I believe that ALL students are destined to succeed in education in their own way and their own terms. Sometimes it just takes others longer to grasp the information being taught to them and that is okay! I was one of those students and now I make it my mission to help those students that struggle the way I did academically. I succeeded and I know they will to!

I am a 2013 graduate of Tennessee State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. I began my college career at Valparaiso University where I played football for a year prior to transferring to Tennessee State. . During my time at TSU, I served as a mentor and tutor to freshman who majored in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). In addition, I spent time at the STEM Prep Academy where I tutored grade school children. While at TSU I joined the Army National Guard, where I have been serving for the last 5 years. As an active participant on campus, I served as president of the American Society of Civil Engineers and assistant secretary of my fraternity on campus. I have a passion to see young individuals succeed in the classroom, and like to assist with that process when I am able to.

I received my undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies through Tennessee State University. I received a Masters in Instructional Leadership through Union University and am a licensed principal.The subjects I am most passionate about are reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, and phonics and elementary math. I also have experience teaching students how to be more organized and strategies in test taking.I am a big believer of building relationships. I want my students to have confidence in me and the two of us work together to set goals and map out steps to reach them. I believe students will be more successful in reaching their goals if they play an active role in setting them.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology located in Atlanta, GA. I went on to pursuing a Master of Science in Biology from Tennessee State University located in Nashville, TN. I love teaching students taking both biology and biochemistry. It is amazing to witness when a student who is struggling starts to understand the topic and then begins to build upon that understanding. My journey in education began during my college years in Nigeria, where I prepared students for international examinations such as the SAT, TOEFL/IELTS, and GRE. In the U.S., I have continued this path as a Teaching and Research Assistant, gaining valuable experience in instructing both laboratory and theoretical undergraduate courses. I have been a peer tutor throughout my academic career. It is natural for me to take complex methods and distill them into more easily understood discrete steps. The method that was taught at Tennessee State University's College of Engineering reinforces a structured approach to problem solving by having the student list the problem statement, identify the known and unknown quantities, list relevant theories/equations, and provide assumptions. I have always believed that getting the right answer is secondary to understanding the material and feeling confident in the ability to apply it correctly.

I am a graduate of Mississippi State University where I earned a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education with a concentration in clinical exercise physiology. After earning my degree from Mississippi State University, I pursued and earned my Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University. Later, I decided to switch gears and become a Massage Therapist. I absolutely love and enjoy the massage therapy profession. Moreover, I enjoy teaching others and students about the massage therapy field. I am very passionate about teaching and helping students accomplish their academic goals. I know school can seem a bit stressful at times, but through discipline, motivation, and confidence, the task can be accomplished. I have taught subjects such as Anatomy & Physiology, Pathology, Medical Terminology, Student Clinical, College Success, mblex licensure review, and my favorite Kinesiology for several years at various tech schools and colleges. I have also served as a lead instructor and department chair for the massage therapy program at various schools. During my several years of teaching, I have had great success with students passing their mblex on their first attempt with a 90% pass rate. In addition to this, I have attended a couple of mblex writing workshops that are affiliated with the Federation of State Board of Massage Therapy; therefore, I am very familiar with the testing format as well as the test question writing process for the exam. I am a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
