I am a recent graduate from Michigan State University. I majored in chemistry and chemical engineering. I have tutored subjects from general chemistry to physical chemistry, and I have a really strong background in math. I want to pass on my love for chemistry, biology, math, and engineering to students! I have been tutoring these subjects for the past three years. My tutoring style is friendly, and encouraging! I am a visual learner, and I like to teach my students concepts by pictures. Furthermore, my tutoring style is fun and hands on.
Hi everyone! I received my education from University of Michigan, and currently do Neurophysiology research at the University. In high school I tutored elementary-school individuals, and led study sessions after taking my ACT to help other students do better retaking the exam. In college I was a student-instructor for several years: my teaching was focused in Science and Psychology.I'm passionate about helping others in lots of ways - tutoring included. I think knowledge is one of the most important qualities one can have and I enjoy helping others acquire that quality. My teaching philosophy is rather individualistic. I think different students require different ways of learning. Personally, I learn best by reading and listening. I've taught many people who are visual and hands-on, so he/she required different approaches to learning material. Thanks for reading and I hope to meet you soon!
I am currently a computer science major at the University of Michigan. I will be finishing my degree in the fall and potentially pursuing a masters in computer science next winter. I have taken part in multiple engineering and consulting project teams as well as worked as an intern at Amazon. I am incredibly passionate about computer science and really enjoy teaching many topics from introductory concepts to data structures and algorithms. Beyond computer science, I have a minor in biochemistry and have taken a variety of chemistry and biology courses. While computer science is my main professional focus, I have found biochemistry to be incredibly interesting and it has become a passion of mine. I loved my chemistry classes and have a lot of fun when teaching organic and physical chemistry! My main tutoring experience is with mathematics teaching most subjects from early math, algebra, and calculus. I really enjoy working with students because I believe it provides them with extra insights into subjects that they will not always find in school. I find that it helps to develop passion for different subjects and helps to guide them into deciding career paths.
I believe that every child is capable of great things and deserves an individualized educational experience. I will do my best to ensure that my students will feel adequate in every subject and have confidence that they can achieve anything they put their mind to.
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Science with a minor in Medical Anthropology. Since graduating undergrad, I matriculated into the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where I graduated in May of 2022. I will begin my residency in general surgery in June 2022. I have been tutoring in the math and sciences since high school, but am now most passionate about helping other medical students conquer the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams. I know how daunting these standardized exams can be and strongly believe that with the proper approach and preparation that these tests can be mastered and actually build the confidence of a medical student. You've worked incredibly hard to make it to medical school and these tests are merely a stepping stone on your journey towards becoming a physician. While long study hours are part of the process, I recognize that taking breaks for your mental and physical well-being are equally as important. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, exercising, trying new restaurants, and reading.
My name is Sydney. I'm a high school math teacher in Detroit, MI. I love building relationships with my students as I believe this helps motivate them to want to push harder. I teach because I want to show others that they can succeed in math even though it is challenging.
I believe that the best in people is brought about only when an opportunity for learning opens new doors, inspires new adventures and let's in new possibilities. Without these new vistas can never be reached, doors will remain closed and people will shun new possibilities. Therefore, in striving to be the best you can be, you can open yourself up to the possibility of who you will be. Belief in oneself inspires the passion to consider the self as a means of your own transformation. Therefore, when striving to follow my passion for mathematics, the arts or the sciences, I use a multifaceted approach to learning. Whether more traditional or more progressive, I can lecture and lead or simply allow for your learning to unfold via engaging conversation with the material. When you can bring your enthusiasm, interest and love of the subject material, then teaching you how to hone these skills into a career or passion project you may be working on will be a door wide open. Will you open it?
I have been tutoring Chemistry, Biology and Organic Chemistry at the high school, AP, and college level. I graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 2012 and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at University of Michigan-Dearborn. I will be starting medical school at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor this fall. I love science courses and I love helping students achieve the understanding they need to do well in the class. My favorite subject to tutor is Organic Chemistry because it seems to be the most difficult class for students, and reinforcing the material in a different way really improves overall understanding and scores. I love to see my students succeed and become more confident in a subject. My teaching style is to focus on what the student finds to be the weak point, while also providing examples and supplemental materials to further the understanding. I am a very visual learner myself, so often going through a difficult concept and writing it out with the student helps solidify it and clears up any misunderstanding. I will often say, "this is cool" before talking about a new topic, and while students may not find Chemistry "cool" I hope to help them at least understand it when we are done with a session.Besides studying and tutoring, I love to draw, read and stay active with walks around my neighborhood or a quick workout at the gym. I am very easy going and approachable and ready to help!
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan. Throughout my college career, I tutored general and organic chemistry courses, and I loved it. Tutoring allowed me to meet many beautiful people and interact with them about science, which I am passionate about. I've always tried to excel in my classes, so I have used tutoring services through Varsity tutors for math and physics. Therefore I know how valuable a good tutor can be when you need to earn that A in the class. I am working as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and in my sessions I often give examples that are real life Lab-related
