I am a recent medical school graduate from St. Georges University School of Medicine. My Alma mater is Barry University from which I received a Bachelors of Science with a major in Biology. Having immigrated to the US as a child, with no knowledge of the English language, I was bullied by school mates for not knowing how to speak English.I watched my parents struggle to just communicate. I quickly realized the importance of being able to converse in English in order to just "survive" in a new country and improve the quality of our lives. Our struggles spurred me to become certified and teach ESL (online and in person) to adults and children, in order to help them succeed in life and mainstream into society. I have translated and voiced over films from English to Spanish for the Diocese of Dallas.I believe the relationship between student and teacher has to be one of desire and interest on both parts. The student has to desire to learn; while the teacher has a desire and enthusiasm to teach and share their knowledge.
