Hello! I recently graduated this past May from Stetson University down in DeLand, FL with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Nonprofit Administration, along with a minor in Music. I grew up in Winter Springs, FL, and graduated from Winter Springs High School as the Valedictorian of my class in 2011. I have been tutoring math since my sophomore year of high school, and during my time at Stetson University, I worked as a student tutor for the Mathematics Department for three years, tutoring calculus, probability, statistics, and finite mathematics. I also tutored independently, tutoring middle school and high school students in Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. I love numbers, and want you to as well!Beyond my background in math, I have several other interests as well. I have been a musician since the sixth grade when I first started playing the tuba. I have a passion for volunteering and nonprofit organizations, and have spent much time with one nonprofit in particular, Habitat for Humanity, both in the office setting and on build sites as well. I enjoy biking and running, as well as spending time in the mountains. My friends would describe me as friendly and goofy, as I never give up the opportunity to reference random Youtube videos in every day conversations, and revel in making others laugh. I love tutoring, and enjoy helping students accomplish their goals.I am now attending Duke University to pursue a Master of Public Policy, a track studying the quantitative analysis behind policy decisions. I will focus on social policy and international development.

Education has been my dream career since I was eight years old! I was always inspired by the educators who laid the foundations of my learning - I was even fortunate enough to teach beside some of them. It was through these individuals that I learned what an amazing path opens through education. I want to inspire the same curiosity and desire in the students I work with every school year! In 2006, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. In 2019, I earned my Master of Science in Education, with a focus on reading, from Arkansas State University. My teaching career has included 18 years of teaching everything from VPK, to third grade, to all levels of high school English. For the past five years, I've taught Advanced Placement Langage and Composition, Advanced Placement Literature and Composition, and International Baccalaureate Langage A: Literature. I can tutor for Reading at all levels and am comfortable preparing students for their high school-level English courses. I am particularly proficient in tutoring for A.P. and I.B. English! I believe that learners develop knowledge by connecting current experiences to past experiences. Each child is unique, and their background can help to guide their learning. Understanding their backgrounds helps inform my teaching and bridge the gap between what they know and upon which information they need to expand. Students that I teach and tutor can look forward to engaging in learning activities and discussions to build meaningfully on their knowledge base. They will also learn to reflect on their proficiencies and needs to help build their confidence in learning. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy taking walks with my dog and searching for seaglass on the beach. I can also be found reading a dystopian or mystery novel from my neverending personal reading list!

I love to learn and hope to share some my enthusiasm for learning new things. I want to match your pace and break down each part until it clicks. And if there's something I don't know, I'll gladly go searching for the answer.I have the most experience working with younger readers to get them up to speed. However, my interests are varied, and I actually double majored in Business Administration and Management, which are the kinds of subjects I'll be focusing on here.I love when something I couldn't quite grasp before suddenly makes perfect sense, and I love sharing that aha moment with someone else even more.

I am an investments analyst with a strong, demonstrated track record of academic and professional success, and I love helping students achieve the same. I was a tutor for fellow classmates in college and while studying for the first level of the CFA exam. I attended Stetson University, while majoring in both finance and economics. Today I tutor finance and economics, FINRA exam prep, accounting and grade school math. My life philosophy, along with tutoring style is "learn by failing". This is a safe place where failing in encouraged and I will help coach you though any challenges you have by asking you to think and work problems in a way that will deepen the understanding to commit to short term memory, but long term memory as well. I look forward to working with you and am always committed to helping in any way I can.

I am a Math and Science tutor, mostly physics but other sciences too. I have always loved being able to help others learn, it always makes me feel really proud when I am able to explain a subject to someone and they understand it for the first time. I have been a tutor privately since high school when I was able to help my friends and classmates understand subjects in a way that the teachers could not. I then was hired by my undergraduate university, Stetson University, to tutor math and physics of lower level classes in my second year. I continued tutoring there through my remaining years at the university before graduating with a bachelors of science in math, a bachelors of science in physics, and a bachelors of art in psychology. When I moved on to graduate school at the University of Central Florida, I began teaching in classrooms for the undergraduate students attending the university. I taught Physics 1 and 2 both with and without calculus for the 3 years it took me to receive my Masters of science in Physics. After that I decided to move over to Aerospace Engineering to get a Masters and then continue on to my PhD, which is what I am currently in school for. I always feel that the best way to learn is by having fun with the subject. Math can be really fun and I love to share my enthusiasm for it. I am able to help explain math in ways that work for people with dyscalculia, which is dyslexia for math. I also think that the best way to explain physics and other sciences is relating it to everyday things. Physics is just the study of the world around us and applying math to that. Chemistry is just our study of the make up of things and how elements themselves react. Biology is the way we study living things. All of the science subjects can be looked at in the simplest terms and it can be understood by anyone!
I believe every student can succeed in biology and math with the right support and approach. My teaching philosophy focuses on building strong foundations, encouraging critical thinking, and helping students gain confidence in their abilities. Rather than just giving answers, I guide students through concepts step-by-step so they truly understand the material. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in chemistry, and have extensive experience working with complex scientific concepts and breaking them into clear, manageable ideas. I also support math skills that are essential for success in science courses. What makes me an effective tutor is my ability to adapt to each student's learning style and create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged. My goal is to help students not only improve academically, but also feel confident tackling new challenges independently.
I graduated with a bachelors degree in History from Stetson University and am preparing for law school. I also work as an academic advisor at a community college and have met many high school students who struggle with AP and college level work. I enjoy helping others discover how fascinating our past and the written word can be. I specialize in tutoring English, US History, and World History including AP. Due to my ADHD, I also understand the struggles that come from trying to make your brain work when that "oh shiny!" moment hits and losing focus. Learning how to focus, retain the important information, and recall it are areas where I will help you improve and succeed! Helping students overcome their barriers and obstacles, making content relatable and accessible, and developing your understanding in terms that work for you are all areas I excel in.
