My math tutoring expertise spans elementary to college level across multiple areas, including: Algebra-Geometry-Trigonometry-Pre Calc-Calculus-Statistics-Advanced Engineering Mathematics. I began my career as an Aerospace Engineer, then moved into technology and have worked with all manners of orgs and audiences, from banks to insurers to universities to healthcare. My roles always involved 'real-world' applications of math, including educating audiences on technical subjects ranging from engineering calculations to statistical analysis to advanced analytics for business intelligence. Being neurodiverse myself, as well as having 2 daughters who also are, I understand how to connect with and deliver effective tutoring to neurodiverse students. I believe in patience, building confidence, and using tailored, engaging methods. I really enjoy helping students learn things they may think they are unable to, and have a very easygoing and creative approach. Happy to answer any questions.

Hello! I'm a patient, supportive K-8 tutor for reading, writing/grammar, and math. I also teach essay writing and reading comprehension for high-schoolers. I'm a new tutor on Varsity, but I've tutored for 5+ years at Central NY organizations and have worked as a summer teacher and after-school counselor. I'm certified in Early Childhood Education and Training Programs through the University at Albany's Professional Development Program. In our first session, I quickly identify what feels confusing, then we build a clear, step-by-step plan. I break skills into smaller parts, utilize examples, and practice together, always with positive, confidence-building feedback. Whether the student needs homework support, catching up on foundations, or extra challenge, I tailor sessions to their goals and learning style so progress feels doable. I'm looking forward to working with you!

My tutoring approach is based on the following principles: Bloom's Taxonomy: I believe this is the best model for helping learners transition from a subject's basic concepts to subject mastery Accessibility: All learners deserve the same access to knowledge. Learning should not be limited by time, specialized needs, or learning and expression preferences. The Whole Learner: Each learner's interests, ambitions, and personality are not separate from learning but an essential part of it.
