I am a 3rd year at the University of Georgia majoring in Human Development and Family Science with a physician's assistant intent. I have done intensive coursework in biology, chemistry, and anatomy. I love explaining difficult science concepts in a way that is easier and simpler to understand. I pride myself on personalizing each tutoring session to the individual goals and interests of the students.I have also spent 6 months tutoring elementary schoolers, giving me experience tutoring elementary age students in all subjects. Seeing students truly understand material and not just memorize it is my ultimate goal for every tutoring session. I want students to love to learn, and I believe that by getting to know the student and their goals, together we can make learning fun!

Hey Im Dhaivil Patel! I am currently studying at the University of Georgia. I am a Chemical Engineering Major and have experience in a multitude of fields. I started tutoring students in high school as a part of a helping initiative at my school. I am very proficient in the subjects of mathematics and chemistry. I first started enjoying chemistry and mathematics in high school. I noticed that students could enjoy and like a subject just based on who was teaching them. Through this, I try to incorporate different styles of teaching to imitate the styles that allowed me to enjoy these subjects. Some examples of this include providing explanations of diagrams and going into why this occurs instead of memorizing. I also provide scaffolding and support for problems and slowly remove them as the student becomes more proficient in the topic area. I believe that if a student enjoys learning a certain subject, no matter the difficulty of the subject itself, they will be able to understand it.I enjoy tutoring as it allows me to meet new people and help others understand a subject. My first experience tutoring involved helping 2-3 kids every week with any math or science related issue. My experience in tutoring mathematics is approximately 3 years, while my experience in chemistry is about 1. This came from helping student in the form of problem sets, teaching them previous material, reviewing for an upcoming test, helping them get ahead, and providing a second style of explanation for something covered during class. My entire motive to become a tutor revolves around making sure that students can become as proficient as me in the subjects of science and math. I am welcome to any criticism as well as any suggestions that I could use to help prepare for sessions. I like to ask the student what they would like to focus on in the future so that I can prepare for the next tutoring session. Feel free to ask any questions, and I hope to be able to tutor you in the future!
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Spanish and am passionate about helping other students learn the language! I have tutored student-athletes through the UGA Athletic Association, and have seen dramatic improvements in students' ability to understand Spanish grammar, mechanics and usage, as well as read, write, and speak in Spanish. I love seeing students get excited as they grasp the language and no longer find it frustrating or confusing!I am also passionate about helping students improve their SAT scores (specifically the Critical Reading and Writing sections), and I love editing essays. I have edited countless essays throughout my academic career--essays for specific classes, college applications, and even job applications. I love taking someone's writing and helping them rephrase sentences, fix grammatical errors, and ensure the most effective communication of ideas. When tutoring for the SAT, I help lessen students' anxiety by teaching them proven test-taking strategies and material specific to the SAT Critical Reading and Writing sections. I will continue to review the material and practice strategies with the student until he/she feels fully confident! I am very conscientious and thorough, and no matter what subject I'm tutoring, I will do everything in my power to help a student understand the material and gain confidence! I will put in time and effort to stay up to date on applicable material/ information, and I will work with each student to tailor my teaching to his/her learning style. I look forward to working with you!
I am a graduate of the University of Georgia, and a current law student working toward a Juris Doctorate at Emory University School of Law. Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science along with a minor in History.During my time as a student at the University of Georgia, I tutored athletes in Political Science 1101 covering nearly every aspect of American Government. In addition to tutoring traditional students, I have experience teaching children outside of an orthodox classroom; I have taught children how to swim, waterski, and wake board during summer camp.Although I edit essays and tutor History, American Government, and Grammar, I enjoy tutoring American Government the most. As a Political Science major, I am passionate about American Government, as I firmly believe that civic knowledge is a keystone of any functioning society.Outside of tutoring and school I enjoy rebuilding car engines, reading epic novels, and playing violin.
I am a graduate from the University of Georgia with a BA in English Literature. I have previously volunteered as a tutor for young Spanish speaking students in Athens, Georgia and recently returned from a year-long ESL teaching position in South Korea. I love to read and hike, and am currently studying German in my free time.
I'm a mother and stepmother who works at Johnson & Johnson. I have a Master's degree in Statistics, taught Intro to Statistics as a Teaching Assistant, previous adjunct professor for Intro Statistics at University of North Florida, and taught statistics training in a work environment. I love animals, my family, and helping people.
I'm a graduate of the University of Georgia where I majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and obtained a minor in Public Health. I currently work as a research scientist at a biomedical research institute. My flair for peer tutoring is the result of retrospection, a gift of my introverted nature. I have realized that there are many concepts across various subjects that I did not fully grasp at the time I was learning them. However, a couple of months and even years after taking those classes, when I finally connected the dots, there are a couple of ways I wish those concepts would have been explained to me. Sometimes I also wish that I would have thought to ask certain questions. As a peer tutor, I hope to prompt you to ask those questions and help you connect those dots so that the learning process can be more fulfilling and enjoyable. Standardized tests do not have to be fearsome mountains either. They can be an exciting experience to demonstrate your knowledge if you understand the concepts. (I say that from my experience as someone who's not the biggest fan of tests.) I look forward to guiding you to succeed, and hopefully, helping you enjoy the journey to success.
As an undergraduate in the Honors Program at the University of Georgia, I studied Physics and Astronomy. During this time I helped found the first laboratory at my university dedicated to the research and development of small satellites, and through this experience I earned an internship at NASA Langley Research Center. After graduating, I completed one year of a PhD program at Georgia Tech in Ocean Science and Engineering, and I am now pursuing my biggest passion, marine conservation, in Wilmington. I began tutoring math, chemistry, and physics back in high school, and have continued since then. In college, I was a peer learning assistant (sort of like a teaching assistant) for a physics class that catered toward non-physics majors. Thus, I am experienced in tutoring both high school and college students with a range of experience in math and science. The subjects I can help with are math (algebra, calculus, and anything in between), physics (high school and college), and even flute and music theory. My favorite subject to help students with is physics, because I enjoy helping people think about problems from new perspectives and empowering them to tackle a subject traditionally seen to be so challenging. When I am tutoring, I operate by the philosophy that everyone is capable of learning new things, and that math and science are not as difficult as they seem on the surface. I always encourage students to believe in their abilities, and I am never judgmental of anyone's learning style and pace. I can successfully guide students to breaking difficult concepts apart into smaller pieces to make them easier to understand. Outside of tutoring, I am a musician, with my main instruments being flute and ukulele. I love hiking, baking, painting, making friends, doing yoga, and reading books. My favorite animal in the world is a humpback whale, and I want to dedicate my life to protecting them and other cetaceans. As a lover of all things math, science, nature, and music, I would love to share my knowledge and passions with anyone who reaches out.
I am currently a junior at the University of Georgia majoring in risk management and insurance. Since high school, I have tutored a wide variety of subjects, ranging from English to science to math to elementary and middle school students. The thrill watching students figure out something that seemed impossible to them at first is exhilarating; it makes me proud. I try to make learning as fun and easy as possible for students since I know some of the material can be challenging and I like to accommodate to each student. I hope to spread my knowledge inside and outside of the classroom. I like to hang out with friends, go shopping, dance and play piano in my free time.
I'm a finance student at the University of Georgia dedicated to helping my students learn math and other skills through practice and hard work. I began my tutoring career at Kumon where I developed a passion to help other students excel in their academic careers. My teaching philosophy is practice, the only to truly master a subject is to practice it until you can do it with your eyes closed.
I have three degrees in education - I earned my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Oglethorpe University, a masters in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, and a PhD in Instructional Technology from Utah State University. I have taught students from Kindergarten - Senior PhD students. I love teaching and helping you, or your student, to work through challenging material. Learning is hard, and in moments of frustration I will be not only a teacher, but also a cheerleader. I will work as hard as I need to to help you succeed. In my spare time I enjoy working on my home, gardening, kayaking, volunteering in my community, traveling abroad to visit family, and spending time with my friends and my cats.
As an immigrant who has navigated and overcome significant socioeconomic challenges, I am deeply committed to supporting students in achieving their academic and professional aspirations. My journey in education began during my college years in Nigeria, where I prepared students for international examinations such as the SAT, TOEFL/IELTS, and GRE. In the U.S., I have continued this path as a Teaching and Research Assistant, gaining valuable experience in instructing both laboratory and theoretical undergraduate courses. Beyond academia, my early industry career has allowed me to mentor interns successfullyan aspect of my professional life that I hold especially close. Mentorship has played a pivotal role in my own development, and I would not be where I am today without the guidance of exceptional mentors. Drawing from my diverse experiences across continents, classrooms, and professional settings, I aspire to inspire and empower others to pursue their goals with confidence.
