I recently graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in International Studies and German. While at Bryn Mawr, I was honored to receive the Berle Memorial Prize in German Literature, second place for the Hester Ann Corner Prize for a thesis written in a foreign language, and a spot on the Community Building Honor Roll. I was also selected as a finalist for both the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Germany and the Fulbright U.S. Teaching Assistantship to Austria. I have over five years of tutoring experience, specializing in English, German, and the Social Sciences, as well as college essay coaching and standardized test prep (SAT/ACT). My approach to teaching is centered on flexibility; I strive to tailor each lesson to meet my students' unique needs. I believe that every student can become a passionate learner, and I am committed to helping them achieve their academic goals while instilling a love for learning.
I graduated from Brandeis University with degrees in Classical Studies and Anthropology in 2012, and just received a master's degree in Archaeology from Bryn Mawr College. While in school, I have worked on numerous team projects as well as with younger students just beginning their studies. I spent this past summer working with high school students as a resident counselor at Johns Hopkins University. In the fall, I plan on working in classrooms in the Philadelphia area. I have experience across the humanities, and have a particular love for history. I also understand the importance of preparing for standardized tests, and have found the same critical reading and writing skills needed to score well on them to be invaluable as my education has progressed.I look forward to working with and helping you in any way that I can.

Throughout college I was a tutor and assistant for Aesop Academy for consulting, where I assisted students in Excel, business case studies, and presentations. I also have experience tutoring middle school and high school students in a variety of subjects through my work with the California Scholarship Federation. I am most passionate about tutoring students in English, grammar, and essay writing. I was graduated from Bryn Mawr College in May 2020 with a dual Bachelor's degree in French and History. I have been tutoring and teaching students from elementary to college age in French and English for nearly seven years. I have worked as a private tutor for American students, as well as French students when I studied abroad in Strasbourg, France for a semester. I also worked as a French teaching assistant for three years while in college.I especially like helping students learn French. I like to reinforce what they've learned by putting it into practice, whether through worksheets or mock conversations. I also often supplement lessons by introducing them to aspects of literature, videos, and history with which they can practice what they've learned while also learning about francophone culture.
I am currently a sophomore at Bryn Mawr College. In the 8th grade, due to my exceptional performance in my advanced math class, I was offered the opportunity to tutor for extra credit. Since then, I have enjoyed tutoring and teaching others in a variety of subjects in grade levels PreK-11th for volunteer work and in paid settings. In high school, I took advantage of tutoring opportunities through my membership in Math, English, and National Honor Societies, and National Beta Club. I am working towards a Bachelors degree in Political Science and am also studying Middle Eastern Studies. While I hope to eventually pursue a Juris Doctris, education is a passion I would like to stay involved in throughout my career. I have worked with students of all ages inside and outside of school settings. I interned at the Fairmount Water Works where I assisted in an educational capacity. I tutor in Math, Social Studies, and Social Sciences. For a complete list, check out my subject list below. My favorite subject to tutor is math as there are many different ways I can explore with my students as to how to approach the problem in a way that makes sense to them. Math, especially, requires a lot of patience and it's incredibly rewarding to watch a student become proficient in a skill set they once thought impossible. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style emphasize that students learn in a variety of ways and one must first recognize where each individual student is coming from in terms of learning style and resources before attempting to address the academia. Outside of academia, I am very passionate about acting and social justice. Both of these interests, I believe, help me greatly in connecting with my students and supporting their learning. I have clearances available at your request. I was accepted to such prestigious institutions as NYU and the University of Richmond among others. I hold several leadership positions in my school community including president of pre-law society and Access Services coordinator. I look forward to working with your child!

I am a graduate of Bryn Mawr College (PA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a graduate of Lewis and Clark College (OR) with a Master of Arts in Teaching. I have been an elementary teacher for 18 years.I love working one-on-one with students to help them understand a concept, gain confidence in a skill, or try out some new strategies. My favorite subject to teach and tutor is Math, but I also enjoy the other elementary subjects as well. I really enjoy finding new ways to reach a student and help them understand a concept.
As a non-native speaker of Spanish and French, I recognize the immensely positive impact learning foreign languages can have on one's life. However, learning foreign languages is a challenging, long term process that requires dedication. That dedication is not just the responsibility of the student, but of language teachers as well. As a teacher I am committed to making connections with students in a fun, positive way that fosters not just an appreciation for the language but a solid understanding of language fundamentals, such as grammar. I truly teaching and feel there is no obstacle to learning that is insurmountable. Fun is also a critical part of the process, and I always do my very best to make sure my students are having the best time possible while strengthening their language skills.
I am an experienced tutor and an aspiring historian. I hope to pursue graduate school in the next couple years, but I also love children. I've tutored children in both elementary school and high school, and love connecting curriculum to their experiences and current events. My hobbies are vegan cooking and baking and taking care of my cat, Jiji.
My love of physics and math began when I was 3 years old, watching Julius Sumner Miller do physics experiments on TV. I discovered my love of teaching as an undergrad at the University of Mount Union, where I served as a teaching assistant in the intro physics labs. It was so thrilling to help students reach "a-ha" moments where everything clicks! I was hooked, and I've been teaching ever since! After earning my Bachelor's in physics with minors in mathematics and music, I went to Bryn Mawr College for graduate school, where I earned my Master's studying dark matter, and my Ph.D. studying atomic physics. While I was there, I taught in various labs, ran problem solving sessions for the pre-med physics course, and tutored several students one-on-one. After graduating, I spent three years as a visiting professor at Austin College. I think the best way to learn something is to DO it, so my teaching style is focused on helping my students actively engage with the material. I like to have back-and-forth conversations with my students to see where they are with the material, and to help guide them to a deeper understanding. I also like to use lots of examples, demos, and hands-on activities to help solidify abstract concepts.
