I am a recent graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Biomedical Engineering. As I am applying to medical school, I am currently a research assistant at Harvard Medical School in the neurobiology department. I have a very solid background in math and physical sciences. I love to use real life examples in my tutoring examples and I can't wait to connect.

I am an architect by day and a tutor by other times of the day. I graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago just this last May and completed my undergraduate studies in Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology a few years ago.I like to ski in the winter, despite hating the cold, go to the beach in the summer, and attend concerts whenever I have the opportunity. I like a range of music, movies and TV Shows - I am willing to bet we have at least one in common. In my spare time I hang out with my two cats Bella and Luca and enjoy exploring the city of Boston. In Chicago I went on a quest to find the best "Chicago style hot dog" and ate more than anyone should in their lifetime. I can tell you all about how I waited in line for five hours at one place...I like to make learning fun, and I hope you want to do the same. I have tutored elementary school-aged students in reading and math and was a mentor for incoming freshmen at IIT. I was able to take a group of 6-12 freshmen on tours of Chicago while teaching them the importance of sketching and assisting with any other subjects with which they needed guidance. I believe that if we aren't having fun we are doing it wrong.My subjects include: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Homework Support, Math, Middle School Math, Reading, Study Skills and more!

I have recently graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I have always excelled in the more logical subjects such as Math and Sciences ever since middle school, thanks to excellent teachers that drilled the fundamentals into me. Those fundamentals are what allowed me to stay on top of the rest of my peers in understanding and problem solving, which is why I strongly value the importance of understanding basics and methodology instead of memorizing formulas and laws when it comes to arithmetic and sciences.

I am a sophomore at Wentworth Institute of Technology pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. I am a very logical and theoretical person in the sense that I feel the need to know the reason behind why things work as they do. Which is why I have chosen a career in the STEM field and am more than willing to share my passion and knowledge with others.As I progressed through math levels, more often, my classmates would ask what math was useful for outside of school. At the time, I did not know how to respond, but I knew the question came from the frustration caused by trying to comprehend the material. What I now have to say is that solving challenging math problems results in more than an "irrelevant" solution. In the process of finding the solution to an equation, you develop problem-solving skills, endurance and confidence; all important qualities for a successful life. Do the work to become a better person, that is what math is useful for. Really, that is what everything is useful for. You have to be willing to explore new things. You never know what you can get out of it. A well-rounded person is of high value out in the real world.I have been raised by Dominican parents who have placed great importance on their language and culture. So much so that even though I was born here, my education from pre-school to first grade is from their homeland. Spanish was the first language I learned to read and write in. Since then have continued to use these skills in communicating with my family and friends. In high school, I took 3 years of Spanish at a native leave where we practiced our communication skills while learning about Hispanic history.If nothing else, I hope to evoke a thirst for knowledge and an appreciation for community, in those who I have the opportunity to work with.

I have taught at a college level for over 22 years. I come from a family of teachers. My Mother was a teacher and now I have 2 children that have become teachers. I am now semi-retired and stay current through one-on-one tutoring. I also have taught/tutored in the online arena.
