I received my Bachelor of Arts in Global and International Studies from Michigan State University and I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I have primarily worked with adult ESL/EFL learners, as well as middle school EFL learners. My favorite subjects to tutor are adult ESL/EFL, College English, English Grammar and Syntax, Adult Literacy, and Essay Editing. I am passionate about helping people to reach their full potential in order to reach their goals. I also like to make the tutoring process enjoyable for the learner.

I graduated from The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and finished a Masters in Biology at Eastern Michigan University. I enjoy helping others, which included teaching kids at my church, tutoring middle and high school students during study hall, working with youth in after school programs, helping adults who wish to improve their English, and helping friends who home school their kids. My most preferred subjects are Biology and Economics because I like knowing how things work and how people think on a larger scale. While it is important to know facts or the application of facts, I feel that learning how to learn and critical thinking are important and are built on the foundation of a trusting relationship existing between the tutor and the student. I do, too!I find the best way to remember what I have learned (in addition to practicing it) is to teach it. I am a new hire preceptor where I work. I instruct and mentor nursing and EMT/paramedic students in pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy, and physiology using a variety of methods including live online explanation and demonstration, mnemonics, illustrations, online video, and podcasts/audio.In addition, I can teach you study methods so you can learn in line at the grocery store and reinforce the information in your sleep! All the techniques I teach I used myself with great success.I passed National Registry at the paramedic level twice (you may retest instead of completing CEs) and NCLEX on the first try with 75 questions.I can practice skills stations with you, teach you NCLEX or NREMT strategies, work on your weaknesses and teach you how to memorize large amounts of info to pass your exams! You can do it!

I am a reading intervention teacher currently working in the public school system. I have worked with students all across the country in grades from K-12. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University and my master's from Arizona State University in Educational Administration. I love working with students to make them better readers and writers!

I have extensive experience as a substitute teacher at the High-school level and have given private music lessons for a few years as well. I am a senior at Eastern Michigan University in pursuit of a bachelor's in Secondary Education for Language, Literature and Writing, as well as a minor in Creative Writing. I am a current undergraduate of English Linguistics and will be graduating in fall 2016. I plan on pursuing my Masters and beyond in graduate studies in both Teaching English as a second language and English Linguistics starting in Fall 2017. My concentration includes methodologies in teaching English, both Modern English Grammar and teaching English to non-native speakers. My GPA within the linguistics program is 3.95 and my overall GPA is 3.8. With full marks in writing and speech as well, I can offer a well-rounded approach to written and spoken communication. Lastly, with a background in Japanese, I have successfully completed 15 credits worth of Japanese with a 4.0, and an average of 3.75 in all Japanese language classes, as well as being a supplemental instructor for the introductory class, this helps me both in Japanese Tutoring through both Genki and Nakama textbooks, or to help facilitate communication with Japanese students looking to learn English.

I attended Eastern Michigan for both a BA and MA in literature. Additionally, I worked through half of a counseling degree before I accepted a job in New Mexico. I began my career working with students and continued for my entire professional life, almost twenty years. Not only have I interacted with students in the classroom as an instructor but also outside the classroom as a tutor/counselor/adviser. For example, I have developed, implemented and coordinated a variety of student academic and development programs. More specifically, I can assist students with just about any type of writing assignment: from development of ideas to organization to editing. Further, I can assist with literary analysis and interpretation. Study skills, organization, in-class essays, test-taking are important skills students should develop to be successful, and I can assist in those areas. For many people, public speaking and delivering a presentation causes anxiety and fear, but with a few helpful steps, it does not have to do so. One reason is that my approach to tutoring focuses on helping develop the skills necessary to be successful. Some need just a little guidance while others require a bit more structure. So there is a lot of discussion about the assignment, its goals and objectives and creating a process that addresses those areas. When I am not teaching, I like to hike throughout Red Rock and write film and Walking Dead reviews. I also have a strong passion for animal rights and am an excellent source for various perspectives on that topic from health to environment to morality. My dog’s name is Parlay, and besides licking my face too often, she’s great.

I am a retired special education teacher with extensive experience in the field. I earned both my Bachelor of Science degree and my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University, focusing on special education, with an endorsement in emotional impairment. I spent 26 years in the classroom, with my last 17 years teaching high school subjects such as Biology, Physics, and Forensic Science. In addition to classroom teaching, I have provided tutoring across all subject areas, from elementary to high school. I am passionate about science and promoting reading comprehension. Teaching students is my passion. I have been teaching and coaching for 20 years. I have taught General Education, Special Education, High School, Middle School, and Elementary students. I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University, and am currently a Doctoral student there as well. Outside of teaching I like to coach. I have coached Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Softball, and Baseball, although currently I am only coaching Football. My major hobby is Reading. I enjoy reading almost anything, but I particularly like Historical novels and Biographical novels. I am a college student at Eastern Michigan University and my major is Music Education. I have been a tutor for 2 years at my high school and I've taught Math (Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus), History (U.S, World, and European), and finally Music Theory. I have taught both High school and College students. I am fit to teach any Music, History, Math, or English due to the AP and Advance classes I have took.
