I am a former middle school teacher currently working in higher education. I have a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from Saint Xavier University, and a Master's Degree in Education from Loyola University. My extensive experience in education ranges from teaching in a traditional classroom setting and non-traditional settings to children and adults. Being fluent in Spanish, I have experience teaching Spanish to English speakers and English to Spanish speakers. I have a huge passion for music, and have been playing guitar for 12 years. I am a graduate of Wabash College, a small school in Indiana. I obtained my Bachelors degree in Spanish and Education. I returned to Illinois and have been working as a teacher since 2017 in a bilingual setting. Recently I have just finished my Masters degree at Saint Xavier University. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the Spanish language. My experience covers a large range of age groups and curriculum, but have the most experience with elementary/middle school subjects. In 2012, I graduated from St. Xavier University with a Degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Language. However, I love math and with one more class, I will be done with my Middle School Math Endorsement. I have just finished my Master's Degree in Media Communications, as I work toward helping that department in the Educational Field. I am a graduate of St. Xavier University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and my Masters of Science degree in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. I enjoy tutoring students who are preparing to sit for the NCLEX exam and the professional Nurse Practitioner certification exam as I remember what it felt like to anxiously study and sometimes question if I was in fact studying the "right" material. Making sense of difficult material not only makes for a challenge but also a sense of accomplishment. I take the approach that most material that is perceived as difficult is only viewed that way due to the way the material is presented. I tend to break concepts down using common language and parallel those concepts with information that is already well understood. Most importantly, I feel that the information is interesting and engaging and I try to present it in exactly that manner.I have a broad range of educational experience as I started my college life attending art school to pursue a degree in traditional animation for making films. Although I did not finish my degree in animation, I did acquire some unique skills and experiences in the realm of fine art and drawing.I started pursuing subjects that interested me and was specifically pulled toward the sciences. I was lucky to have had several exceptional teachers and their guidance inspired me to obtain a degree in Chemistry. It was during this path to obtain my Bachelor's degree that I was introduced to my favorite subject, Organic Chemistry.The instructor that I had for Organic Chemistry was amazing and made the class not only amusing and interesting but also fun.
