I graduated from Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX with an Associate's of Science and my years there paid off! I now attend Texas A&M in College Station as a Computer Science major in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2019! I've tutored Algebra for one year at TCC. My strengths are Math and Physics. Physics taught me the value of Math and the theory of Special Relativity taught me the beauty of Math.

I have a passion for helping students because I have what some may call a "servant's heart." As a student myself, I understand the value of having one-on-one time with someone who's sole purpose is to help you do better. Recently, I have had the opportunity to help students as a teacher's assistant, and I absolutely loved it. It's a reward in itself to see students break through barriers and begin to understand things they previously struggled with. Although I am proudly a Tarrant County College Business Major, my favorite subject to deal with is English, so I tutor in this, as well as beginner's Spanish and Basic Computer Skills. My style of teaching is flexible because I am a visual, auditory and kinesthetic learner myself. I try to feel out which of these will help a student best, and build off of that. My philosophy is that any student can learn to love learning, as long as they have the right motivation to do so.Outside of school, I like to style outfits on a site called Polyvore. Their online community is amazing, and it's a good way for me to flex the creative side of my brain. I also spend a good amount of time listening to music, and writing short stories.
I am currently a sophomore, pre-med student at The University of Texas at Dallas with a major in Neuroscience. Before attending UTD, I was a student at the University of Georgia. I have extensive experience in tutoring and have had my own private tutoring business since I was in high school. I started out by working with students in high school, helping them with homework and SAT Test Prep. I expanded my clientele to middle and elementary school student in 11th grade and started working with local students. Soon after, I joined Varsity. The most important part of tutoring students is working on their level. I believe every student has great potential and there are certain techniques I have learned through experience to harness that potential. In high school, I was an active member of the Debate Team which taught me how to lead and assist my younger peers. Although I tutor a broad range of subjects, I have seen most advancement in my students in the subjects of English/Language Arts and Math. Whether it is SAT Test Prep for Critical Reading and Math or it is AP English or AP Calc homework from school. My personal hobbies include reading, writing and slam poetry. I am currently working on a novella, which I hope to publish soon. I am also a member of the National DFW Slam Poetry Team. I fully believe that an investment in education is an investment in your child's future.
I have worked with children for ten years and have been tutoring for the past four. I earned my associate's degree in 2020 with coursework focused on child development and education. My favorite subject to tutor is coding because I believe it helps kids develop the problem-solving and creativity that they need to succeed in the modern world. I believe that learning should be fun, flexible, and tailored to fit each child's individual needs, and I encourage my students to have fun, be imaginative, and ask "why." When I'm not inspiring the next generation, I spend time working in the digital marketing space, enjoying my pets, catching up on the latest science and technology news, and baking the occasional batch of chocolate chip cookies.
How far can one go without knowledge?Knowledge is what makes humans superior to every animal and plant life around. It is not our strength, speed, or size that puts us on top. If that were the case; the lions, the cheetahs, and the elephants would be far superior to us. It is our knowledge and our implementation of it that sets us apart. We do not live only to eat, sleep, and copulate... We build roads, bridges, dams, houses, and hospitals. We set laws, standards, morals, ethics, and so much more.To change the world requires much knowledge and wisdom. We have a brain with the capability to better this world, not only for ourselves, but for generations to come.So how far can one go without knowledge...?Knowledge is something each and every one of us must go after, and we must acquire it (with patience) little by little. Just as mountains are made pebble by pebble. We must learn from those who know, and teach to those who do not. I am currently a student of knowledge and hope to be till my last breath. I see no benefit in hoarding knowledge, it must be implemented and shared. This is my life goal;learn, implement, teachA continuous cycle.-----------------------------------------------------"Not equal are the blind and the seeing,Nor are the darknesses and the light,Nor are the shade and the heat"Fatir 35:19-21"Are those who know equal to those who know not?" It is only men of understanding who will remember.Az-Zumar 39:9
