I believe that all students can learn and achieve when instruction is tailored to their strengths, and strong foundational skills are built.

Throughout college and my two years as a math teacher, I found that there isn't one best teaching method. Instead, each student is unique and this reflects in their learning style. A good teacher will be able to change strategies to accommodate for differences in learning styles. I hope to be the best teacher that I can be by listening to my students and adjust my style of teaching to fit the student's needs.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from CSU Fresno and a Bachelor's in English from CU Denver. I've been teaching on the college level for nearly four years, and I also work as a tutor in the Writing Center at College of the Sequoias. Throughout 2012-2013, I led writing activities for incarcerated youth in the Fresno Juvenile Justice Center. I firmly believe that, with enough practice and hard work, every student has the potential to read and write well. I tutor multiple subjects connected to English - essay editing, grammar and mechanics, writing, and ESL. I write in my free time, so I love imparting students with an appreciation of reading and writing. I also play drums in two different metal bands, and I love to ride my fixie around town.

I am a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Colorado. I received my Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and my Masters Degree in Computer Science. I have been teaching for over 30 years. I started teaching when I was living overseas with my husband and teaching was one of the few jobs available. I found out that I love teaching, so I continued teaching when we returned to the United States first at the community college level but then at the middle and high school level as I followed my children's progress through school. As a military family we moved 16 times, so I have traveled extensively. Although I have taught a variety of subjects, my passion is computer science. I love working with students, and I feel a great sense of accomplishment when they master new material. I believe living is learning, and I care deeply that my students are successful. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking, and spoiling our cat.

I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Communication from the University of South Florida, and went on to obtain my Master's Degree from the University of Colorado. My teaching and tutoring experience has been varied and extensive, with both in-person and online formats. I began by teaching Public Speaking classes at the local university. I later transitioned into teaching English, Grammar, and rudimentary Latin to Elementary and Middle School students for several years. My most recent experience as a teacher and tutor was as an online, one-on-one ESL teacher for over 500 students in another country. I enjoy and am passionate about teaching the subjects of Reading, Grammar, Public Speaking, and Study/Organizational Skills. I love interacting with and learning from students from all over the world. Seeking and fostering a teaching environment of mutual trust and communication is very important to me, and one of the most fulfilling aspects of my life.

I completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Colorado-Boulder. I did my first Masters at the University of Colorado-Denver in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. I am in the process of completing my second Masters at Metropolitan State University in St.Paul/Minneapolis, MN in Urban Education. My thesis connects White Privilege to my teaching. I have privately and group tutored all ages of students around the world. I have traveled around the world twice and am on my third passport. I currently teach Social Studies at an alternative high school. I believe a solid foundation in literacy (reading, writing, speaking, listening) are instrumental for growth and a higher standard of living. We can all learn from each other. I value respect, willingness and a positive attitude. I like to make learning fun and meaningful. I put the information in your terms of understanding and set you up to make the connections. My favorite is when students have "ah-ha" moments, when the "light bulb goes off in their head." I believe all students learn differently and I design my instructional strategy to fit how you learn. I tutor a broad range of subjects, but my expertise is in Geography, History and ESL. I have been in the "game of school" for a long time and know Standardized Test Prep, reading for comprehension and fluency and English Language acquisition. I like to have a good time, a smile on my face, laugh and make learning fun. There is a right time and place for everything. In my spare time, I enjoy being active outdoors.

Hi! My name is Delia and I'm currently working as a elementary Math Fellow for Denver Public Schools. I graduated with a BFA in Photography/ minor in Communication from CU Denver in May of 2016. Throughout college I tutored high school students through the TRiO High School Upward Bound program. My favorite part about working with students of all ages is watching the lightbulb go off when they understand a concept or process. I also enjoy getting to know students and working to find a way to help them learn best. In my free time, I like to create art, go for hikes and explore Denver.

As a professional with master's degrees in English Literature and Education, I have dedicated my nearly 20-year teaching career to ensuring students achieve their goals and are proud of the results. I have taught students from middle school through graduate school various subjects from reading remediation and algebra to humanities and writing. I am passionate about providing a collaborative, constructive experience by encouraging observation, questioning, and action. I have also spent time developing assessments and help students approach standardized tests with a perspective based on knowledge and the skill of testing.

I am currently a third year dental student at the CU Dental School and I would one day love to become a Pediatric dentist! I absolutely love working with kids and I think that becoming a teacher/tutor can be a valuable tool to one day use in my practice. Although I have a strong background in math and science, I also love to read and even dabble in some Spanish. I can work with all age groups and I think every student can teach me something as well! Learning how to relate to kids and giving them insight on how to solve problems can be very rewarding!

I am UC Irvine graduate with a B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. I am currently working towards earning my M.D. at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I have five years experience tutoring a variety of subjects to students of all ages and learning levels. I feel that education is necessary and important in improving ones life, and that my role as a tutor is to package the course material into a digestible and easy-to-learn fashion. Outside of school, you can usually find me somewhere in the ocean freediving or taking photos.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Dakota. I also received a Master of Public Health and Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois. I am currently working towards a graduate certificate in teaching and learning at the University of Colorado-Denver. Since graduation, I have worked extensively throughout the water industry on many projects that provide safe drinking water and waste water systems to families and communities throughout the United States. I am a licensed Professional Engineer and am active in may organizations throughout the engineering community. While I tutor a broad range of STEM subjects, I am most passionate about math and chemistry. I am a firm believer in a strong education and believe it to be a critical component to having a high quality of life and prepares individuals in becoming the best stewards of the world.
