My name is Robie Collins. I taught in Georgia Public Schools for 24 years. Prior to teaching I was attended Brenau University for my undergrad degree in Middle School Education. I later returned to Brenau University to complete a Masters Degree in Middle School Education and finally attended Valdosta State University to complete my Specialist Degree in Instructional Technology. I recently retired from Education but my love for teaching has not retired. As the oldest of 4 children we would always do our homework together and I would help my younger siblings with homework. Later when I had my own daughter we would sit together to complete homework assignments and study. I would often take my daughter to classes with me at Brenau University and she grew to love the idea of teaching and later graduated with a degree in Education and went on to obtain her Ed.S. Helping my youngest granddaughter this past year with learning to read and write has renewed my excitement to help others learn to read and learn. I am excited for the opportunity to help others in the subject areas where they struggle. I am excited to help with Reading, Earth and Life Science, Geography, History, Economics, and Government. I cannot wait to get started!

Hi! My name is Ms. Page and I have a life long passion for learning, I have over 10 years experience as an educator and I look forward to helping you be your BEST!My favorite subject to teach would be reading . Reading can take you so many places . Because of my experience teaching Pre-K through 2nd grade , I understand the importance of understanding of letters , letter sounds , phonics and beginning reading skills so that students may progress into fluent readers and fully comprehend what they are reading . I am patient and I enjoy working with students one on one to establish an environment in which they feel comfortable learning with me . I also have years of experience teaching adults English. The adults that I have worked with also reach goals of speaking fluently and overall being more comfortable speaking , reading and writing English. We start at the foundational skills just like anyone learning to read and write. Please let me know your goals and I would love to help you accomplish them!

I currently work as a clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) for a major hospital in the Atlanta area. I graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry and received a CLS certification from Emory Healthcare Medical Laboratory Science program. This is a 11 month intense and fast paced program and I was interested in improving and giving back to the program. I teach/train current clinical laboratory science students on infectious diseases. I'm very passionate about teaching upcoming students because not a lot of people know about the very important work that we do and I want to spread the word.

As an educator of over twenty years, I have had a variety of experiences that have led me to believe that successful learning and education for students is heavily dependent on finding the right situation for each individual. I am a graduate of Valdosta State University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. I spent three years teaching music at both the elementary and high school level. Following that, I worked in tutoring students age 4 through college level. This tutoring focused primarily on reading and math skills and subjects, but also included study skills. During this time, I was able to connect with and guide students form many educational situations including public school, private school, and homeschooling. I also made the decision to add a middle grades math certification to my PK-12 music certification. I then spent time working with alternative school students. This provided and excellent opportunity to use positive reinforcement to change the negative attitude that many students had towards specific subjects or school in general. Most recently, I have worked with students in China to teach them English vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking skills. While I enjoy teaching and tutoring all age levels and many subjects, I'm most passionate about ESL and math. I believe that building a positive attitude towards education, in a way that meets individual student needs, is critical to student success.

I am a graduate of Valdosta State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While in college, I provided help for several students during my four years. I have helped students in grade school with Elementary Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics while volunteering at homeless shelters in Valdosta. I also provided free assistance to students and residents in various math courses such as College Algebra and Statistics through one-on-one sessions from student referrals by professors, classmates, and residents under my supervision. However, the subject that I am most passionate about within Math and love to tutor would be Algebra. As a student, I have experienced my share of ups and downs when it came to Algebra, but I continued to work through the difficulties and found ways to make learning more fun so that it no longer felt like work. This is what I hope to share and provide for all of my students, and maybe they too will begin to enjoy Math. While working with me, sessions will be tailored specifically to the students needs. I believe that in order to provide help, the sessions must remain organized. My sessions begin with identifying the issues and reviewing the lesson. Then we finish with practice problems because I believe that practice makes perfect, especially with Math. My goal is to ensure that the student is able to use the methods provided within their classes so they remain on track, and are able to build on the skills outside of the tutoring sessions. In my spare time, I enjoy studying for my Law School exam (LSAT), drawing, listening to music and podcasts, learning ways to invest, and video gaming.

I am excited to work with you, and I can't wait to you or your student succeed in math! I am an ambitious college school student who cares about education and career development. I value my work and am more than willing to offer my time and assistance to provide the diligence needed to impacts students' lives. My familiarity with mathematics allows me to pursue this role with confidence and having this position will empower myself as a more career-ready adult.I tutor a wide variety of math subjects at Valdosta State University, and am currently working toward a double major in Electrical Engineering and Physics. I have tutored Math Modeling, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Physics (Calculus based) for over 400 hours within the past year at Valdosta State University. My responsibility as a university tutor was to motivate and empower students by demonstrating critical thinking skills and problem solving. Many people believe math is supposed to be difficult and frustrating. However, I have noticed that after scheduling appointments with me, many students feel they already knew how to do math all along! Nothing is better than having that "AHA" moment when working out problems, and I'm confident we can create an environment with accelerated learning and academic achievement.I also have developed great experiences working with children at the YMCA. As a counselor in training (CIT), I was required to be an understudy of current counselors to gain experience and provide the highest level of leadership skills. After rigorous training CITs graduated to Counselors. Counselors were in charge of a large group of kids weekly. Activities, such as hikes, boat rides, horse back rides, canoeing, soccer, laser tag, were planned and organized while also maintaining safety and insurance. Our largest responsibility included consistent communication with parents to ensure the needs of each child were being met.Thank you for considering my candidacy, and I wish you the best of luck.

I am a graduate of Western Illinois University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature with a focus on Second Language Acquisition and Teaching English as a Second Language. Since graduation, I have worked with a plethora of diverse students, ranging from preschool age up to eighth grade middle school, working even with students living with a variety of developmental delays (as I am a certified Special Education teacher). While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about French Language, Literature, and French History. In my experience helping struggling students with grammar, conversation and daily language, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) developing strong, meaningful, useful real world language skills, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an daily survival in a French speaking country, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, yoga, running, and the odd game of ice hockey.
