusiast with over 10 years of real world experience in the industry. I have tutored countless students since my undergraduate studies and have a passion for helping students succeed.
My educational philosophy is that of Gusteau from Ratatouille - everybody can learn. I believe that many of the traditional ways of teaching are good, but they don't always work for everyone. I will work with you and your student to find ways to help the information make sense to them.
I have been in the fire service for 45 years and now retired. I retired as fire chief and I always enjoyed helping firefighters to improve themselves. My favorite was preparing them for oral interviews. This was for new firefighters or for promotional opportunities. I also would help them take tests for different certificates (ie. EMT/Paramedic). I have taught many classes over the years dealing with fire science and emergency medicine. I have always had a strong passion to help others and I take extreme joy knowing that they have achieved their goals.

I'm a full-time engineer with Harley-Davidson with a masters degree in mechanical engineering. While I was pursuing said degree, I was a teaching assistant. It was the experiences in that position made me fully realize how rewarding it is to help people learn.
Fourteen years of teaching in various countries has taught me that learning is a reciprocal process with teachers and students both contributing necessary and invaluable input. I left a financial career to pursue one in education because I sought a more communicative, interactive, and rewarding way to positively impact society. Using my own student experience as a guide, a primary goal of mine is to share my passion for learning and knowledge to help others reach their potential. My career change from finance to education, language, and literature is precisely what distinguishes my background and broadens my knowledge base with which to tutor. My undergraduate major in Accounting provided a technical base largely focused on logic, problem-solving, and factual concepts. Complementing this quantitative foundation with a graduate liberal arts degree in English also relied on logic, but qualitatively enhanced my ability to synthesize and express information with more insight and clarity. Therefore, my two academic areas converge into a holistic view of education which I consider integral to my language teaching ability. Language supports other subjects in any number of ways: visually by words or image, aurally, or kinesthetically in our efforts to comprehend or communicate information. In teaching English language acquisition, reading, writing, and test preparation, I saw that these subjects overlap and correlate rather than exist as isolated categories possessing separate skill-sets. My teaching experience in Asia, North and South America has been enhanced by an exposure to different perspectives on teaching, learning, and socio-cultural dynamics. Encountering learning styles and customs from China, Mexico, the Middle East, and the U.S. encouraged both my communication and teaching styles to become flexible, student-centered, and responsive.Traveling widely during my time abroad also deepened my belief that active, personalized, hands-on examples or experiential learning provide the most beneficial aspects of education. Most subjects overlap within the knowledge acquisition process so a critical thinking approach to any subject will enhance overall learning capacity. I believe that my broad and varied academic, professional, and personal history enables the creative, innovative, and multifaceted approach to learning that our contemporary environment demands for students to succeed in their preparation for the future.
As a young woman with a passionate interest in helping others improve their lives, I earned my first bachelor's degree in Education, followed by a second in Interior Design. Though I loved teaching, my affinity for creative business endeavors led me to pursue Interior Design. After working for many years with my own company in Interior Design, I found myself ready to explore new horizons in the corporate world of real estate. My family was and is still heavily involved for many years in both residential sales and development, as well as a few have migrated into commercial real estate sales and development. In Phoenix, I worked with a real estate company specializing in new home sales, working with both new home buyers and residential real estate investors. As I built my real estate clientele, I grew and developed my own investment real estate company with more than 30 agents in Scottsdale, AZ in the mid 2000's. This unfolded through my participation in AZREIA, one of the nation's largest personal real estate investment associations at that time. I held workshops, spoke at the National Convention for 3 years, was an Instructor with the Commercial Real Estate Institute, and wrote monthly newsletter articles for the Association's Monthly Newsletter over a four-year period.I was featured as a Master Investor on the cover of Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine, and also as Broker of the month in Broker Magazine, and was a sought-after speaker and advisor within the real estate investment community. I appeared on radio, and in front of national audiences, discussing not only real estate investment, but also personal development, and the virtues of also investing in oneself, in all areas of true wealth. Personal Development is one of my passions and in my free time, taking self-improvement classes brings me joy.

I came to the US from China in my early 20s to pursue further education. I work full time and have been living in St. Louis in the state of Missouri since 2014. Before that, I'd lived in Illinois, New Jersey, and New York for years due to school and work. Although my current last name is German due to my marriage, I never forget where I'm from originally and what my heritage means to me. My native language is Mandarin Chinese and I have a strong passion in helping people improve their Chinese language skills. I always believe being able to speak and understand another language opens another door for a person. When I was in graduate school, I worked part-time as a tutor for a US professor who studied Chinese during his spare time. I was delighted to see him improve his Chinese skills! I also tutored several elementary school students in the past. I'd like to help more people improve their Chinese language skills.

Hi, I'm Rhonda, and I love helping students master literature and composition. I can help students improve their performance in virtually every class by enhancing their motivation and desire to learn. All it takes is one good teacher ... one good tutor, and one really good book suggestion, something suggested by someone who really SEES into the student. I can pick that book that turns a resistant, reluctant reader into an avid one--like magic. That's because this is what I am meant to do. I am also an awesome former entrance committee member who can help you get into the school of your dreams because I know what they want to see in that application packet.
