I earned a B.S. degree in Biology from Wake Forest University and a Ph.D. in CellBiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Maryland. In addition to my fulltime research responsibilities as a graduate student, I served as a teaching assistant forundergraduate Microbiology and Cell Biology laboratory courses. My scientific researchbackground is in cell biology and genetics, and as such, these areas are my favoritesubjects to teach. I am available to teach general high school biology, as well as moreadvanced upper level high school and undergraduate biology courses. In myexperiences teaching a diverse student population, I have come to realize that a fear oflearning difficult material is a major roadblock to successful science learning for many students. I strive toimprove science education by making science seem more accessible to students andreinforcing the “big picture” of a particular lesson before delving into the fine details. Iam confident that this approach will lead to long term success in retaining scientificknowledge and foster critical thinking skills. I am an avid runner and general sportsenthusiast, and spend as much of my spare time as possible partaking in outdooractivities.

I am here to make learning about AP US History, AP European History, and on-level US History relatable, approachable, fun, and, hopefully, make students lifelong lovers of learning regardless of the subject.
I've been an entrepreneur, business consultant, and faculty member for over 16 years. My credentials include being a CPA with a Juris Doctor, Master of Accountancy, and Bachelor of Science in Business. My greatest strengths are being a good listener, creating strategy, and following through. I'm empathetic, but I don't back down from excuses because I know that within every "can't" is a "can". I admire truth and transparency.
I started teaching students as an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina Asheville where as a junior and senior I tutored freshman and sophomores in general and organic chemistry. Seeing the lights of understanding in my students eyes was what hooked me.Teaching community college helped refine my teaching style and showcase the importance of keeping students focused on their goals while keeping classes interesting. After earning a bachelors degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Asheville I received my masters in biochemistry and molecular biology from Wake Forest University. When I tutor I try to bring in real life examples based on what I know interests my student and keep students motivated by keeping them focused on their goals.Helping students surpass me is the most rewarding experience.
I am committed to helping you not only understand the material better, but also be excited to learn more. I am looking forward to helping you on your journey!
I have a Bachelor of Arts in History from Holy Cross and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Wake Forest. My primary areas of focus are SAT, Latin, Study Skills and Organization, Critical Reading, Essay Writing, Grammar and Literature. I find out what frustrations students are having and work with them to develop strategies to address their individual needs. In particular, I believe strongly in my writing and critical thinking skills and I believe that I can leverage these strengths to help students improve their own skills. I'm a big sports fan - especially baseball, football and golf - and I love running, reading, history and the movies.
I am a recent graduate of Wake Forest University. I graduated, with honors, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. During my time at Wake Forest University I worked as tutor in the Chemistry Department. I tutored fellow students in general and organic chemistry. I clarified chemical concepts, explained chemical structures and mechanisms, and further developed friendships with a variety of students. In addition to tutoring I became an adviser and reassured my peers that chemistry was not impossible to conquer and encouraged them to keep persevering. I am more than happy not only to help solve other's problems, but also inspire others to maybe one day love chemistry as much as I do. I also tutored a local high schooler during my last semester at Wake Forest University. I explained chemical concepts, reviewed class material and homework, and provided test taking skills for her upcoming AP Chemistry Exam. I not only have a passion for chemistry but also to help others excel because I know what it is like to be in their shoes. Some of my favorite moments in the past have been when students reach their "aha!" moment because I explained something in a creative way or gave them a funny saying in order to remember something. I can't wait to help others reach their "aha!" moment.
I am a graduate of Siena College. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a focus on forensic science. After graduating from Siena, I then got my Master of Science in Addiction Research and Clinical Health, taking additional graduate biomedical science courses on top of my major courses. During this time, I also studied for and took the MCAT exam with the goal of becoming a surgeon. I began tutoring my fellow classmates in difficult topics such as anatomy and physiology and then expanded this to helping others prepare for the MCAT. I am most passionate about the sciences, specifically chemistry, biology, and biochemistry, and love helping students learn these challenging subjects. I am a firm believer that there is no subject that is too difficult to learn! In my experience, figuring out how one learns best is the path to success, and everyone has the capability of reaching their educational goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading horror novels, watching movies, yoga, and hiking.
Everyone can learn to be scholarly with direction, curiosity, and mental voracity.
I am an adjunct English professor in Austin, TX. I love helping students with writing essays, writing assignments, and reading comprehension.
I am a graduate of Morehouse College with a B.S. in mathematics and a graduate of Wake Forest University with a M.A. in Mathematics. I currently serve as a math teacher at an Atlanta private high school, and have tutored mathematics for over a decade. I take pleasure in guiding students to that light bulb moment, where everything makes sense. I believe no one is incapable of learning anything. It is only a difference of how they learn. I see it as my job as a tutor to meet each student where they are, and cater the lesson plan to their learning style. We all can master math, it is just being confident enough in yourself to do so.
Hello! I am a rising sophomore at Wake Forest University, and I am majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. I am excited to tutor students in Spanish, essay writing and editing, and reading. It's important to me that the student is comfortable and that we work together in order to make our tutor sessions the most beneficial they can be. I am passionate about helping students as I know how difficult it can be to feel like you're falling behind or struggling in school. Tutoring can help you focus on your weaknesses and overall make you a better student. Additionally, I love kids of all ages. Teaching, helping others learn and being with kids is a combination of a few of my favorite things!
