I just recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a minor in STEM education through the UTeach Program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I received an initial teaching license in mathematics (grades 8 -12) and SEI endorsement. I have found my true passion through teaching. I am committed to cultivating my students’ interests in the mathematics that surrounds them and motivating students to achieve their academic goals. The UTeach program has provided me with many opportunities throughout my undergraduate degree to practice my skills in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. With all of the experience I have gained, I know I am ready to tutor your student to help students achieve their true mathematical potential. While children are inquisitive by nature, teachers must continuously work to foster their students’ curiosity and spirit of exploration. During my teaching practicum, I have tried to create a learning environment that not only stimulates students’ thinking but also allows for creativity. I try to engage my students’ interests in order for them to be actively involved in their learning. I hope to cultivate the joy of learning and see all my students become confident in their mathematical abilities.

As a certified teacher in South Carolina with a Master's in Special Education and over 5 years of tutoring experience, I am passionate about helping students succeed in mathematics, particularly in Algebra and Geometry. My approach centers on building strong relationships with my students, as I believe that trust and understanding are crucial for effective learning. I utilize differentiated instruction techniques to meet diverse learning needs, breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps. My experience in special education has equipped me with a variety of strategies to foster confidence in students who often struggle with math. I am excited to return to tutoring, as I find great fulfillment in witnessing the transformation of students' mindsets towards math, empowering them with the skills they need to thrive academically.
I am a Physics professor at a college in beautiful New England. I received my PhD in Physics from the University of Massachusetts. I have been tutoring college and high school Physics and Math for more than 10 years. The most effective and efficient way of learning Physics and Math is by doing them. My teaching is highly based on interactive methods of learning. I usually cover fundamental concepts, principles, and equations. Then, we work on various practice questions and problems together with the student in a hugely collaborative way. I strongly believe in creating a fun learning experience in which the student is highly engaged. Every student is different, and that is why I develop specific techniques that best fit the student's needs and learning styles. I am very passionate about Physics and Math. I love teaching these subjects and enjoy every single moment of it.
Solving the world???s problems has always been pleasing to me, being able to put a smile on a person???s face by solving their problems is quite satisfying which is why I became a Math Tutor. As an individual, I alone cannot eradicate the problems that the world faces but this would definitely be a start. As Wade Boggs said, ???a positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results???. That being said, I look forward to the opportunity that will present itself through this company for me to contribute my own little quota. As a tutor, I understand that not every student is the same thus I try to understand the strengths and weakness of a student before devising a method which I believe would be a great study pattern for them. I encourage interactive and collaborative learning as well as setting a goal for ones self without making it a set limit. Most of all, I believe learning should be fun and I always try to make sure it is.
I have a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. I then went on to receive my masters degree in Mathematics Education (5-12). Immediately after college I worked in a tutoring center at a community college, where I had the privilege of tutoring all levels of math (from pre-algebra to calculus). I now teach high school math, most recently Geometry, Algebra II and Pre-calculus. I strive to make math easy for students to understand. I use many different strategies to help students understand and I am extremely patient. I look forward to working with you!
I am a passionate Math teacher who loves to help students understand difficult concepts. I love the challenge of finding different ways to explain topics in math.
A good teacher can make an enormous impact on the life of a student. I have seen this firsthand throughout my life. As a student, I learned how to read and write critically because I had teachers who cared, and who invested themselves in my education. Because of these teachers, I have dedicated myself to the education of others. As a tutor, there is nothing more gratifying than having a student report back that a paper got an A, or that a much-feared test was actually a breeze. My goal as your tutor is to remove the fear and anxiety that may surround a subject, and to place there instead something positive--the love of a book, an appreciation for a well-written paragraph, and the confidence to attack any test or assignment with assurance.I hold my Master's Degree in English Curriculum and Instruction for grades 5-12, and I am well-versed in different teaching methods to ensure that a student who works with me has every chance of success. I think that students learn best when they are interested in a topic; my job as a tutor is to stimulate that interest in any way possible. I will motivate and inspire you to be the best student you can be!
I'm a chemical engineering student at UMass Lowell entering my senior year. I've been inducted into the chemical engineer honor society Omega Chi Epsilon this past semester, and have been serving as its secretary since. I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a MS in Electrical Engineering. Before that, I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where I obtained a BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering. I currently work for an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of integrated circuits where I deal with radio-frequency communication devices for use in a broad array of applications.I specialize in teaching the areas of math, science and also some low-level computer programming topics. I have been involved with organizing and leading many review and study groups throughout college. I am passionate about finding the right method to help the student master their subject matter. My goal, outside of just helping someone with their material, is to develop strong problem-solving skills and habits that can be applied to their future work. I think my approachable communication style as well my desire to see their understanding 'click' with a student make me a great tutor.Outside of my full-time job and tutoring I enjoy golfing, snowboarding, playing guitar and hanging with my family and friends.
I am an international student from Argentina studying Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Ever since I moved to the USA 5 years ago I have been tutoring students in both English and Spanish, depending on what their first language is. I really believe that education is essential to achieving a higher standard of living, and I work hard to instill this belief in each and every one of my students. In my spare time I love watching and playing soccer, listening to music and planning my future trips, as traveling is one of my biggest passions.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell where I received a BS in Mathematics and a minor in STEM Education. I will begin teaching mathematics at Lowell High School in the Fall of 2015, and I could not be more excited! Before I graduated college, I worked for the Centers for Learning as a peer tutor. I also held planned review sessions for both midterm and final exams. Besides tutoring, I have been working teaching children since I was a senior in high school. After high school, I started working as a swim instructor and lifeguard at a summer camp. I have also been an assistant coach on a private swim clinic. My favorite subjects to tutor are geometry and algebra. Algebra is the foundation for many advanced topics in mathematics, and I strive to deepen students understanding of algebraic concepts and procedures. I recently completed my student teaching at Billerica Memorial High School, and I could not believe the number of students who still struggled with Algebra. I cannot wait to begin teaching so I can plan lessons and activities that show just how mathematics is to the real world! My tutoring style varies a lot per client. I like to assess each individual's needs and decide how to proceed from there. I like working one on one with students, and I like to teach through exploration and inquiry. I do not want to just show you or tell you the answer, I want to guide you towards getting there yourself! There is nothing like the feeling of knowing you helped a student understand something completely.Other than tutoring, I like to stay active, and I really enjoy being outdoors! While I was in high school, and for a year in college, I was on the swim team. Swimming is still one of my favorite things to do when I can find the time! I also like to run and hike with my dogs. While in college, I completed my first triathlon, and I am working towards completing another one in the upcoming year.
With two Master's degrees in two very different fields of engineering and theatre, and with over 12 years of teaching and tutoring in various fields: ACT,SAT,Algebra, Calculus, Circuits, ESL,Spanish, Acting, Shadow puppetry and animation, I create fun lessons to ease and facilitate the learning process. I believe in the art of education and its power.
Hello! My name is Amber, and I am a college student getting my bachelor's in psychology. I believe one of the best ways for kids to learn is through practice and a good teacher. I would define a good teacher as someone who can put things into a perspective that the student can understand. Someone could be a good teacher for one student but bad for another. My goal is to be a good teacher for as many students as possible by teaching or reviewing subjects with them in ways that make sense to them.
I believe in guiding the journey of seeking knowledge. I feel I am a great tutor because I find happiness in helping people learn in different ways. I try my best to analyze how each individual learns to present the concepts in an easy manner. In addition, I love sharing my knowledge. I believe I put an equal effort as the student in achieving their goals.
I work as a database software engineer at an insurance company. I studied computer science at University of Massachusetts Lowell, obtaining a Bachelors in 2024, starting my Master's degree in 2025. At UML, I ran the competitive programming club and tutored students every week about a key skill for technical interviews. I also have a passion for writing argumentative essays. Helping students and peers learn how to break down problems in programming and math or express their ideas in essays has been a great pastime of mine for years. I always start with the big picture to make sure the basics are solid before moving on.
My foremost area of proficiency is in the field of Software Application Development. During my time in this field, I have developed automated scripts using Core Java, and the fundamentals of the Javascript language. I have developed Web Applications (J2EE) using advanced Java technology. While developing these software projects, I have leveraged concepts relevant to REST & SOAP Web Services and have leveraged technologies such as Spring, Spring Boot, CSS, Java Persistence Api, and Android. All of my software projects have been published in a publicly available repository. Above mentioned knowledge was reinforced upon completion of the Full Stack Java Developer Certificate course with live instructor led training. Other important software courses that I've completed include completion of a 'Fundamentals of Android' course, completion of a 'Core Java' programming course (at Boston University), completion of 'Java Web Services; Rest Api; Spring Boot' course. My software professional experience includes working with Javascript, Java api development, analysis of prebuilt Java applications from a software security standpoint, and I have spent time on software quality assurance related work in a professional setting. For a more comprehensive list of my skill set, please feel free to visit my LinkedIn profile at https://www.linkedin.com/in/nikita-kulkarni-b3b2836a/. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology (from Umass Lowell) and a Certificate of completion in Clinical Research (from Boston University). As a student, I've also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Life Science Labs and Biology labs. I believe students should get the opportunity to freely ask questions and provide their input throughout the learning session. I do believe that the subject instructor is responsible for breaking down complex information for a simplified presentation to the students. I also believe that instructors are responsible for providing close guidance while the student is performing hands-on activities.
