Learning is a process. Learning should include examples of how you apply learning to life. I have taught all grade levels and most subjects. I find students learn best when motivated by meaning and applicability. I believe in active learning. When teaching, my philosophy is to embed thinking skills and common sense modeling, to teach students how to utilize resources and problem solve.
As an educator, I have had a myriad of experiences in a variety of settings. From educating elementary children in urban spaces, to taking on the undeniably-fulfilling role as a Literacy Coach and administrator, I have had the pleasure of inspiring students and mentoring teachers. I have both diversified and dedicated my life to my portfolio of empirical knowledge. There is a certain catharsis achieved from molding the malleable minds of the next generation of lawyers, of doctors, of writers. To have an integral part in the shaping and forming of our collective future is the fundamental essence of our craft, and by surrounding myself in a multitude of environments, I have learned innumerable ways of dealing with studentsbased on their individual, subjective needs. The psychology of every child is different, each student a reflection of their upbringing and temperament. In my interaction with these young, works in progress, it has always been important to approach every student differently, and not treat every child with the same methods of learning. Some children work better visuallysome, audibly. It is my responsibility, as an educator, to decipher the means to which a child learns--and learns best. My mission is to put the FUN back into learning!
I believe in making learning fun! It is important for me to design lessons that are both effective and engaging at the same time. I am fully committed to the success of my students.
Knowledge is POWER!The best thing you can do for yourself is to get a good education

Whether supporting emerging readers or helping multilingual learners strengthen their English proficiency, I strive to create engaging, supportive, and culturally responsive learning experiences. I look forward to partnering with students on their learning journeys and helping them achieve their goals with confidence and skill.
I am a patient, understanding educator who has high expectations for her students. When they say, "I can't, " I say, "You will. And it's OK that it's not yet."Currently, I am a Special Education Teacher at a Charter School in Plainfield. I work with students in grades 2, 3, 5, and 6. Throughout the school day, I assist in their classrooms as well as take them out for extra support in a small group setting which my school refers to as "Intervention Lab." It is here that I work on goals and objectives from their IEPs.I absolutely love coming to work everyday. I see the benefits of individual and small group attention and I am looking forward to sharing those experiences with you!

I use research-based strategies and interactive activities to make learning both effective and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them gain the confidence and independence they need to thrive in the classroom. I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress.
I am currently a Senior at Kutztown University majoring in Cellular/Molecular/Microbiology. I initially went to college at Millersville University fresh out of high school, but struggled to figure out what I wanted to do with my time there. I left school after a few years and began working full-time as a manual laborer. Over time the desire to finish what I started grew immensely and I returned to school several years later to finish my degree after. As of now I have a 3.93 GPA and am a member of four honors societies. What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the growth in the students I work with and being a part of their success. Every one of us has a life to manage outside of school, which can make it difficult to keep up with school and life at the same time. I make a conscious effort to relate to my students and put myself in their shoes so that I can learn how best to serve those I tutor. I love to tutor anything that falls under the umbrella of Biology and Chemistry, as well as all levels of Algebra and Trigonometry.
I am an energetic 26-year-old with a large love and enthusiasm for all things German.Starting with German 1 in 8th grade, I then participated in a foreign exchange program, AFS, and studied abroad during my junior year of high school and lived with a Host Family in 2006-2007. I continued to study the German language and culture all the way through college and graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a major in German Communication and Culture. I also have a large passion for Pennsylvania Dutch, along with the history of German immigration and theinfluence of immigration on the United States.I recently lived in northern Germany from 2013-2015, where I lived on the island of Helgoland and worked in hospitality. I was a desk receptionist for three hotels. I then moved to Hamburg and worked for a publishing company until October of 2015.I look forward to working with students of all ages and all levels. I have a creative and flexible teaching style that focuses on the needs of my student and however they learn best. I don't believe that there is a "right" way to learn a language, as long as the student is interested and trying, then they are learning. Language is a tool we use every day, and shapes the way in which we view the world.
I have been a high school math and computer science teacher for the past 22 years. I have my B.S in Mathematics and my M.S in Computer Science. I currently teach classes in both an online and face-to-face format. One of the things that I love about teaching is being able to interact with students and see the students develop an understanding and confidence with math. Every student learns differently and I love the challenge to find the way to help them be successful.
Being a native English speaker I am fascinated by other languages and cultures. I have studied the linguistics, the grammar, and the structure of the Spanish language, as well as the Latin/Spanish Culture. I have traveled to Spain and South America for extended periods of time and fell in love with the people who practice the Latin/Spanish Culture and Language. I have tutored all ages from teaching toddlers to speak, to teaching adults. In college I proofread papers for classmates and now I read and write on my own time in English and Spanish. My reason for tutoring is the challenge that it brings. I love finding new ways to reach students and finding that lightbulb turn on. Tutoring is stimulating not only for the student but for me as well. I am not one to be discouraged easily and I love getting others to see the potential in themselves. Teaching brings a sense of cultural enhancement and a self awareness that extends far beyond the classroom.I love helping students of all ages reach their potential in every aspects of learning and I look forward to working with you!

My passion for teaching is deeply rooted in my desire to make learning engaging and accessible for all students, regardless of their background, native language, disability, or learning preferences. I create customized lesson plans that reflect individual learning styles, whether I'm introducing foundational concepts in psychology or navigating the intricacies of the German language. My role at Devereux CARES, where I supported students with autism, has honed my adaptive teaching methods and reinforced my commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes curiosity and academic growth. My time studying and teaching in Germany has enriched my cultural perspective and deepened my love for the German language, which I find incredibly rewarding to share with others.

I also hold a teaching certificate for Pennsylvania Private Academic Schools, English, Secondary Education. I am the Faculty Advisor the Lamba Sigma Honors Society chapter at Alvernia University. I believe that students should be taught how to think, not what to think. I am one of the most popular lecturers on campus as I am known for my kindness, compassion, and sense of humor. My education has given me the skills I need to be a tutor and teacher, but it is being a mother, daughter and friend first that is the foundation of my teaching philosophy. I chose a life of serving others, and I believe that becoming the best version of yourself is the life goal that matters most.
I am a certified English and ESL teacher with over eight years teaching experience. I also double-majored in Spanish in college and have spent time traveling and living throughout Latin America. I recently earned my master's degree in English from Kutztown University. I am passionate about teaching and learning English, writing, and Spanish, and I love helping students be able to understand, and hopefully even enjoy, English or Spanish.I believe we can learn so much about life from reading literature, and I work hard to help my students understand difficult texts and be able to connect to them. As a tutor, I can work at your pace to help you talk about and understand the literature you are reading and help you master even the most difficult concepts.I also have a strong commitment to teaching writing. It has been through my own experience of writing paper after paper that I have learned how arduous, but also rewarding, the writing process can be. I have a lot of experience taking students through the different stages of the writing process as well, and as a tutor am able to help you find what you want to say about your topic, develop your ideas so that you feel confident about your writing, and create your argument with conviction. It is a long and challenging process, but I love taking students through it so that at the end, they feel satisfied with their work.Just like writing, I think learning another language is a really challenging process, and it takes lots of practice. It is so exciting, though, to be able to communicate with someone in another language. I try to find the method(s) that helps my students the most with learning and mastering the concepts in language acquisition. And I'm a big believer in practice, practice, practice!I am excited about teaching and learning and hope I can help you understand, learn, and even enjoy the subjects you are working on.
I love to help students learn languages -- both written/spoken languages and programming languages! I taught German and coding for 18 years in a high school and have been tutoring in coding and running a middle school coding club since retiring from that career. I have a Master of Education degree from Lehigh University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University. I can tutor beginning and intermediate coding in languages like Python and JavaScript and can also tutor any level of the German language. My personal style tends to be rather gentle and easygoing. I am a good listener, and I try to guide students towards greater independence by helping them learn to find their own solutions.
I am a social studies teacher with a passion for history! While history may seem irrelevant I'm here to try and teach you the importance of studying history and showing how it can be fun and interesting!
