I have been an educator for 12 years and a lover of literature my entire life. As an educator, my favorite thing is to help someone understand how to find joy (or at least comfort) in reading and writing. I believe that these skills open the entire universe to a person, whether it be in a fictional realm or in the boardroom. I received my BS in English Education at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, earned National Board Certification, and have recently completed a MS in Technical Communication through North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. I have spent my career working with students of all levels, including EC, Honors, and AP. I have also spent much time tutoring students to be successful on the verbal portion of the SAT. In my free time, I of course enjoy reading, but a close second would be traveling. I love a good road trip, and I'm also trying to expand my travels - hopefully going overseas soon!

As a professional instructor, mentor, and tutor since 1994, I define my own success by the success of my students. I particularly enjoy witnessing the moment when my students capture a topic they have been struggling with. I like to start by quickly determining the pre-existing baseline of knowledge and then build on that foundation to achieve the goals we set together.

I am currently enrolled at East Carolina University where I major in Public Health (B.S). I am a nationally certified Advanced EMT. Additionally, I am North Carolina state-certified as well. I have tutored EMT students in various EMS topics and preparing for the NREMT exam as well.

As a tutor, I truly enjoy helping students discover their strengths and reach their academic goals. I know that every student learns differently, so I make it a priority to adapt my teaching style to fit their individual needs. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling challenges, and trying out new ideas. With personalized guidance and feedback, I work to build their confidence and independence as learners. Seeing their progress and growth is always rewarding, and I'm committed to continually refining my approach so they get the best learning experience possible. More than anything, I want to help them succeed in school while also developing a genuine love for learning that lasts beyond the classroom.

I am a graduate of East Carolina University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Since graduation, I have tutored children of all ages in various subjects as well as taught preschoolers basic skills. While I tutor a wide variety of subjects, I am most interested in English, Literature, History, Science, and of course Psychology. I believe that education is very important and necessary in all aspects of life. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading, photography, and spending time with friends.

I am a graduate of East Carolina University, where I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a Concentration in Statistics. I have tutored many subjects, including Biology, English, and accounting, but the bulk of my experience over the last six years has been tutoring middle school through college level mathematics and statistics. I have spent the last two years working on an M.S. degree in Statistics at The Ohio State University. At OSU I have taught undergraduate students through the leading of recitations, tutoring students in the statistics tutoring lab, as well as teaching a lecture section to over 200 students.In my many years of working with students in math and statistics, what I have learned is that everyone can be successful if they have the right teacher. Not everyone learns the same way, so it is important for a tutor to be able to explain the same concept in several different ways in order to find the method that works best for the student.I truly love helping others learn and grow. My favorite subjects are Statistics (of any level), Algebra I and II, Calculus I, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus, but I enjoy any opportunity to work with a student. Nothing is more satisfying than having a student who I've worked with tell me that they feel confident in their abilities. I hope to have the opportunity to help you gain confidence and subject mastery as well.

I graduated from East Carolina University which a Bachelor in Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Biology. I have been teaching students for 28 years. I have taught grades K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. I have also taught a K-1 and a 2-3 combo class. I currently teach 6th grade ELA and 6th grade math. Science has always been my favorite subject, but I have a new love for Ancient history too. I enjoyed walking my dogs, spending time with my family, swimming and painting. I was also awarded 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year for Nash County School District.

Only the only thing I love more than technology is the opportunity to share what I have learned with others who are interested in learning more about technology. I am most familiar with Java, SQL, HTML and CSS. I have worked in roles in which I coached and instructed individuals of all ages. I look forward to being part of your learning journey. As a dedicated educator with a Master's degree in Science Education from East Carolina University, I have over 31 years of classroom experience and tutoring, currently teaching high school science. My passion lies particularly in Chemistry and Physical Science, where I strive to engage students through hands-on learning and interactive methodologies, such as Cornell notes and lab activities. Hi there! My name is Amanda, and I look forward to meeting you! I taught third grade for four years in the public school system, and spent a short time teaching ELA to middle and high schoolers in an alternative school. I now spend my time teaching online, and I love being able to provide one-on-one support to students. My specialty is ELA, including beginning reading and reading comprehension for elementary students, but also have experience in all elementary subjects. I have a graduate degree in English, with a focus in literature, and an undergraduate degree in Communication.
