I grew up in the Republic of Moldova, Eastern Europe. By the time I graduated from high school, I was fluent in Romanian, Russian and French. I graduated from the State University of Moldova, earning a B.S. degree in Spanish Language and Literature, while simultaneously obtaining an M.S. degree in Philologist and Teacher of Spanish. I worked several years as a language instructor, after which I began my career in diplomacy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova. Related to my diplomatic career, I earned a post-baccalaureate certificate in International Relations for Diplomats at the Diplomatic School of Madrid. After working as a diplomat for my country, I joined the United Nations Development Program in Central America, Republic of Guatemala where I worked and lived for 13 years. In 2018 I graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia where I studied to obtain the teaching certificate. I worked as a teacher of Spanish and French in several public and private schools in different states: Utah, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. I worked as an online Support Teacher for a Spanish Immersion Program with the Washington International School. This has been the first time I have taught exclusively through Zoom, and it has been a positive experience for me. I have learned how to teach remotely, which not only entailed learning the technology behind it, but also how to best instruct students at a distance. I enjoyed being a Tutor for Spanish, Russian and Romanian languages with students different ages and levels. I am passionate about teaching Spanish, Russian and Romania all levels, and French for the beginners. I love to teach about the culture, art, literature, history, and geography of these countries. I like to help student that struggle with different learning disabilities and my teaching philosophy is that all the students deserve to have access to high quality education to become citizens of the world. I am currently an English as a Second Language (ESL)Professor at the Universidad Autonoma del Caribe, Miami,FL Campus.I grew up in a bilingual/bicultural household with an Irish-American father and Venezuelan mother which caused me to become culturally and linguistically sensitive to two different worlds of customs and traditions. This upbringing gave me the opportunity to discover my passion for languages and cultures of not only my family's heritage but also of the world. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Masters Degree in Bilingual and Bi-cultural Studies. During college I studied abroad in Venezuela and Spain and had the chance to teach and tutor English. After studying abroad, I began teaching and tutoring English as a Second Language and Spanish at the high school and college levels. I believe in today's world it is important to know another language because it makes you an invaluable asset to society as you are able to reach many more people. With my education, work and life experience, one of my goals is help my students realize the limitless possibilities of being bilingual and tolerant of people different from them.My sole purpose in teaching is to figure out what the student's strengths, interests and learning styles are and build lessons around these components. I am currently a dual-degree graduate student studying International Peace and Conflict Resolution and Counseling Psychology. I graduated from LaSalle University with majors in Communications and Sociology and minors in Film Studies, Central Eastern European Studies, and Spanish. While at LaSalle, I received training to tutor students with different learning styles and cultures in statistics, sociology, economics, religion, and writing.I enjoy tutoring because I love seeing students succeed and gain confidence in their abilities. I seek to adapt and customize my methods to best meet the student's needs and learning style in order to make learning fun and effective. My job is not just to help the student pass a class or test but to learn study skills that will be beneficial for their future coursework.I love being creative with my tutoring methods as well as in everyday life. I am graduate of La Salle University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education. I also have a Masters of Education from La Salle University. After graduating from college I taught high school English for 7 years. I am currently a preschool teacher; my students range in age from 2-4. I have been a preschool teacher for the past 3 years. In addition, I did some private tutoring of elementary school children. I have a wide range of experience and working with many different age groups from ages 2 thru 18. My subject areas for tutoring are Language Arts including: Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Literature. I enjoy helping students in all these areas; however, favorite subjects are writing and literature. Writing is important in any profession and subject; therefore, it is a skill that needs to be mastered. My teaching style is student-centered. Every child learns and absorbs knowledge differently. I use a variety of different teaching styles and lesson planning to engage each student. In my free time, I enjoy all music and sports, especially softball. I am a Sophomore Nursing Student at La Salle University, studying to graduate with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. I graduated from Central High School, class of 2010. I started tutoring almost six years ago. When I first began tutoring, it started with some family members and then I started tutoring some classmates. My favorite subject is math and I love to help others in this subject. I have experience tutoring in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Spanish 1, and some English. I enjoy working with all age groups as long as you are willing to learn. Outside of academics, I love to crochet, bake, and knit. I also enjoy making arts and crafts.
