I was in sports talk radio for eight years. I believe being successful comes down to knowing what you want and then knowing how to get it. That's why I believe a tutor/teacher/coach can be so important. They have been there themselves and want to pass on their knowledge and experience. If you can become clear on those two things, the learning and growth will come. It will come even faster with personalizing your working and applying it to your life.I was doubted in middle school and high school in even getting into college. I ended up doing fairly well on tests and got into a good college. I know what it's like being on both ends.Learning is about being open minded and realizing how much you don't know. With that attitude, work ethic and technique students can truly do better than they ever thought possible.

I received my PhD and Masters in Accounting from Binghamton University. I am have been teaching accounting at the college level for over 20 years. I am a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). I love the moment when the "light bulb" lights up in a student's head and they understand a concept they had trouble with. In addition to accounting, I can tutor in statistics, geometry, and most areas of business.
I love to learn. Even more, I love to help kids learn. Every now and then, we all need a little helping hand. I am thrilled and honored to be able to be that help for young students. I am a hard worker who likes to see sweat and smiles turn into success. In 2007, I graduated from Bucknell University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a PA teaching certification. I spent some time teaching dramatic arts to students in Austin, Texas before I moved to New Orleans in 2008. There I taught kindergarten for two years and helped develop a fun after school program for our students. In 2010 I moved to NYC for graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia University. I had the pleasure to work as a service learning coordinator for PS 92 in Harlem with students from kindergarten to fourth grade. After graduating with my masters in Educational Leadership, I began working at a charter school in Newark, NJ. I spent three years teaching second grade at that school until moving into my current position as a curriculum designer for an educational organization. In my role as a curriculum designer, I work hard to prepare daily lessons for teachers around the country that lead students to mastery in literacy instruction. My passion in education is to provide students with opportunities so that they can develop future opportunities. Any student has countless possibilities in front of them as long as their education is solid and their mind and heart share the same goals. I am happy to help your kiddo on the path to being the difference he or she wants to make in the world!
I have taught math and computer science at the high school level for 35 years and in my retirement, I am on the Executive Team for the American Computer Science League. I am also subbing in both fields at 8 different Districts in the Pittsburgh area and tutor students on the side. I feel strongly that a good, solid background in math and/or computer science will make all of the difference in a student's future endeavors and want to share my expertise in making that possible. I am adaptable to all levels of ability and customize my approach to the needs of the student easily. I received a B.S. from Bucknell University and an M.S. in computer science from Villanova University. My favorite content is Algebra 2 because it is so integral to all of the rest of mathematics and my favorite programming languages are Python and Java. I look forward to helping any student who has a desire to succeed.

I'm a retired professor who taught statistics for many years. To be a good citizen these days, you have to know a little statistics, because many people will try to convince you of many things with statistics, and you need to be able to separate the truth from the lies.

I have found that I truly enjoy working one on one with students. Working one on one allows me to get to know the student and allows me to uncover any gaps in their prior knowledge that may be confusing them, or prohibiting them to be successful in their course. I also enjoy working one on one with a student because it gives me more of an opportunity to discover the student's learning style. I could then better instruct the student at their level and using their learning style of the best outcomes.
I am a freshman at Bucknell University, majoring in political science and minoring in Spanish, on a pre-law track. I have lots of hands-on experience with kids having been a part of the writing center, babysitting, and volunteering to read at public libraries and schools. These experiences have taught me a great deal regarding children and teaching. However, they have also aided me in understanding adolescents and finding strategies to keep them engaged. Each student is different, and my tutoring sessions will cater to their needs and how they learn best. My favorite subjects to tutor would be Psychology and English, as they are both passions of mine. Additionally, I enjoy working out, cooking, and spending time with my friends and family.
