Hi there! I'm Christina, I love to find creative ways to teach each of my students based on their specific learning needs. Due to a collective 6+ years of tutoring mathematics to students of all grade levels, I am able to easily scaffold previous years' concepts that may be needed in order to to excel. I tutor from kindergarten math to Algebra I. I also love tutoring tests for higher learning; SAT & ACT Math, ISEE, SSAT all levels, and more. I have an AA degree in Biology and a B.S. with a minor in childhood education. I tutored math in my college's math lab,. a community resource center, and Varsity Tutors. For Biology, I found and sorted images of over 150 species to bolster my professor's lectures when in college. Don't worry, from 1st grade math to Algebra 1, SAT/ACT math, even mastering the Verbal, Reading, Writing, & Math for high school placement exams, what seems difficult, we can make easy together! :)

My more than 30 years teaching experiences in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United States, have given me an understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism and diverse learning styles that better enable me to interact with students.I am a graduate of Boston University (M.A. International Relations) and Saint Michael's College (M.A. Teaching English as a Second Language).I specialize in teaching business communications and English language skills.

Nothing gives me more joy than sparking the minds of young learners who are struggling with learning.I have lots of experience working with students over the past twenty-five years. That is around 1,500 students that I have taught through the years.I have a bachelor's and master's in education from various colleges. My most recent degree is working with students who have moderate disabilities. I also have a Second Language Endorsement from Massachusetts called SEI.Truthfully, every child learns differently. Not all students need the same things to be successful to learn the same material. I am here to help your student become a great learner. I am here to make connections or bridge learning with my students.I use positivity using a "growth mindset" from Carol Dweck. I celebrate the successes no matter how big. These connections sometimes take a little bit longer than others...that is OK. I believe in all my students' potential. My approach to teaching is a bit more creative and more directed at the needs of the child to help them learn. For a child to be successful, I really believe that we as teachers need to meet these students at their level. This is super important. This helps students feel the value of what they are learning and feel those successes sooner than later.If I notice something concerning a student's learning, I will work with the parents or district to assist in getting the student the help that they need. I am here to support ALL of you. Think of my work as building a bridge of support; this reduces the gap in learning instead of creating a learning slide. This is where students become less engaged in learning for a whole variety of reasons.

I am a graduate of Springfield College. I received my Bachelor of Science in Dance and Nutrition. During my college years, I volunteered as a tutor for students from the middle school level to adults. Since graduation, I moved to Florida where I started my career in teaching and obtained my teaching certification. My first three years I worked as a pre-school teacher, and the last eight years I have been a high school teacher, having taught Spanish I, II, III, and AP Spanish.While I have tutored a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the Spanish language, because I am a native speaker from Puerto Rico.In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests and/or classes, we always seem to enjoy each others company while creating positive results. I have a strong love for the field of education, and I believe that through tutorials I can help each student one at a time with their individual needs. Every person is a different type of learner with different personal goals; sometimes a little aide from a tutor is all the student needs to succeed.In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, dancing, and writing.
