Beginning with summers spent at a remote wilderness camp, overseeing a rambunctious cabin and leading extensive expeditions, and leading into my study of education, writing, communication and social work in college (alongside theatre, dance and music), I've continually found opportunities to involve myself in teaching and counseling.I started The Writer's Workshop, a tutoring program for young writers in the community surrounding Millikin University, a housing project in Ecuador for displaced mothers and children, and a freelance business as a casting director specializing in kids and on-set performance coaching.I tutored at Bread & Roses Advocacy Center in college, was the Spanish teacher for the afterschool K-6th A.C.E. program (Associates in Cultural Exchange), created and edited material for the online education company Apex Learning, ran an afterschool arts program at Sayre Beacon High School, and instructed youth skiing at the Canyons Resort (now Park City Mountain).
