I love teaching mathematics and I am interested in helping students who are struggling with math concepts. I am able to break the concepts down into digestible "chunks", and tie the math concepts together. I would greatly value an opportunity to help any student!

"Good morning, good afternoon, and good night, superstars! ???? I am SO excited that you get to be in my tutoring sessions! I feel like the luckiest teacher in Tennessee because I get to learn and grow right alongside all of you. My name is James, and I've been teaching wonderful kids just like you for 16 years. I'm a special education teacher here in Tennessee, and I have a Doctorate in Special Education, which just means I went to school for a really long time so I could be the very best teacher for you. I love watching my students light up when they learn something new, when they finally "understand it," or when they feel proud of themselves. That's my favorite part of every single day! So here's my promise to you: We're going to have fun, we're going to work hard, and we're going to celebrate every win, big or small, together. You've got this, and I've got you! Now, let's make this the best session ever. Are you ready?!"

Having experience as a teacher made joining this platform an exciting opportunity to stay in touch with education! I have experience as an adjunct professor in the biology department of an undergraduate university, as well as working with children at a marine biology summer camp. I have received a bachelor's degree in psychology, and a master's degree in biology. Currently I am in medical school, which I will complete in May 2025. I obtained an International Baccalaureate diploma in high school, and therefore feel comfortable with IB and AP material. Although I am most passionate about science and psychology, I love reading and creative writing as well!
I have always had a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge with others. During my undergraduate studies, I volunteered tutoring elementary school students in the area. I even continued tutoring others while being a full time student in law school. Those who seek knowledge are seeking to enrich their lives and I am honored to be a part of that process. My past tutoring experience has helped me develop the patience to work with students of all ages. Lastly, I believe that all people have the potential to be great if they are made aware of what their talents are.
Hello, I'm Kiarra. I bring 16 years of tutoring experience and 8 years of professional teaching, with a focus on helping students who learn differently thrive academically and confidently. I support learners with ADHD, dyslexia, processing delays, IEPs, and 504 plans in ACT/SAT prep, college readiness, reading, writing, and math foundations. My lessons are structured, practical, and goal-oriented. We begin with diagnostics to identify strengths and gaps, then build personalized plans that turn strategy into action. Whether we're breaking down test questions, strengthening reading skills, or improving problem-solving, sessions are interactive and skill-building not generic worksheets. Students leave with clearer strategies, stronger confidence, and measurable progress.

As a tutor, I strive to impart the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful learners at any level. I developed these skills during my doctoral studies, and I pass them along to my students. I do this by establishing strong relationships predicated on trust and safety. With almost a decade in the educational profession and higher educational space, I have a vast wealth of experiences to assist students (Test Preparation, English Language Arts, Social Studies, Philosophy).
As a passionate educator with a Master's in Mathematics and a Master's in Math Education, I have over 13 years of experience in both tutoring and classroom teaching. My specialty lies in teaching high school mathematics through higher-level mathematics, including Calculus, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore complex concepts and develop critical thinking skills. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs, fostering both understanding and confidence. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring new mathematical theories and sharing my enthusiasm for the subject with my students.
I believe we live to learn by reading, hearing, feeling, doing, and experiencing. Having taught public school Kinders-10th grade, homeschooled my own 4 children for 6 years, and am currently in my 9th year of exclusive online education, I feel very confident that I'm able to meet the educational needs of your student by connecting, finding their interests and strengths, then using those to work in their areas of struggle. My BA/MS degrees cover Education, Counseling, & Human Development. I was the director of a preschool for children with multiple challenges, and later, the director of a Day Program for adults with significant health, mental, and physical challenges. Now, I teach all Elementary and Middle School subjects, including, but not limited to ELA, phonics, public speaking, writing, math, science, social studies, ESL, testing, Executive Functions, SPED 3rd gr-up, and life skills to adults with special needs. I'd be honored to help you meet your educational goals.
I am passionate about helping students grow as writers. I have been both a high school and college English teacher for many years. I enjoy coaching students to become their best selves. I attended Florida State University even though I am originally from Arkansas! I stopped just short of my dissertation. My dream is to live and write in Paris.
