I am a graduate of Metropolitan College of New York with a Bachelor's degree in Human Services and received Master's credits in Early Childhood Education from Herbert H. Lehman college as a New York City Teaching Fellow with the NYC Department of Education.My favorite subject to teach is Literacy. This is inclusive of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. These components come together to assist in making a well-spoken and well-rounded individual.

I have always valued education and learning and have excelled in those areas from an early age. Having earned a masters degree, I have discovered the key aspects of learning because, as most graduates will tell you, a master's degree is an education in how to think. Consequently, I feel that I have also gained the skills needed to be an effective teacher or tutor. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with anyone in need and especially with children. As any good tutor knows, its important to understand how a tutee learns best and make an effort to adapt to that. I look forward to being able to help eager young people find their path to excellence in education.

I have a passion for the promotion of professional development through training and demonstrated in my work experience. Not only am I fluent in French and English, but I have worked simultaneously in both languages for fifteen years. My experience includes teaching French to business clients (in New York) and college students (in New Jersey) and also teaching English (English as a Second Language) to government officers and other professionals in the private and public sector overseas.I love teaching, especially languages. I use participatory methods that encourage students to communicate effectively in the target language. I am proud of my achievements and hope to continue to instill the love of languages to my students.I am a French native speaker; I've studied in Geneva (Switzerland) and France. I have a French Baccalaureate because all my primary and high school were done in the French language. We speak French at home. I have a Standard French accent.I hold 2 certificates in teaching English: TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and TBE (Teaching Business English).

I feel lucky to have taught all over the world for the last decade. I am a certified General Education and Special Education Teacher for grades K-6 and have spent the last three years teaching in the public school system of Manhattan, New York. Prior to that, I taught math and English at a Private school and was honored to be the resident musical director for a children's theater company on the Upper West side. This summer, my husband and I moved to Oregon where we currently reside with our dog, Nina. Teaching is my passion and I am grateful every day for the ability to do so!I believe in multiple-sensory education and using many routes toward the same goal. I use a process which relies on questioning and independent learning methods so my students reach the 'answer' in a way that is easily memorable and something they can take ownership of and be proud of! I am an English Language Art (ELA) instructor, certified science of reading. I love reading, words are fun, once you get the hang of it. My philosophy is people learn best when they are open minded to learning. I do believe we are ALL learners. Working with children and young adults brings me joy and passion, I love to observe the way students learn, having their own style of learning. Most importantly, students should be given a voice to express themselves, while recapturing the joy in learning.
