I am a graduate of Columbus State University. I received my Bachelor of Music Education with a focus in voice and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught elementary and Middle School chorus and general music in Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia for 25 years. While teaching in public schools, I have also had the opportunity to participate in the after-school tutoring program for many years where I tutored several different academic subjects, such as English, grammar, reading, math, science, and social studies. Much of my tutoring experience was helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests. I believe all students need an unbiased and multicultural education with access to a broad spectrum of content and learning techniques. In my spare time, I enjoy singing, painting, dancing, acting, horseback riding, hiking, history, star gazing, trivia, and being a science nerd!

I love to tutor kids in anything related to math, science, or the social sciences. I have tutored students for about two years now and have helped many students during that time period. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in mathematics at Columbus State University. I can't wait to help you!
I am a graduate of Mercer University, Columbus State University, and Nova Southeastern University, where I obtained degrees in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Education; Instructional Technology with a concentration in Middle Grades Education; and Instructional Technology and Distance Education with a concentration in Education levels K-8, respectively. For the last 25 years, I have worked as an educator in secondary and postsecondary education, teaching courses and tutoring learners in English, Math, Life Science, Physical Science, Study Skills, Organization, and Instructional Technology and Design. My teaching and tutoring experience is extensive; yet, my utmost passions are Math, Science, Study; Organization Skills, and Instructional Technology. All students can learn when given the proper tools and supportive guidance; a solid education can positively change a person's life trajectory. With this thought process, I will begin and end each tutoring session with my learners. I enjoy making time for my daily exercise routine, and in my downtime, I relax by playing PlayStation and Xbox.
Hard working, dedicated graduate who's ready and willing to share her knowledge. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from Columbus State University. Since then, and before then, I have worked with students from the age of newborns to pre-k. I have been a substitute teacher for the past year helping out when I can and I use to volunteer as a tutor at one of the local elementary schools in my hometown. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing, reading, and math because I can be creative in developing new ways for my students to learn and engage. My style of teaching is fun but knowledgeable. I will make sure that the child has fun while learning and offer incentives for good work to motivate them to learn, stay active, and on task. Outside of teaching, and tutoring, I love to play sports. I have played softball, ran track, done gymnastics, cheered, Tae Kwon Do, and flag football in college. I also love to dance and draw to bring out my creative side.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time outside and had many questions about the world around me. I had great parents and teachers who nurtured my interests and gave me opportunities such as a walking trip through a swamp! As a result, I decided to study Biology in college. While in college, I noticed that many of my peers were struggling in math and science courses. I began tutoring through an initiative on my campus aimed at helping students in introductory math and science classes. Through this program, I tutored students in small groups (3-5 students) which increased student success rates in introductory STEM classes. In addition, I taught labs and tutored non-traditional students at a nearby technical college. By my junior year, I decided to add Secondary Education to my degree as I knew I wanted to continue sharing my passion for science with others. Since then, I have taught High School Biology, Middle School Science, and collegiate science labs (biology, botany, and anatomy).I love tutoring as it allows me to build relationships with my students and help them reach their academic goals. When teaching/tutoring, I apply the content to real-world situations so my students can relate to the material they are trying to learn. I also like to utilize manipulatives and games so students are engaged with the content and have fun.
I believe every student is capable of learning! As teachers, we need to find out about the child's interests and preferred learning styles so we can adapt our lessons to the child. Using real-life examples, visual aids, and topics of interest to the student are important to maximizing the learning experience. Adding fun and humor are ways to keep the student engaged, and it will help to create a relationship of trust between the student and the instructor. I have about nine years of experience as an elementary school teacher, although I am no longer in the profession full time. Most of my teaching career was spent in fifth grade, followed by third grade. However, my lab classes in college exposed me to all grades between preschool and fifth grades. My daughter encouraged me to become a teacher because she said I had a gift of being able to help her understand concepts she didn't understand in school. I'm from a large family, and I have a genuine love of children. It is an honor to work with students, to build confidence, and to help them reach their potential. I look forward to directly working with students again!

I graduated in 2017 with a BS in Computer Science from Columbus State University in Georgia. I have worked in the game industry as a programmer since 2017. In my career, I have worked as a full-stack developer for video games from inception to launch. I've also self-published "Urchins & Ink" on Steam as a solo developer under my studio, Hiccup Interactive. I love programming but am passionate about game design and how games can improve real-life skills. My specialties are C#, C++, and Unity development. However, I have worked with various other languages and software throughout my career, so I can typically help with most things related to code, design, or algorithms. I am very familiar with breaking down some of the complexities of coding theory to make it more digestible for new learners. I have presented talks at schools (Elementary through College level), professional game development conferences, and hobbyist conferences. I enjoy sharing my passion for development and overcoming any frustrations you may have at any part of your Computer Science related journey.
The skill that teachers need most is an intuition for perceiving why a student does not understand. This perception is essential in leading students to a mastery of the subject. One must connect with the students personally. Even with the advent of online education, the interpersonal exchange between student and teacher cannot be discarded. The inability to see each other face-to-face will place a premium on instructional techniques.I want to take the best aspects of the traditional classroom and adapt them to an online environment. This may entail fielding more questions than usual from students. My answers will be through and precise, so as to make the most of each exchange of information. Im excited to enter the newest era of the ancient discipline of teaching.
I am a double graduate of Columbus State University where I majored in Political Science and received my Master's degree in Public Administration. While in school, I began a non-profit called "MyCivics" where we specialized in tutoring students in the social sciences such as politics, government, history and other areas. Currently, I am in school for my Ph.D. in Public Policy and work full-time in local government as a public administrator. Why do people make the decisions that they make? That's the question that I have dedicated to spending my career hoping to answer. As a student of politics and government, it is my job to not only learn, but also help others learn about the decision-making processes that affect their lives every day. I believe that good citizens are those that remain well informed about the world around them and seek solutions that aim to make the world a better place. In my spare time, I love to read, travel, exercise, spend time with my wife and puppy, and play video games every now and then.
