I am currently a masters student at the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy specializing in international law and international security studies. I also am an LSAT prep course teacher for Kaplan International. Personally, I have scored within the top 5% of test takers on the LSAT.

I am currently an instructor at a small technical college in Pittsburgh. Previously I have taught all levels of middle and high school math ranging from basic arithmetic to AP Calculus and Physics. My years of experience allows me to customize tutoring to all abilities and learning styles. I received my bachelors and masters degree in education from Duquesne University. I feel that relating the topics to areas of interest help close the learning gap. I have a very patient and relaxing demeanor which I have fine tuned with my almost 1 year old son!

I learned economics in business school at Duquesne University and subsequently worked in wholesale banking and investment banking. My approach to teaching economics is that you cannot live in the US and not have a basic understanding of economics. The terminology and the drawing of graphs may elude you, but the concepts are embedded in you. I use aspects of my students lives and their interests to create meaning. Economics can be fun and economics can be exciting if you have the right instructor
I consider myself to be friendly, God-fearing and dedicated to improving the lives of all my family, friends and people with whom I come in contact. This includes not only spirit and body but also one's mind. Learning is not only important but it is worthwhile as it helps develop one's mind.
I have spent my entire career as a librarian providing the best reference and research to the federal judiciary. It is this desire to continue to help others better themselves that motivates me to want to tutor. I would like to help them succeed for themselves and their future.

Hello! Let me give you a snapshot of my background and passions in order to pique your interest in selecting me as your Varsity Tutor. I am a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Duquesne University, both schools are located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania region. My degrees include a BA and MA in Political Science and an MBA. I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 21 years, retiring in 2016. My military career allowed me to "see the world" as an aviator, and I continue to travel in my current job as a charter pilot. I am passionate about helping others in their career pursuits to successfully join the military and/or to become a professional pilot. Both professions require dedication and hard work to be successful but are also very rewarding in return. I work hard to help my students with their career preparations, and also try to provide some insight into what they can expect moving forward.
