Hey guys I'm Nikhil from Orlando, FL. I'm currently a freshman attending the University of Miami. I wanna be a tutor mostly to make learning isn't a pain for anyone. I graduated in May 2020 from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. I obtained my bachelors degree in Chemistry with a minor in Spanish in just 3 years due to my advanced track. Given that chemistry was my major, I frequently tutored my other pre-med classmates in their chemistry coursework. My final year I acted as a TA for the biology class I had taken my freshman year. Although I love alone time for my own hobbies, I value getting to know people on a personal level. For this reason my teaching approach is based highly on the individual I am working with. I like to get know my students style of learning and try to make it more meaningful through a personal connection. I believe less in memorization and more in creating foundations of knowledge that one can continue to build upon and rely on in moments of doubt. As your tutor, I would always be open to constructive criticism with the goal of creating the most comfortable and productive learning environment for you. This way, the learning never stops in either of us.

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Miami majoring in Health Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Minors in Biology, Psychology, Philosophy and Public Health. I have tutored Undergraduate students in Biology and chemistry and am very focused when it comes to academics. I believe that understanding the subject conceptually is the key to doing good and I like to adapt my teaching methods based on an individuals learning preferences. I can help compile notes and identify topics that are important to know especially for the SAT Biology exam and IB psychology,biology and chemistry exam as I graduated with an IB diploma.

I have my BA Philosophy and MA Liberal Studies. The liberal arts are truly a gift from Ancient Civilizations. Hello! I recently graduated from the University of Miami with my bachelors in business in Legal Studies and am available to assist with any hw help that I can! I will be working towards law school for this upcoming yeah but am more than willing to help anyone I can along the way. I am most skilled in most math, reading, and writing applications but have a relatively good grasp on most major concepts through high school. Outside of academics, I am quite the comedian who loves reading, fishing, watching movies, cooking, and spending free time with my family. Overall, I am a positive tutor who is looking forward with working with students and making their work as fun and accurate as possible!

I received a Bachelor of Health Science with minors in English, math, and chemistry from the University of Miami in Spring 2015. When I was there and learning any new information or studying for a test, I always ended up speaking aloud as if I was teaching a classroom. If you include this as tutoring or teaching experience, I have a much higher number of hours than those indicated on my resume. If this does not cut it, I have worked with students from elementary through high school to meet their educational goals through various volunteer organizations in college. I am happy to be able to continue doing the work that I have enjoyed so much.Despite my efforts to tutor myself as I have described, I often needed or just wanted a tutor to help me with my goals. As I have sat in front of a tutor many times, I know what mistakes students often make and how students often feel. I am an aspiring teacher currently pursuing graduate studies in education. There is nothing I enjoy more than discovering fun and creative ways to teach and learn. My background in music and the arts helps me find novel ways of approaching various academic disciplines and has defined my core belief on education: well-rounded students and teachers must expose themselves to as many perspectives and disciplines as possible. Currently a doctoral teaching assistant at the university level, I have many years of experience teaching both middle school and high school. My strengths are math, music, and test prep, but I am eager to help students achieve their goals with any subject matter. As a recent high school graduate, I understand what it is like to juggle extracurriculars, AP classes, and college applications. I have sat through mundane test prep classes only to realize that I had not truly grasped the material and did not feel confident in my abilities to do well. I believe the key to excelling in a subject is to develop an interest in it along with learning the material, and this is what I hope I accomplish as a tutor for my students. I work with my students in a stress-free zone and encourage questions and discussion rather than lectures. In addition to studying engineering at the University of Miami, I have years of experience learning Russian as a native speaker. During high school I was a competitive ballroom dancer and continue to train in college.

After thirty years as an educator, most of my adult life has been focused on the science and art of teaching with the heartfelt desire to improve the academic condition of all my students. I am a graduate of both Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Florida). My earned degrees include, B.A. Communications and Theater, M.A. Educational Media, M.Ed. Education, Ed.S. Educational Leadership, Ed.D. Educational Leadership. My instructional assignments have included, Media Specialist, Intensive Reading Instructor, Director of School to Career, Emerging Technology Instructor, Yearbook Instructor, Language Arts Instructor. My last assignment was Educational Consultant for at-risk students for the city of Ft. Lauderdale. I have had a great deal of experience working with students who were trying to improve their reading and writing scores on the Florida State Assessment Test. My educational philosophy encompasses three areas of importance: Critical Reading, Critical Writing, and Critical Thinking skills. I passionately believe that all three are necessary for educational success, and I gain immense satisfaction helping students achieve competency in these three important areas of education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing (I have two books in the global marketplace) and playing my guitar as a professional musician.

I am extremely patient and will make sure the student I'm working with truly understands what we're working on. The great thing about tutoring one on one is being able to go at each student's pace and work with their unique learning styles. I'm personally very visual and need to draw a picture to figure out a problem. I enjoy learning about the student's interests and incorporating them into the lesson to make it more fun and interesting. I've been working in education for about 5 years. I taught preschool and 4th grade and have tutored ages 4 to 18. My favorite subject is Math, but I enjoy working with all subjects.

I received my PhD in Psychology/Behavioral Medicine from the University of Miami after receiving my M.S in Clinical Health Psychology from UM, and B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Consequently, my favorite subjects to tutor are psychology and biology! I also love tutoring writing as I have had extensive experience with academic writing throughout my career. I have taught at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate level and thoroughly enjoy working with students. I have always loved learning and I love sharing my love of learning with others!
