I'm a baritone. I'm majoring in classical vocal performance. I did my undergraduate at New England Conservatory, and then I did my master at New York University. I had experience of singing in choir for four years in my undergraduate at NEC. I had experiences of singing in two operas when did my master at NYU. In many years of learning voice, I've got solid vocal technique, and skills of singing different genre of music in different languages. I mastered English, German, and French diction as well. I could explain vocal technique as clear as possible, and try to explain it in different way to make sure the student could understand. I'm also sensitive in music, I could perceive the nuance in the singing of students, and give the students some good suggestion to express their emotions better.

I strongly value the power of intrinsic motivation in learningthat is, the power of learning for the sake of learning, rather than for external factors like good grades or others' approval. I believe that when youth and adults alike view school or learning as something to suffer through for a distant goal in the future (a "no pain no gain" mindset), their willpower eventually wears thin in times of stress and hardship. Teaching people to like to learn and succeed in a way that works for them gives them a value that lasts throughout life. I feel that I have been successful in teaching this message to my students in the past, and indeed saw encouraging results come from it.

I am current student at the New England Conservatory pursuing my Masters degree in Music Composition. I received my Bachelors from NYU in Music Theory/Composition.For four summers, I worked as a counselor at a computer camp, where I taught students aged 6-11 website design, Scratch programming, and movie making. I've also worked as a Writing Center tutor, and have informally tutored friends in music theory. My teaching philosophy is that one has to want to learn something for its own sake in order to truly get the most value out of it. Whatever I am teaching, I try my best to impart the importance and beauty of the thing itself.
