I am a graduate of Miami Dade College. I am currently working on my Bachelor of Science on Engineering. Since High School, I've been tutoring friends and family whenever needed. I generally tutor math related subjects and sciences too. Math is my favorite subject to teach because I like the fact that you can come up with the answer with more than one procedure. I'd say that in order to learn math, one must practice. If the subject is not well known, the more reason to practice; if the subject is known, then the problems will be solved fast.
I am a passionate and experienced tutor with over a year and a half of professional experience specializing in chemistry and STEM subjects. Having worked as both a chemistry tutor in a STEM lab and a teaching assistant for Chemistry 1046, I've guided students through challenging coursework ranging from general and organic chemistry to advanced problem-solving in labs. I am currently expanding my expertise in biochemistry (BMB 401), giving me a strong foundation across the entire chemistry curriculum. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to make difficult concepts clear and approachable. I have consistently helped students raise their grades, strengthen their study habits, and build the confidence needed to succeed independently. My background in teaching diverse learners has equipped me to quickly identify where a student struggles and create tailored strategies that turn weaknesses into strengths. I take pride in not only helping students master the material, but also in making science engaging and rewarding. My proven track record, combined with patience, adaptability, and a supportive approach, ensures that students I work with don't just improve their gradesthey discover a genuine confidence in their ability to learn.
Hello! My name is Melissa, and I am currently embarked on a journey to earn a bachelor's degree in education, with a specialization in chemistry. Throughout my academic experiences, I've consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, which is reflected in my strong academic performance. My passion for teaching also led me to work as a tutor for the STEM department at my previous college, where I helped students overcome challenges and achieve success. I believe every student has the potential to excel, and I am dedicated to helping them unlock that potential. I am patient, approachable, and adaptable, and I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment that meets the unique needs of each student. If you're looking for a tutor who is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in your success, I would be honored to assist you in reaching your academic goals. I am currently graduating from School for Advanced Studies high school and Miami Dade College with my Associates in Art both simultaneously. I am going to continue my education at Carnegie Mellon University. I tutor my peers and anyone that needs help in my family. I have a pretty wide range of what I can teach because of all the different people that need help. I am also able to teach in different ways to make sure that the student understands and masters the materials given. I tutor in all types of math and am flexible with the type of math students need help with. On my free time I play the French Horn with my school band and hang out with family and friends.
I've been an admissions counselor for the past 15 years and it's been an honor to help students achieve their educational goals. My ambition though is to prepare students for college and/or University through writing/english. I hold two graduate degrees, one in Humanities and the other in Visual Arts. I'm working towards becoming an Art History Professor for a College or University. It's never too late to do what you love! I love writing about art and inspiring others! In my Visual Arts degree I concentrated in Photography and I'm more than happy to teach you the basics and help you create an online portfolio. My main emphasis with Tutoring is English as it is an important part of everyday life. You need writing to even apply for a job and express yourself confidently. English is important for writing a story, persuading, informing, or educating. You'll never know what others have to say or be able to express yourself otherwise. I also hold a Bachelors in Business Administration and can also help with business writing. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me for help in writing, grammar, citation, or anything with english or business related.
As a dedicated tutor with over 2-3 years of experience, I am passionate about fostering a love for learning in young students. Currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Early Care and Education from Florida Atlantic University, I specialize in elementary subjects such as K-2nd grade English, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to explore and ask questions. I believe that every child has unique strengths, and I strive to connect with each student individually, tailoring my approach to meet their needs. Beyond academics, I enjoy reading and exploring new educational resources, which continually enrich my tutoring practice.
I'm a health-science college student. As a tutor, I love breaking tough concepts into bite-sized, confidence-building wins, especially in subjects like biology, algebra, and writing. My approach is collaborative and calm, centering students' strengths while giving them practical strategies they can apply instantly. I'm passionate about helping learners feel capable, supported, and genuinely excited about their progress.
I've always loved helping students and learning about how everyone learns differently. I will actively work towards finding what learning path works best for you and how to achieve it. I did my first two years of college at Miami-dade college while at the same time doing my last two years of high school at the School for Advanced Studies. I'm continuing my education at Arizona State University, where I am double majoring in neuroscience and art studies. I tutor math(algebra, pre-calc, geometry, etc), English, and art (art history and fine arts).
Ever since seventh grade, I have always wanted to be a math teacher. My seventh grade math teacher, inspired me to be like her. Before I took her class, I was not good at math. In third grade, I barely passed math with a D, and I had to go to summer school, but that didn't do much for me. My teacher made math seem very fun and interesting. Her metaphors and examples, also, made math easier to understand and follow. When I finished taking her class in seventh grade, I felt smart and confident. The feelings that I felt were so wonderful that I felt I needed to pass it on. I want to teach/tutor math because I want my future students to feel what my teacher made me feel; confidence. Students need to be more confident in math, but in order to make them feel that way, you have to teach using fun learning strategies. I want to create more interactive exercises that make math even more fun and easy to understand. My goal in life is to make children more confident in their mathematics.
I find immense joy in witnessing the "aha" moments of my students, that transformative instant when comprehension dawns and they realize their own progress. Guiding them through their learning journey fills me with a profound sense of fulfillment. Growing up, I navigated my education largely on my own, and that experience taught me the value of having a supportive mentor. Now, as a tutor, I aspire to be that bridge for my rising stars, easing their academic burdens and empowering them to reach their full potential. My approach to tutoring is marked by an infectious sense of fun and empathy. I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's unique learning style, whether that involves weaving Bluey-themed examples or employing hands-on basketball analogies. With over three years of experience tutoring students aged 5 to 14, I've honed the ability to adapt my approach to accommodate learners of all ages. I see myself not just as a tutor, but as a guide and mentor, empowering students to develop a solid understanding of the subject matter. If a particular method isn't resonating with a student, I take it upon myself to explore alternative approaches until we find the perfect fit. My educational journey began at Miami Dade College (MDC) where I started taking dual enrollment classes at 13 years old. Graduating high school from the prestigious School for Advanced Studies (SAS) alongside completing my AA degree from MDC set the stage for my ongoing studies at the University of Florida. Currently a sophomore majoring in Behavior Analysis and minoring in Family, Youth and Community Sciences. In my tutoring practice, I specialize in K-8 mathematics, Algebra 1, and Python coding. Mathematics and Python hold a special place in my heart, each presenting its own unique challenges and opportunities for growth. Specifically, for Python, I revel in the rush and immense joy when a code finally works and when I grasp a new logic. Nothing tops that feeling, except perhaps witnessing that same exhilaration in my Rising Stars. Seeing them achieve their breakthrough moments, after striving so hard for it, is truly priceless. It reinforces my passion for guiding them towards success and fuels my dedication to their growth.
