I am a graduate of Wabash College, a small school in Indiana. I obtained my Bachelors degree in Spanish and Education. I returned to Illinois and have been working as a teacher since 2017 in a bilingual setting. Recently I have just finished my Masters degree at Saint Xavier University. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the Spanish language. My experience covers a large range of age groups and curriculum, but have the most experience with elementary/middle school subjects. As a teacher, I have learned there is no student left behind and every student can learn. Not everyone learns the same, but they all can learn. As a teacher and tutor, I believe it is very important to get to know who your student(s) are so you can work together towards a common goal. While it is important to learn, having fun while learning is also a large part of my philosophy as my belief is the experience will have a greater impact on my students if they can have fun while learning . I enjoy watching movies, spending time with family, friends, and sports, especially hockey.

In 2012, I graduated from St. Xavier University with a Degree in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Language. However, I love math and with one more class, I will be done with my Middle School Math Endorsement. I have just finished my Master's Degree in Media Communications, as I work toward helping that department in the Educational Field. I love tutoring because it gives me one on one time with a student to make sure they can produce success in their classroom. I have taught for 3 years! I tutor K-8 students in Reading and Math. I also sing and can teach the basics of music. My tutoring style is simple: to enable your student to independently find a solution to their problem(s). Upon engaging with your student a few times, I will have troubleshot their academic weaknesses. As we continue, with every issue they have, I will be able to help them because I know where they struggle. I am fun and I will make sure that every tutoring session we have will leave your student prepared for the next day and/or test! I look forward to pushing your child to their next academic level!

I am a graduate of St. Xavier University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and my Masters of Science degree in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner. I enjoy tutoring students who are preparing to sit for the NCLEX exam and the professional Nurse Practitioner certification exam as I remember what it felt like to anxiously study and sometimes question if I was in fact studying the "right" material. I also have a passion for tutoring students who need assistance with essay writing. I am a descriptive writer and use a lot of adjectives to color my essays. I assist students with understanding English concepts by first determining what they know and then bridging the gap to where they should be. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, walking and watching Disney movies. When volleyball is in season, you can catch me at one of my daughter's games cheering her and her teammates on.

I have been teaching 25 years and have a Bachelor in Education from St. Xavier University in Chicago. Tutoring students lets me share all of the things that I have learned and are currently learning. Education changes daily and I have to make sure I keep up with those changes. Harry Potter is something that I have always loved first with the books then the movies. Everyone learns in a different way and it is up to the teacher to find what way works for that student. Learning should not be boring it should be exciting and having the learner want more. I have taught K-8 and now High School. Life needs to be changed up once in awhile and that is what keeps me in the know.

Making sense of difficult material not only makes for a challenge but also a sense of accomplishment. I take the approach that most material that is perceived as difficult is only viewed that way due to the way the material is presented. I tend to break concepts down using common language and parallel those concepts with information that is already well understood. Most importantly, I feel that the information is interesting and engaging and I try to present it in exactly that manner.I have a broad range of educational experience as I started my college life attending art school to pursue a degree in traditional animation for making films. Although I did not finish my degree in animation, I did acquire some unique skills and experiences in the realm of fine art and drawing.I started pursuing subjects that interested me and was specifically pulled toward the sciences. I was lucky to have had several exceptional teachers and their guidance inspired me to obtain a degree in Chemistry. It was during this path to obtain my Bachelor's degree that I was introduced to my favorite subject, Organic Chemistry. The instructor that I had for Organic Chemistry was amazing and made the class not only amusing and interesting but also fun. The experience of understanding Organic Chemistry inspired me to pursue a Master's degree specifically in this subject. While in graduate school, I was a teaching assistant and this was very rewarding for me as I had the opportunity to share the knowledge that I had gained over my college years and pass that information on to students that were currently taking the class. It was this experience that caused me to realize that I really had a passion for teaching. To see how grateful students were to have me help them understand Chemistry was more fulfilling that any other employment experience that I have ever had.I am currently an instructor of Organic Chemistry at a local community college and I am looking forward to what the future holds in store.

I am a licensed teacher in the state of Illinois. I have been teaching for 10 years. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a behavior analyst throughout Chicagoland. I have worked with students as young as 3 years old up to 19 years old. I became a teacher after I realized how much I enjoyed teaching people new skills and seeing them make improvements. My philosophy to teaching is that all students can learn and that it is my job to figure out how they learn best and help them advocate for themselves.
