As a recent graduate of Loyola University Maryland, I believe in sharing my skills and talents with others to enable them to succeed. I studied Biology and Spanish during my undergraduate career and earned a Bachelor of Science degree this past May. I began tutoring peers in high school, and continued throughout college as a peer tutor through an office, The Study, dedicated to academic support for all students. I worked at The Study for 3 years and became a CRLA certified tutor. I believe in a holistic tutoring approach that focuses on critical thinking, practical knowledge, and time management, and as a tutor, I will guide the student through the challenging areas of the material and be there to support them. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy photography, hiking, and reading, and would like to continue my education to pursue a Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. I would be more than happy to share personal references upon request as well. Thank you for reading and I hope to meet with you soon!

I am a graduate of Loyola University Maryland where I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at New York University pursuing a Master's of Science in Biology. Throughout my undergraduate career I extensively tutored students in biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry. At NYU, I am currently a teaching adjunct for introductory biology labs and continue to tutor students in biology and chemistry. Through my experiences, I have developed a love of teaching and want to pursue a career in biology education. Biology and Chemistry are my favorite subjects to tutor because they have a reputation for being very difficult. My tutoring style is to take a difficult subject and make it more approachable, clear, and easy to understanding for struggling students. Students find me very personable because I have been in the same position they have at one point and understand the struggles of learning a difficult subject. In my spare time, I am an avid cook and baker and enjoy exercising and taking my yellow Labrador for walks.
I pursued my Bachelors at Loyola University in Maryland where I concentrated in philosophy, history, and political science. Following that I pursued a Masters at Fordham University for philosophy with a focus on 19th and 20th Century German Phenomenology. I am here to teach anything from the basics of high school study strategies to advanced studies in upper level college courses.I have tutored throughout high school, college, and graduate school, with great success. When it comes to my tutoring style I truly believe that if you cannot explain something simply, then you do not understand it properly. That is why I endeavor to give the most straightforward explanation possible. I am a firm believer in contextualization - most especially in history - as it offers a broader and deeper understanding of concepts, which allows students better recall ability. I am quite easy-going, but highly effective.Apart from my foci in higher education, I specialize in persuasive writing and essay construction. When I am not actively teaching, I am actively learning. I am currently working on a research project, an unrealistic amount of do-it-yourself projects, and a book. I love playing with and training my two dogs, hiking, and reading for pleasure.

I am a graduate of both Loyola University Maryland and Fordham University. At Loyola, I earned my Bachelor's degree in History and Spanish. I studied numerous aspects of World History and focused my thesis on Medieval Spain. I earned my Master's from Fordham in Medieval Studies, with concentrations in History and Islamic Studies. After earning my Master's, I worked in Spain as an English Teaching Assistant for a bilingual high school in Madrid over the past academic year. I had the privilege to lead classes in various subjects, namely English, History, and Art, while also giving students one-on-one attention to help with particular difficulties they were having in English. My tutoring experience began as a peer tutor at Loyola, where I tutored History and Spanish. In Spain I tutored students, teachers, and parents in English. My favorite subjects to tutor are Spanish and History because they are essential for the development of communicative and analytic skills, which are essential for success in university and graduate level studies.During my lessons, I effectively collaborate with my students to discover their learning tendencies and habits so that they can quickly develop a strong understanding of the subject based on their strengths. My lessons are filled with discussion and dialogue in order that my students do not become bored with the material, but remain engaged and do not feel like they are being lectured. My goal in tutoring is to ensure that my students become motivated to constantly improve themselves; in doing so, they will develop a lifelong love of learning and a drive to succeed in any aspect of life.Aside from teaching, I am an avid sports fan, particularly of football, baseball, soccer, and golf. I also enjoy traveling, having done so extensively throughout Spain and other places in Europe, such as Rome, Paris, and Germany. There is nothing quite like speaking the native language (whether it's Spanish or broken French, Italian, and German) and experiencing the architecture, food, art, and music of all these places far away from home. These experiences have reinforced my appreciation for History and Spanish, as well as for the diversity of the world in which we live.
