I received my PhD in developmental psychology from the University of California, Riverside. I received my bachelor???s degree in psychology and religious studies from Boston University. I tutor individuals in psychology and GRE prep. I have taught undergraduate classes in Intro Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Statistics. I have also spent 6 years as a teaching assistant for many undergraduate classes in psychology. When teaching and tutoring students, I focus on conversation, allowing the students the opportunity to truly understand the material and internalize it through a back and forth. While I expect my students to be prepared, I do not expect them to learn on their own. The purpose of tutoring is to come to an understanding of the material together.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from Western Washington University with a focus on material science. The subsequent year I graduated from the University of California Riverside with a master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I have been tutoring for over four years, working with a wide variety of students. During my undergraduate studies I tutored gifted high school students looking to excel in AP and IB classes as well as on the SAT to prepare them for a strong college career. I also spent considerable time with college students in my field and similar programs. Students have always given positive reviews when I ask them about the experience, commenting that the time was enjoyable and that learning came naturally. In my opinion, this is the best way to truly learn something. Outside of the classroom, I have a large set of hobbies and interests. I enjoy basketball, tennis, road biking, mountain biking, skiing, running, chess, working on my car, watching football, and going to the gym.

I graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics - Applied Mathematics/Economics and a minor in Statistics. I love math and want to use what I have learned to help others succeed in math classes. As part of my experience in college, I was a supplemental instruction leader and involved in math reader programs, which developed my teaching skills in different levels of mathematics. I am originally from South San Francisco, California. Shortly after obtaining my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of California, Riverside, I worked as a manufacturing specialist with the world's leading pharmaceutical company. I spent some time there understanding how I wanted to use the experience and my education to promote public health and medical technology. Such questioning led me to Boston. I am currently pursuing my master's in Regulatory Affairs at Northeastern University in hopes of developing breakthrough medical technology with quality, safety, and effectiveness.My tutoring experiences range from formal/professional sessions with clients to informal meetings with classmates. I worked as a pre-calculus tutor for one year. I have participated in many after-school recreation programs which included tutoring a large variety of subjects. During my undergraduate studies, I would typically hold informal classes on subjects I strongly understood with friends and colleagues. Lastly, I spent one summer teaching the basics of engineering to elementary and middle school student via hands-on projects, using real-life tools.I love to teach math (up through Calculus) and science (Biochemistry, Biology) because it is challenging. I noticed most students have a hard time with STEM subjects. However, I believe that everything is possible. I received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California. Since graduating from UCR's chemistry program, I have gained academia and industry experience in the field of chemistry, with my focus for the last four years being on high school chemistry education. I currently have my teaching certificate to teach chemistry and composite science for grades 7-12 in Texas and for the past four years taught all levels of chemistry (on-level, advanced, AP, IB and organic chemistry) at Lamar High School in Arlington, TX. I am passionate about Chemistry (and science in general), English and Math. My absolute favorite subject is chemistry (and has been ever since I took my first chemistry class in high school) because while it is possible to master its foundations and key concepts, the field of chemistry is ever expanding and changing our views of the world. As a result, I always feel like there is more to learn when it comes to the field of chemistry, which makes it that much more interesting. Through my Ph.D. studies and employment as an adjunct chemistry professor at Tarrant County College in Hurst, TX, I also have the experience and passion to facilitate learning chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate level. I hold a BA in History from the University of California Riverside (graduating in 2 years) and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Southern California specializing in health education. I just completed 2 years of a 6-year BS/MD program with Cleveland State University and Northeast Ohio Medical School with a 3.95 GPA. I am a dedicated student who enjoy teaching fellow classmates along with volunteering in the community.Prior to moving to Ohio, I participated in the highly-selective program known as Teach for America. Teach for America sends the brightest young college students to some of the lowest performing schools in the country with a minimum commitment of two years. I stayed a total of four years at my placement school. During that time I made tremendous gains with my students, focusing on AP exams, the ACT exam, and college entry programs. I had the highest pass rate in both the AP Calculus and AP Statistics exams in the school's history along with an average of a 4 point increase among the students that took his after school ACT Prep program.I firmly believes that if given the opportunity and the right environment students can learn anything.I look forward to working with families and students to strive for the best in themselves and in doing so, hopes to help them realize their dreams and ultimately their full potentials.

I am a graduate of University of California Riverside with a Bachelor of Science in biology. I am currently working in a Microbiology laboratory and I am also looking to attend graduate school in the future.All throughout my academic career, I have been very interested in math and sciences. My interest eventually led me to pursue a degree in biology. Biology, along with subjects such as math and physics are the areas of study which I am fluent in. I have always appreciated education and the many ways it is relevant to our life. I am a recent college graduate from UC Riverside with a BA in Psychology. Being able to say that I have a college education is a privilege and an honor to me because I feel I am making a difference in my life and my family's life being the first one to graduate from college.
